Impressive Compact Receiver with Room for Improvements
Noel from Columbia, SC on 5/21/2025
This product is very good, though it could use a few more options to be perfect for me. I use it with a Wiim Ultra, connected via Optical, Klipsch RP500Mii speakers, and an SVS SB 100 Pro subwoofer, utilizing the Wiim's subwoofer output for better bass management. Coming from a Marantz SR6011, which was impressive in terms of sound but too bulky for my bedroom, I'm super impressed with this tiny receiver. To get the best out of it, you really need to tweak it. Initially, I used the soundbase as a standalone receiver. Since it lacks tone control and bass management, I wasn't impressed with the sound quality-it was powerful but "lifeless." Using the Wiim as my streamer, I adjusted the sound to my liking and now use the Soundbase primarily as an amplifier. It sounds superb, and I find myself listening to music more than before. It does get a bit warm to the touch. Play-Fi is useless to me.
Pros: Power Compact size Sound Quality
Cons: No tone control Gets warm Could have used a better app than Play-Fi

Great for streaming from my I phone
Joseph from Carlsbad, CA on 3/18/2025
What power from such a small amplifier, cannot push the volume more than75% or it will blow you out of the house, sounds unbelievable when a subwoofer and the SVS nano speakers. My turntable has never sounded so good!
Pros: What power from a small amplifier
Cons: none

All in all, it's a pretty nice unit
James from SLOATSBURG, NY on 12/28/2024
I use it to power outdoor speaker on my deck. The DTS Play-Fi is a bit of a pain, the windows APP in particular. In the end, I uninstalled it and use my phone to change the settings. Since it has a ethernet jack, wouldn't it be nice if you could access the settings on a web page? One minor complaint is that the line out is really a pre-amp out. The level changes with the volume of this unit. I would have preferred a fixed level line-out. I use it primarily to stream SiriusXM. That works pretty well, but I have noticed that every so often, the stream repeats the last 15-20 seconds programming. I have never noticed this deja vu on any other SiriusXM devices. Maybe it's a glitch in the matrix. I don't know if it would happen on any other streaming source
Pros: lots of streaming sources good sound
Cons: variable line out

Questionable Unit
David from Newark, DE on 12/9/2024
Generally nice sounding with good soundstage, but with an annoying buzzy sound to some male vocals in the mid-range.
Pros: nice overall fit and finish, nice overall sound
Cons: perhaps I got a defective unit

SVS Soundbase Pro for the WIN!!!!
Kevin from South Daytona, FL on 12/9/2024
It's all that I hoped for, and maybe even better. The Bluetooth works SEAMLESS, making your speakers/sub act as the best "Bluetooth speaker" ever. For our 2.1 setup, and its capabilities, I can't imagine a better purchase. Buy one, if in the market, I doubt you will be sending it back! I'm not a "$35k Klipsch" speaker owning Audiophile, but I've had my share of high end car and home stuff, including JL subs and McIntosh Tube amps. This is a great product.
Pros: Price, quality, functionality, and more..
Cons: N/A

SVS Prime Wireless Pro SoundBase
Eric from Pittsford, NY on 11/29/2024
Positives: Small footprint, plenty of power, RCA connections and HDMI eARC connection. Negatives: Gets pretty warm (will need some space to cool), no EQ capability--tone or bass adjustment, range with bluetooth not as far as my bluesound powernode. It also has no OFF switch, it shuts down after a half hour with no signal, not really a negative, but kind of off-putting. This all being said, it fits the bill for the reason I purchased it. It's a gift for someone who streams all of her music from Spotify. At the sale price I feel it was a good value.

Great Sound, Small Form Factor!
Shawn from Hutchinson, MN on 11/23/2024
I purchased this primarily for hi-res stereo listening in a small living room. The DTS Play-Fi iPad app is easy to use and has a clean look. The Play-Fi app for Windows cannot run in Critical Listening Mode, so just be aware of that if hi-res is of interest to you. Having a HDMI port is a nice bonus, as I am also using this system to replace the terrible speakers built in to my TV. Having the amp turn on and off with the TV is very convenient, as is volume control of the amp from the TV remote. Audio quality seems excellent and the small form factor is very convenient. Overall, a great solution for a small hi-res audio setup!

Strong power
Callie from Norton, VA on 8/2/2024
The sound was incredible! You can tell the power isn't overstated at all, and it'd have no problem powering just about any speaker. It sounded strong at low volumes as well as high volumes. My only complaint is the DTS Play-fi app was a little finicky to set up, but that seems to be with any app these days!
Pros: Power, Sound, Connections
Cons: Play-Fi is a lil finicky

SVS Prime Wireless Pro SoundBase
Sachindra from Fremont, CA on 7/24/2024
I always buy from Crutchfield. This SVS did not work out for me. After running it for an hour ( B&W 607 bookshelves), the avr was producing heat. I toughed the base, this was super-hot. The Crutchfield CS team sent a return label. I am back to drawing board, looking for a suitable desktop avr.

Flexibility and power
Nathan from Mutual, OK on 5/29/2024
I purchased this to update the source for my outdoor speakers (Definitive Technology AW6500). I had used a Denon Bluetooth receiver/amplifier and had been satisfied with it. However, I had no idea how much I was missing with the lack of power. The SoundBase made me regret how long I had limped along underpowering those speakers. It was fairly simple to setup (30 minutes or so). It has a lot of input options.
Pros: Small footprint, lots of inputs, easy to connect, powerful
Cons: Play-Fi app is clunky, no external Bluetooth antenna, no power/off button

SVS Prime Wireless Pro SoundBase
Crutchfield customer from CONCORD, NC on 1/11/2024
So this is a mixed bag for me. On one side it was amazing when it worked. But I had multiple glitches with it that were significant. Where volume would spike or half randomly when I got it. It seemed to settle down but I returned it cause it was always hot even at low volumes when working. I'm sure I just had a defective unit so I didn't wanna rate it lower. I returned it for a different amp. For this price it can't be beat with a hdmi.
Pros: A lot of power for price
Cons: Not great quality control imo. I had a prime wireless pro and it would occasionally have issues as well. Not as bad though.

Outstanding Amplifier!
Luis from Cabo Rojo, PR on 5/15/2023
Outstanding musical amplifier! Extremely clean, powerful and detailed sound! Two days have been enough to acknowledge the quality of this amplifier. I selected this over the competition because of connectivity, compatibility and versatility. Traditional remote and manual controls are very welcome. I don't like the idea of absolute dependency on a wireless connection to adjust my equipment and enjoy my music. Though research, I've learned that some premium brand amplifiers are not compatible even with same brand equipment! The SVS Soundbase Pro offers outstanding connection possibilities. I've paired the SVS Soundbase with a pair of vintage Infinity SM 65s Bookshelf speakers and a Bose1 Sub just to do my testing. In just one word: Amazing! The soundstage is as defined as can be. Vocals are natural and detailed. Truly impressive! Play-fi was easy to install and works very good. I'm still trying out streaming options. So far so good. For all of the above, I highly recommend this amplifier. My only concern is that this amplifier runs warmer than I expected so don't block vents. Adequate airflow is a must.
Pros: Versatile and fully compatible with both new and vintage audio equipment.
Cons: Runs warmer than expected. Adequate airflow is a must.

Great all in one package
Rahoul from Columbia, SC on 2/21/2023
I was super excited and lucky to grab a scratch and dent version of this at a discount. For some, even the MSRP may be worth it for its features and connectivity. But I felt like scratch and dent price was a more fair asking price. Its connectivity options are stellar. Biggest pro for me was Chromecast, which we link our whole house with, as well as HDMI. Apple Airplay and Bluetooth work fine too. To be fair, one could just get a WiiM/WiiM Pro to link up Chromecast and Airplay to any amp, but with the Soundbase also having HDMI (which we also have a use with our TV), it's a phenomenal value, especially with the sheer amount of power it carries (150 watts x 2; admittingly though, I don't need that much power). For amps, I also have a Rotel A12 MKII and an Aiyima T9 Pro in other rooms of my house. I'm not an audiophile and I can't easily compare the systems side by side where I can listen to the same song on the same speakers and amongst different amps. But the sound quality of the SVS is great overall. You can get integrated amps that are better sound quality/cleaner, and cheaper or similar amps with bluetooth, or amps with airplay/chromecast/HDMI etc, but this is a nice all-in-one package that is just very convenient. And that is primarily what you're paying for (not many amps out there with hdmi/chromecast/airplay/high power). Hopefully we'll get more reviews that compare its raw sound quality to other amps.
Pros:
Cons: There's no Power Off button (say what?!). The amp just goes into standby mode after 30 mins of no activity (or if your ARC/HDMI connected TV turns off). I wish the remote and amp had a standby/power button (b/c amp then just uses power/stays warm unnecessarily, and speakers have small blowing/hissing sound for 30 mins). Also wish it had a USB input on its DAC (but the optical is fine too b/c there are USB-optical adapters). No tone controls is also perplexing for a company known for its subs.
