Streaming is discovering.
William from Glendale, AZ on 7/8/2025
This is a nice addition to my long-standing stereo system. Pretty straight forward to set up too! Nice display shows album cover art. I only have had this up and running for a few days, but starting a nice collection of music. As you might expect, the sound quality depends on the orriginal recording so not everything is pristeen, but hey what a selection at my fingertips!

CD quality.
Dean from Friendswood, TX on 6/24/2025
Great streamer. CD quality. Expansive sound detail. Perfect fit for my Sonance multiroom sound system.
Pros: CD quality sound. Ease of use StreamMagic app. Nice screen.
Cons: Only comes in aluminum color. I used automotive matt black wrap to blend with the Sonance equipment.

Outstanding Unit
Mark from Stewartstown, PA on 4/26/2025
The Cambridge EXN100 is my first streamer. I've been playing CDs for the last 35 years. The sound is outstanding. I was apprehensive about navigating Cambridges StreamMagic app but it's very easy to use. There is a great review in the May/June issue of the Absolute Sound. I am extremely happy with my purchase.

EXN100 is good value
Larry from Spokane, WA on 4/7/2025
I think the EXN100 is a good value in streamer/DAC/preamp. Replaced Mytek Brooklyn Bridge. A replacement Mytek is more than twice the price. EXN100 sound is not as clear. Setup using StreamMagic was ok. Would have preferred a browser instead of mobile device app. Had to do arp -a to find MAC to add to DHCP for consistent IP address resolution. StreamMagic app itself is functional. I was actually interested in Bel Canto ex1 or Primer Pre35. Both are more than twice as expensive. I could not find any information on their websites on where they were available. The NAD M66 lacks DLNA that I need for JRiver and Mac Mini/NAS music server setup. Was not interested in another Mytek mostly to try something else. Crutchfield was easy to work with and prompt shipping. I hate reviewing anything without living with the piece for a few months, but Crutchfield asked and so here it is.
Pros: Good Price Readily available
Cons: MAC address not in EX100 network information

Great sound. Unusable HDMI
SP from LOS ANGELES, CA on 4/6/2025
I'll cut to the chase - the HDMI integration is breathtakingly bad. It technically works, but can only be used if both your TV and amp/streamer combo are turned off. But if you're streaming music and decide to watch TV, turning on your TV on won't switch the streamer to HDMI. On top of that, it's not possible to switch from streaming to HDMI via remote control or the StreamMagic app. You have to turn off the EXN, then turn on your TV. I switched over to using the HDMI input on the EXA100 instead after Cambridge support confirmed that there is no workaround. That's right. This price and no way to change inputs without restarting the unit. Which begs the question, why does this product even exist? From all accounts, the sound quality is not majorly improved over the current CXN model which uses the same DAC. The screen is improved, but given its size and quality, it's still not very good for 2025. The major upgrade/differentiator here is the HDMI. I'm not sure what Cambridge is thinking bringing this to the market. It's truly baffling that the company the designed the seamless all-in-one Evo series, could miss so badly on basic design here. Sound is 9.5/10 but integration with the EXA is inconsistent. Poweramp mode works for volume control, but because the EXA has analog controls - there are still input issues (i.e. turning on the streamer from your phone will turn on the EXA, but it will default to the last input played, not the EXN's input).
Pros: Sound quality, Stream Magic App
Cons: Unusable HDMI input, uneven integration with EXA100, outdated aesthetic/design, mediocre screen

Great detail and clarity
Lee from Austin, TX on 2/19/2025
Have it hooked up to a entry level Cambridge AVR85 and Q Acoustics 5040 speakers. Sounds absolutely amazing - great detail and clarity. Despite what others have said, the setup is no more difficult than any other piece of electronic equipment. The app is fairly minimal but it is more than adequate and works well.

Highly recommend
Scott from Bellmore, NY on 1/19/2025
Not counting streaming from my phone to a dongle DAC, this is my first home HiFi streamer. It's connected to a 25 year old integrated amp and used as a DAC for an old CD player (now a transport). Set-up was very easy. The StreamMagic app is simply to use. Even an old guy like me had no problems. Sound: Tidal for higher resolution and Spotify Connect is seamless. The USB A port easily recognized my solid state drive and tons of FLAC files I ripped. I don't know what British sound means exactly, but this source is open and has great clarity for those tracks that are recorded well. I am very pleased with how it pairs with an old, analog amp. Having listened to CDs for decades, this new source is a welcome upgrade. My CD player is happy again. Look and feel: It's a solid piece. There a volume knob so you can use the preamp. I choose to use the preamp in my old McIntosh. The album art is clearly displayed. The cartoon VU meters are fun, but unnecessary. Overall: Good piece to upgrade an old analog system. Sound has detail and clarity that I missed with my old CD player.
Pros: StreamMagic is easy to use. Clarity of sound.

Cambridge EXN100. Setting up the streaming is a challenge.
Roy from Grandville, MI on 1/3/2025
Now that I've got it set up for streaming, I really like it. The initial setup re wifi, my phone, and the EXN100 was way more difficult than expected. I found the instructions of limited use. I had to experiment with various setup possibilities before I somehow almost magically got it up and running. Very disappointed by the setup process. So far I love the unit. Adding streaming source presets could be easier, but maybe that's just me. It doesn't seem intuitive to access that functionality. Streaming is all I've done so far, so I cannot comment on any other functionality at this point.

Cambridge Audio EXN100
Scott from Monroe, LA on 11/20/2024
Great piece of equipment for streaming, as far as I know the best for the price especially, if you have trouble connecting your phone to this Cambridge, be sure your VPN is off. You can't turn it off If you have Norton 360, you have to go to the Norton 360 app and disable it there in the Internet section. Turn off the Internet protection go back and connect and you will connect. I had this problem and finally figured it out after going through two of the earlier model Cambridge's.
