Good speaker out of the box - somewhat concerned about light construct

These replaced the outdoor Bose environmental speakers. Right out of the gate they do not have equivalent sound coverage I think due to the angled drivers in the Bose speakers. They do have better tone regarding bass and treble. Time will tell how these will perform with age but to be honest I was a little surprised that build quality was a little less than I expected. The enclosures seem a bit hollow and not as robust as the Bose. When I turn up the volume I do get a substantial amount of enclosure flex which also surprised me. They sound very good and I do not hear any enclosure rattling so it is what it is. I have been watching this specific model for quite some time so my expectations were extremely high. Again time will tell how they hold up to the elements. In my opinion they are too pricey so knowing what I know now I would look across the outdoor speaker field and investigate more deeply if I was doing it again. I "think" this is a good speaker and it sounds very good even at high volume. Tone controls set to flat using a Cambridge axr85 stereo receiver.

W-650 Definitively a step up!

Excellent sounding speakers. These replaced a single Polk Audio Atrium 8 SDI that was wired for Stereo left/right. The Def Tech's have a better cc less muddied sound than the Polk. Definitively a step up!
Pros: bass response and "cleaner clearer" response
Cons: not a con per se, but they are good sized. confirm the fitment.
