Starts Every Time, No Matter Where I Am!
Richard from Port St Lucie, FL on 6/30/2025
?????????? Perfect Upgrade - Reliable and Easy to Use! I couldn't be happier with the iDatastart RF remote system. The installation was smooth and the range is outstanding - I can start my car from inside buildings or across parking lots with no issues. The remote is compact, responsive, and the feedback features give peace of mind that the command went through. This is a must-have for anyone looking to upgrade their vehicle with a dependable remote start system. Total game changer, especially in extreme weather!
Pros: Excellent Range - Works reliably from long distances, even through buildings and walls.
Cons: Extra Cost for 2-Way Remotes - Advanced features and longer range come at a higher price point.

Never could it to work. We tried a couple different modules and 2 different rf kits and i ended up taking the whole system out and sending it back. Poor technical support from idata start to figure it out. Crutchfield did everything they could to resolve the issue with no luck and Poor support from idata as well.

Works as expected after some tweaks
Shaun from Branford, CT on 1/25/2025
Instructions provided aren't very clear, but I found someone online who did the install on the same car and documented his steps. After install, remote would inconsistently trigger alarm if anti-theft was enabled on the car. Crutchfield support had me reflash the unit so that prior to start, it would unlock the car to disable the anti-theft, and then re-lock after start. This worked sometimes, but other times the alarm would still trigger. I finally removed all wires going to the BCM, reflashed back to not having it lock/unlock the doors, and now it works perfectly - so I only had to connect the harness to the starter. Remotes work perfectly.

my old remote start doesn't need held for 3 seconds, felt bad about calling tech support for help with why it wasn't starting with these remotes but would with factory remotes.
Pros: tech support was extremely helpful diagnosing my mistake with these remotes, put me in a bin and called back to check on my progress
Cons: when using this remote start it turns off the traction control, put in gear and you are able to turn right back on

iDatastart RF2352AC RF Kit
Mark from Salina, KS on 7/7/2024
Works great. My only problem is there are no instructions. The qr code says to have a authorized dealer do the install. After hours of searching with no good results I pulled the remote start back out of the car and plugged it back into my computer and re-did everything. You have to put the serial number in for each remote. Would have been nice to know that from the beginning.
Pros: Works great
Cons: No instructions

iDatastart RF2352AC RF Kit
Jason from Kearney, MO on 12/22/2022
Biggest detractor is there were no installation instructions and I plugged the wire into the wrong spot and finished the install. Had to tear it apart again once tech team called me back. Not pleased how long it took the tech team to call back.about 9 hours. Range seems better than OEM. Unknown if it will actually do 3k'. Quality of key fobs seems fair, at best. Definitely not as sturdy as OEM. It is a bummer I have to carry both OEM and the idatastart fob since my van opens using proximity and push to start feature.

Great system, and these two way remotes are awesome for the extended range and the secure knowledge that your signal was received is priceless. Definitely worth the upgrade.

If you're going to buy a remote by the two way. When the car receives its instructions the remote will be indicating it has received it
Pros: Easy to use
Cons: The remote feels cheap

Easy to program, way better range than the factory remote.
Crutchfield customer from Salina, KS on 3/10/2020
First off no matter what product you purchase from Crutchfield the tech support is amazing. Had a question on this rf kit because on the idata start module there was a place to program the remote but wouldn't except it. You can program the remotes after the install which was extremely easy. Was installed on my wifes 15 Toyota Sienna SE, which there was takeover but this is better than nothing at the moment.
Pros: Easy setup Small profile Good range 2 way
Cons: No screen Like to have a little more range

iDatastart 2-way remotes...common sense upgrade
Crutchfield customer from Rochester, NY on 12/13/2019
I was so completely impressed with the iDatastart products...everything worked seamlessly together! Crutchfield's technical support was, as usual, second to none!! Made me wonder why I ever paid somebody in the past to install my remote starter systems in the past.
Pros: Easy system set-up and programming.
Cons: None that I can tell

iDatastart RF2352AC RF Kit
Joel from Eden Valley, MN on 1/27/2019
These two way remotes work great. I don't even need to have any line of site to my vehicle to use. I hold the start button until I get a beep and as soon as the vehicle starts, I get two beeps and the button lights flash about every 5 seconds to let me know that my vehicle is running. It was easy to include the remote information in the programming process for the start module. I highly recommend two-way remotes over one-way remotes.
Pros: Extra range with these remotes and nice communication back that my vehicle is running.
Cons: Normal price is a little high, but I got mine during a promotions for just a little more than the one-way remotes.
