iDatalink HRN-SR-VW1 Vehicle-specific Harness

I used this harness with a Pioneer DMH-W3050NEX into a VW Eos. The Pioneer installation instructions recommended only professional installation. The iDatalink HRN-SR-VW1 along with the iDatalink Maestro SR and ACC-HU-PIO1 were all I needed. Flash the IDatalink Maestro on a computer, assemble all the harnesses on a bench or table and bring everything to the car for installation. Plastic trim tools and 4 T20 screws removed the old head unit. The new head unit required this harness, an antenna connection (bought from Crutchfield) and a GPS plug (already in the car) were all that were required. I put the USB line from the back of the radio into the glovebox for my phone. The email with the installation instructions gave me very good advice. It said to disconnect the factory Bluetooth module, probably under the passenger seat. My VW had a voice recognition module under the passenger seat which I disconnected. The Bluetooth module turned out to be in the armrest in the center console. Access the plug on the bottom by removing the 2 T20 screws in the back storage pouch and removing the back of the center console with plastic trim tools. The plug is at the bottom of the plastic unit that is uncovered. Without unplugging the Bluetooth module, the steering wheel phone and mic buttons didn't function properly. Crutchfield told me ahead of time it was the Bluetooth module, so I knew it wasn't the radio I bought. Now, everything works great.

2-14 VW Passat install with the iDatalink HRN-SR-VW1 Vehicle-specific

The install of my new radio into my VW Passat was sooooo easy with this - iDatalink HRN-SR-VW1 Vehicle-specific Harness. I had Crutchfield do the pre-wire option and this harness made EVERYTHING plug and play into the original Passat wiring harness!

plug and play keeps the stress away

this cable mixed with the maestro Rs interface made wiring my mkv vw 2005.5 with factory amp and steering wheel controls a dream. No splicing no headaches. plug and play capability. hardly need instructions and if you do, it's very difficult to mess up...
