Excellent surround speaker
Russell from Winston Salem, NC on 1/28/2025
I purchased these to use as surround speakers in a 5.1 setup. They were easy to mount on the wall, and the frequency response is very flat at the listening position. I would highly recommend these for anyone looking for a similar utilization.
Pros: easy to install flat frequency response attractive appearance very affordable
Cons: frequency response only goes down to about 70 hz in my room, so a subwoofer definitely needs to be part of the equation.

Top Choice in its Category
Clifford from Merrick, NY on 1/24/2025
I think these speakers are a top choice for for a wall mounted bottom vented affordable solution toward the pursuit of excellent sound. They don't quite match the bookshelf equivalent, but I use them with ELAC Debut's and they complement them beautifully. Just add a sub if your budget permits.
Pros: Sound quality, size, price and design.
Cons: Not quite the depth of sound from a bookshelf, but almost! It's unfair to compare, as these have a much slimmer form factor.

ELAC On-Wall 4.2 surrounds
Daniel from Orlando, FL on 12/30/2024
These ELAC debut OW 4.2 are just what was needed to complement my 7.1.2 system. I ordered 4 in total and have them as my surrounds and back combos. I drive them all with 100 watts each at 8 ohms. They respond well and have clear responses to my movie needs. I would recommend these for any small to medium sized rooms. ELAC has proved to be a quality brand with exceptional built quality.
Pros: Small, powerful and compact for small to medium sized rooms. Great natural sound, ported downward for amazing lows, the tweeter hits an accurate pitch. These OW 4.2 are a must for surround use in a compact format.
Cons: None yet but fear some limitations when pushed at high volume. As surrounds, I have no need for such volume extremes, but will see how they break in over time.

Perfect for the job.
Kenneth from Connersville, IN on 12/22/2024
Needed two stereo pairs for a home gym that had to be wall mounted and not too deep. These perform like speakers twice their size! Incredible clarity, great dispersion with virtually no loss of sound quality when moving around off-axis. I paired them with a 12" Polk sub, using Bluesound Node - now one of my favorite setups.

ELAC Debut 2.0 OW4.2
Christopher from Massillon, OH on 7/3/2024
I wanted "real speakers" for my new hard wired system. These are in my family room and supported by an Audio Engine S6 powered subwoofer. Marvelous stereo sound for my vinyl and cd collection. Liked them so much that I bought another pair for my living room to replace 1980's old boys. Only drawback is the mount. These speakers are heavy and I was concerned about the wall mount. My wife suggested that I build two small floating shelves that I could securely anchor to the wall. Brilliant idea. I included some pictures if anyone else wanted to try this system of mounting. (one of the pictures looks like it might have uploaded sideways, so use your imagination) Very pleased overall with the sound production of this product.

Good for the $
Stephen from Edgerton, KS on 1/16/2024
The wall mount brackets are simple and work well. You can easily remove the speakers if/when desired. I shimmed the bracket out a bit from the speaker with some paper and on the wall bracket bent the fingers out a bit so that it worked well. I also added some small felt pads to the bottom of the speaker where they touch the wall. Same pads you use on cabinet doors or picture frames. They sound good as well. Good deal when on sale.
Pros: Fit well on walls, sound good.
Cons: A few minor modifications are needed to make the brackets work good.

Good on wall option
Crutchfield customer from Atlanta, GA on 1/11/2024
Solid on wall surround speakers. A little bit of a pain to attach to the mounting brackets, but it's a one and done situation.
Pros: Sits close to the wall

Good sound and great space saver.
David from Asheville, NC on 3/1/2023
I use these for the side surrounds in a narrow room. These wall mounts sound great, they blend in well with my other Elac surround sound speakers. I am happy with my purchase.
Pros: Good for saving space. Speaker wall mounts allow for easy speaker removal. Do well for side surrounds.
Cons: Probably will need extra fasteners/screws when mounting on Sheetrock.

Narrow and lively
Juan from Katy, TX on 1/15/2022
The best option if you need to save space and money, the sound is very lively and dynamic. A bought a pie for my sides surrounds in a very narrow room (10 ft wide) and I'm glad I make this purchase, if you're going to cross with a sub(s) then you're gold!

Small but Powerful
David from Pelzer, South Carolina on 4/6/2021
I am using these as surrounds along with Elac Debut 2.0 F 6.2 mains and the Debut 2.0 Center Chanel. Their size makes them ideal for wall mounting and the sound coming from these speakers exceeded my expectations. The sound is rich and full with great clarity. Have been using these for several weeks and am totally satisfied with the purchase. Delivery from Crutchfield was super fast...received day after purchase. Would even consider these as mains in bedroom set up.
Pros: Full, rich and crystal clear sound. Base really good for such a small speaker.
Cons: Because of bracket design hanging on the wall was a pain.

Only great On-wall Surround.
Richard from TAMARAC, FL on 1/11/2021
Such clarity. Upgraded from 7.2 Infinity Primus setup to 9.2. Lower profile allows fir install on block walls. Mixed with Klipsch Reference atmos setup (Klipsch doesn't have a low profile on-wall speaker). It's AWESOME.
Pros: Low profile, great clear sound
Cons: None

Work just fine as front speakers
Crutchfield customer from Longmont, CO on 10/19/2020
I have a subwoofer and the speakers are 11.5" from the listening position. These work no problem in regards to volume or range when used as front speakers, so don't think you NEED big towers if you're in a pretty normal family room size. Mounting was easy and even though instructions state that no mounting hardware is included, it does include anchors for drywall hanging. Be advised that there are two sets of screws with different threading and if you aren't sure which to use for the speaker vs the wall, you'll find only 1 threads into the wall anchors provided. Please excuse the taped wires (temporary) in the photo... precaution around a 1 year old; till I have time to run in-wall rated wire through the wall.
Pros: low-profile on wall down-firing bass usable as front speakers
Cons: unremarkable manual

ELAC Debut 2.0 OW4.2
Crutchfield customer from Sheldon, IA on 9/29/2020
I would have given these a five star because they sound really good but had to go a four because of the connections. The hanging bracket works just fine except it holds the speakers tight against the wall. When you hook up the wires, you need a little over 1/8" clearance for them so you have to bend out the brackets so you have clearance.

This pair of speakers does exactly what I need from rear surrounds. Nice sound even on concert videos. They do not stick out from the wall to far which is what I needed as my couch is close to the back wall.

No surprises
Crutchfield customer from Medfield, MA on 1/6/2020
I wanted to fill out the line up of Debut 2.0 speakers I have up front to ensure I had a tonal match for the rears, and these fit the bill. They are low profile and work well on the side walls of my sitting area. No complaints, they do their job well.
Pros: Low profile Full sound from a smaller diameter speaker
Cons: Wall attachment requires some work.

Good Speakers for the Price
Douglas from Huntsville, AL on 9/16/2019
These speakers replaced a set of small wall mount speakers in my bedroom system that cost about 1/4 of these two. Even with the "major" price difference, these ELAC speakers sound great. I was surprised at the amount of bass, given how thin they are. The downward firing bass ports (there are TWO!) really seem to help the low frequencies. Compared to my old speakers, these have much more bass, treble, and a cleaner midrange. I have another set of bookshelf speakers I use for surround height in my main system (similar size, but much deeper, and mounted high so I don't run tino them) that cost about twice as much as these ELACs and the bass is very similar. Overall, I am VERY pleased. They even came with enough mounting hardware to mount them to drywall, although there were no instructions as to which set of screws went into the speaker and which went into the wall anchors. They fit well on the wall, not sticking out so far as to make them inconvenient for a surround system (I don't run into them while walking past them). I would buy them again (and may, as I need some more surround speakers for my main system). If you use these for a surround system, you will need a subwoofer for really low sounds, but for a smaller system/room they would be enough.
Pros: Thin, unobtrusive wall mounting, good sound, wall mounting hardware included. Good value for the money. Relatively efficient speakers.
Cons: Very low bass missing, no hardware mounting instructions, if not wall mounting them you have to set them on their side or bottom due to the bass ports on the base of the speaker (and if you set them upside down, the now top firing ports can swallow small items if you are messy and clumsy, like me).
