SVS in-wall subs
Joseph from NAVARRE, FL on 10/28/2023
I just received my SVS in-wall subs and amp. The package was 75lbs, and the weight and construction are great. Shipping from Crutchfield was just 2 days. I got these to reduce the number of speakers taking up my living room. I should have these and 8 other in ceiling and in wall speakers installed within a week. I chose some Martin Logan's for the surround and in-walls. I will be keeping my SVS Prime Pinnacles and ultra center, at least for now. Crutchfield always come through!
Pros: Fast delivery and great communication.
Cons:

No space for a subwoofer?
Greg from SPARKS, NV on 5/11/2023
Had a SVS downward firing PB-12 that would shake the house! And the wife had no issues with it as it doubled as an end table. Now that I'm in a new house, there is NO place to put the PB-12 so started looking at in-wall subs. Didn't find any reviews about these 3000 in-wall subs but decided to take a chance. I purchased the dual system as the room is 6000 cubic square feet. Installation was very easy. Running the speaker cables to the amp was a bit more of a challenge but worth it. The subs face outward from the center of the room - not the ideal placement but didn't have a choice - have 7 other in-wall speakers installed already. The review: The in-wall subs provide plenty of low end rumble and fill in what normal speakers can't provide. But they can't shake the house, room, or furniture like the PB-12 could. Admittedly, I have the output from the receiver to the subwoofer amp at -3db (the amp is at the default of -10db). I'm always wary of pushing electronics to the limit (I don't even over clock my computer). I may adjust the output of the receiver to 0db to see if I can't get things shaking. But overall, I am very happy and even more importantly, the wife acceptance factor is very favorable. Okay, I just adjusted the receiver out from -3db to 0db and now I get the "Shake"! Not enough to move pictures around but definitely feel it in my butt. Might adjust the amp to -7db to see what happens. And yes, I spray painted the speaker grills the wall color.
Pros: No floor space required! Sounds great and even has a bit for "rumble".
Cons: A bit expensive. Can be a pain to run the speaker wire down (or up) the wall to get it to the amplifier. If you have access to under your house or above (attic), then will be easier.
