Product Research

Features

Vehicle Compatibility: The PAC RP4.2-MB11 allows the replacement of a factory radio in 2013-2018 Mercedes Sprinter vehicles with an aftermarket head unit, while retaining valuable factory features and providing convenient data bus driven outputs.

Note: The RP4.2-MB11 is only compatible with 2013-2018 Mercedes Sprinter vehicles that are equipped with a factory radio.

Radio Dip Switches: The radio dip switches on the side of the interface must be adjusted to the proper radio setting before plugging the interface into the vehicle. The RP4.2-MB11 is compatible with Alpine, JVC, Kenwood, Clarion, Pioneer, Sony, Fusion, Advent, Boyo, Dual, Lightning Audio, Jensen, Rockford Fosgate, and Visteon aftermarket radios (see owner's manual for appropriate dip-switch setting).

Programmable SWC: The RP4.2-MB11 comes pre-programmed for all of the vehicle's factory SWC functions and does not require programming, unless you wish to re-assign the SWC functions to different buttons or create secondary functions. Use of this interface also allows you to program two radio functions to each SWC button by using short press long press dual command functionality. The SWC functions can be easily programmed; see default SWC button assignments in the included user manual. The interface retains programming even if your vehicle's battery is disconnected.

Note: The SWC harness contains a Blue/Yellow wire and a 3.5mm connector. You will only use one of the connectors, based on your type of aftermarket radio. The Blue/Yellow wire supports Kenwood and newer JVC receivers. The 3.5mm jack supports Alpine, Jensen, Older JVC, Clarion, Pioneer, Sony, and Dual radios.

Factory Aux & USB Inputs: The PAC RP4.2-MB11 will retain your vehicle's factory 3.5mm Aux input and USB port. As long as your new car stereo has a high-amperage charging port (1.5A or greater), this USB adapter harness should support Apple CarPlay and Android Auto operation. However, the number of variables involved means Crutchfield or PAC can't guarantee compatibility.

Factory Backup Camera Retention: The interface also retains your vehicle's factory back-up camera through its composite video jack that plugs into the camera input on the back of your new aftermarket stereo.

+12V/10A Accessory Output: Because there is no 12-volt accessory wire in the Mercedes Sprinter factory harness, the PAC RP4.2-MB11 provides a 12V/10A switched accessory output for your new stereo. This saves your from having to run an accessory wire from your new aftermarket radio to the fuse box or underneath the steering column.

RAP (Retained Accessory Power): The PAC RP4.2-MB11 is designed to retain your vehicle's RAP (Retained Accessory Power) system. RAP (Retained Accessory Power) allows your vehicle's ignition power source to keep the radio on until one of the doors is opened.

Navigation Outputs: The PAC RP4.2-MB11 is outfitted with navigation output wires (Parking Brake, Reverse, Speed Sense) to make installation of an aftermarket navigation receiver simpler and quicker.

Camera System Ready: By adding on the PAC VS41 (sold separately), you have the ability to add front and blind-spot cameras (sold separately) creating a complete camera system for your Mercedes Sprinter. When the VS41 is connected, the RP4.2-MB11 will send the proper signals to the VS41 so that the left and right cameras are triggered when the turn signals are active. The front camera can be triggered by using the supplied 3-way toggle switch (the front camera, when triggered via the supplied 3-way toggle switch, will only be active at speeds below 6mph).
