I was skeptical but the tech salesman convinced me that it really was plug and play. To my amazement being careful and using the GMC vehicle-specific harness worked the first time

Very easy to install, straight forward. It all seems to be high quality components and well assembled. On my 2008 Cadillac DTS I had to cut one wire that went to onstar to get audio out of the radio, but that is a Cadillac issue, not the harness manufacturer.

For my install every connection was provided and worked great. You almost can't mess this up. Each connector, except for one in my scenario, has one mate which makes it a breeze.
Pros: Perfect fit
Cons: Nothing

To be honest I was very happy with Crutchfield assembling this Alpine package deal for my 2011 Chevy Silverado. The only downside is I thought I would need the included amplifier (which I plan to return). The radio itself was very competent in filling my cabin with more sound then is tolerable. I hooked up just the stereo first to test that everything worked and was so overwhelmed with the increase volume and bass qualities, the AMP would be overkill. Given the power of the base radio, we choose to do a quick upgrade to the rear speakers with a set of Kickers, (which I know plan to do to the front door panel speakers too). My only issue was the On Steer Wheel controls not initially working. I called tech support and they had me right as rain in minutes. Made the recommended connection to the Alpine supplied cable to the IDatalink harness. Once done I was fully operational and enjoying my new sound package. I would highly recommend Crutchfield for their one stop shopping approach, and tech support on installation, especially for us DIY's. My next question is can I install the same system, w/o amp, in my 2000 BMW Z3? Thank you Crutchfield.

I just started installing it after Christmas. I got the Sony XAV-AX3200 to work, you can hear the radio through the truck speakers but that is about it. I flashed the iDatalink Maestro but couldn't get it to see the steering wheel controls, it will dial the smartphone with Bluetooth but I couldn't hear my wife and she couldn't hear me. I've not given up but I may end up putting the original stereo back in and sending all this back to Crutchfield.
Pros: Radio sound good
Cons: Thought it would be more of a plug and play,

OUTSTANDING SOUND QUALITY

THE WIRING HARNESS MADE THE INSTALL VERY EASY, BUT I CANNOT MAKE THE STEERING WHEEL VOLUME CONTROL WORK. THIS IS NOT AN ISSUE FOR MY WIFE BUT I'M VERY DISAPPOINTED BECAUSE I PAID FOR THIS FEATURE. THE MODULE IS GETTING A SIGNAL FROM THE STEERING WHEEL CONTROLS BUT VOLUME DOESN'T CHANGE. ALSO I PURCHASED THE ALPINE ILX670, THE SOUND IS FANTASTIC BUT I CANNOT SET THE CLOCK. I AM A FAN OF CRUTCHFIELD AND THEIR PRODUCT SUPPORT, I HOPE WE CAN RESOLVE THESE 2 PROBLEMS. I WILL GIVE A RESOUNDING 5 STAR REVIEW IF SO.

I cant imagine what this project would have been like without it! Makes everything truly "plug and play" Ensures every single existing vehicle option works perfectly.
Pros: 100% plug and play! No worries about poor connections
Cons: One or two confusing aspects but may be specific to the stereo i purchased? *Crutchfield tech helped me figure it out quick* The speaker is a bit bulky

Aaron from Tonganoxie, KS on 8/19/2024
Not a lot to say. It's a harness that makes setup with the Maestro possible. It works. Seems to be well made. I like the speaker on this unit; the factory tones for the turn signals and hazard tone closely match the OEM tones and are individually adjustable in volume level.
Pros: Good reproduction of OEM turn signal and hazard tones.
Cons: A little bulky. If you aren't installing a shallow-depth head unit into the GM vehicle this is intended for, you may have trouble getting everything including the Maestro unit to fit neatly in the radio pocket.

This made the install very easy. The most difficult part was trying to filter the 1000 page online booklet for your specific vehicle application to wire the harness. I spoke with a crutchfield rep to help me thru that process. Crutchfield needs a video app to help the rep with the walk thru process.
Pros: No splicing or dicing.
Cons: Filtering 1000 page instruction manual

Worked Great! I haven't installed a car stereo in 30 years. Crutchfield played a crucial role in my journey to upgrade the factory stereo in my 2011 Silverado 2500HD. Their expertise and guidance were especially helpful in helping me retain all of the factory steering wheel controls, backup camera, and backup warning systems. Everything worked as expected, and the instructions were great.
Pros: I had no issues with the installation.
Cons: None

There seems to be a lot going on with this harness. I did have to chat with Crutchfield Experts (amazing people BTW) to figure out 3 things with the harness instructions, after that it worked perfectly. Turned out I didn't need to use all the sub-harnesses in my exact application but it wasn't spelled out as such. Maybe too harsh to drop a star for instructions...? Anyway the install is working perfectly and it will make your day chatting with the best support in the industry if you do have questions.
Pros: Works perfectly
Cons: Involved instructions
