Must Have for Portability, but Give Time to Charge
Rob from Leesburg, VA on 6/6/2025
This battery is a must if you plan to use your Pulse Flex 2i as a portable speaker. It easily snaps on and off of the back of the speaker. I purchased mine as an open box, but it looked perfect to me. It may have had a lot of use, not sure. The only down sides I see so far are, 1. The time it takes to charge. In my case it took overnight to come to full charge. Then with the slightest use, it took a couple hours to recharge. 2. As far as I know the only way to charge it is while it is connected to the speaker. It would be nice to have a way to charge it off the speaker. 3. The battery is an older technology using NiCd, rather than Li-ion, hence why it takes so much longer to charge and will not likely have as long a life. Since it is so easy to take on and off of the speaker, I choose to leave it off when fully charged and using the speaker plugged into ac outlet. I noticed that when the battery is connected and I'm using the speaker while plugged in, it seems to use some battery power as well.
Pros: Allows portability for the Pulse Flex 2i. Easily snaps on and off. Give a few hours of use before needing recharge.
Cons: Takes a long time to charge. Must be connected to the speaker to charge. Uses NiCd rather than Li-ion.

Bluesound Battery Pack Well Worth the Money
Christopher from BROOKLYN, NY on 5/12/2025
Very happy with the battery pack. It attached easily to the speaker and ran for seven hours the first time I used it. Love the fact that I can take Bluesound with me on the patio. It's a versatility boost I never expected.

Worth it
John from Richmond, VA on 8/15/2024
Bought this right before a beach trip and it has performed well. Usually beach houses we rent have all manner of built in speakers but this one does not so the Flex has seen plenty of use by the pool, etc. I was happy that the usb port in the back is still accessible since I wanted to use a stick full of albums along with streaming. Battery life hasn't been an issue and I definitely appreciate the use of easily replaceable AA batteries. Recommended.
Pros: Expands the use of an already great speaker immensely
Cons: None so far.

Didn't live up to expectations
Phil from Menlo Park, CA on 5/28/2024
I'm going to be generous and give this 3 stars. It has the potential to provide battery backup to the Flex hence making the Flex portable. My experience has been that the connection between the battery pack and the Flex is flaky and I have to fiddle with the battery to make it connect to the Flex any time I unplug the Flex to move it and use it as a portable speaker. It's a good product in theory but if I had it to do over again I would not buy it. It hasn't been convenient and reliable for me.
Pros: Potentially makes the Flex an excellent portable.
Cons: It has been to unreliable for me to recommend it.

Cool Accessory!
Jason from Briarcliff, NY on 8/28/2022
Really convenient. I wish the wall brackets were quick release from the speaker backing, but you have to unscrew the hex screw by hand to then you can attach the battery. Six hour charge is decent but seems kinda limited, but otherwise an excellent accessory that does add value and versatility.

Great, future proofed product
Jay from Glen Burnie, MD on 5/5/2022
There is a huge long term attribute to this battery pack that nobody's talking about. The fact that it is "just a holder for 8 AA batteries" as some reviews say, is actually a pro, not a con. When the 8 AA batteries that came in it are dead and won't recharge anymore, YOU JUST REPLACE THEM WITH NEW ONES AND KEEP ENJOYING IT. Other manufacturers are making battery packs for their speakers with batteries that cannot be user replaced. BlueSound future proofed this product by giving the user the ability to keep their battery pack going indefinitely. We need more manufacturers doing proactive, consumer-focused things like this. I've had this for a few weeks now, and I've had a Denon Heos One for years with a battery pack. I can't say how long this battery pack actually lasts; I use it for 30-60 minutes at a time, but I haven't had to charge it again since the initial charge I did when I got it. I just pop the battery onto the speaker when I want to be cordless, and off when I don't. That keeps the batteries from needlessly wasting their finite charge cycles. I do wish the battery pack had an on/off button, like the one on the Heos battery, so I wouldn't have to physically remove it. The one problem I have is not with the battery pack, but that the Pulse Flex speaker doesn't seem to do well with my wireless signal outside. The Heos does fine, and my other devices like phones and tablets have full wireless signal outside. For some reason, the Flex seems to s
Pros: - Future-proofed design of replaceable batteries - BlueOS app just knows when there's a battery attached, and gives you a meter of power remaining
Cons: - Not the most attractive / ergonomic design for an add-on battery - No way to turn it off / stop power without physically removing the battery from the speaker

Fault in processor.

The charge indicator doesn't display as documented. BluOS support said it might be an internal fault in the charger.
