How does it work?

The T-harness plugs into your factory amp's input wiring, linking the radio to the Maestro module and the amplifier. Your factory radio continues to work just as it always has, but you now have much more power and tone processing ability. It was a common practice, when adding an amplifier or processor to a premium system, to sum the different amplified signals together (tweeter, midrange, woofer), attenuate them down to line level, process them while removing amp noise, and then re-amplify them for the speakers. iDatalink's AR module eliminates all those steps, resulting in a much cleaner output. You get vastly improved sound quality and the ability to upgrade your speakers and subs, while you retain your vehicle's stock radio and all of its functions. Sounds like a win/win to me.

Factory Amplifier Replacement Interface: The Maestro AR (ADS-MAR) from iDatalink is a factory amplifier replacement interface module for select Chrysler, Dodge, Fiat, Ford, Jeep, Lexus, Maserati, Ram, Subaru, and Toyota vehicles. It enables seamless integration of a Kenwood XR600-6DSP amplifier (sold separately) while retaining the vehicle's factory radio.

  • Proprietary 4-Pin Cable (Included): The included proprietary 4-pin harness connects the iDatalink Maestro AR module directly to the Kenwood XR600-6DSP amplifier. The harness sends the volume, fader, and balance commands from the factory radio through the Maestro AR to the amplifier.
  • Vehicle Specific harness (Sold Separately): A vehicle specific T-harness (HRN-AR-CH2, HRN-AR-CH3, HRN-AR-CH4, HRN-AR-FO2, HRN-AR-F03, HRN-AR-TO1, HRN-AR-TO2, HRN-AR-TO3; sold separately) will also be required. The vehicle specific T-harness plugs between the vehicle's factory wiring, the Maestro AR module, and the Kenwood XR600-6DSP amp. The harness carries the audio and data signals from the factory radio through the Maestro AR, to the amplifier.
  • Ford Vehicle Integration: The Maestro AR module, when combined with a vehicle-specific Ford T-harness and an iDatalink ACC-RCA1 adapter (sold separately), can also be used to add any aftermarket (non-XR600DSP) 4-channel amplifier to compatible Ford vehicles. This combination provides a clean, low-level signal to the amplifier while also eliminating any factory ANC (Active Noise Canceling) signals. Currently, only select late-model Ford vehicles are supported for this feature.

Flashing Module via Weblink Desktop: The Maestro AR (ADS-MAR) will need to be loaded with correct firmware before installation. The included USB cable plugs into your Windows PC or MAC computer and allows you to "flash" the Maestro AR with the appropriate firmware to prepare it for installation. Simply download Weblink Desktop (for Windows and Mac) onto your computer to access the appropriate firmware. System requirements include -

  • Windows PC (10/8.1/8/7/Vista/XP/2000) or Mac OS X (Mojave [10.14], HighSierra [10.13], Sierra [10.12], El-Capitan [10.11])
  • Available USB port (version 2.0 or 3.0)
  • 4GB RAM or more
  • 200MB available space on HDD
  • Internet connection

Note: Not compatible with Chromebook and other operating systems not listed above.

Clean Stereo Signal: The iDatalink Maestro AR (ADS-MAR) and vehicle specific harness allow the Kenwood XR600-6DSP amplifier to receive a true, clean stereo signal from your vehicle's existing factory radio, while the Maestro AR module translates all of the CAN-Bus communication from the radio to the amplifier.

Having a difficult time figuring out what will work with my 21' Tacoma with JBL that is a simple solution. Ideally I want a more powerful amp and the AR/x600 sound like a great option but not sure if I retain everything or if it is compatible the site says one thing idatalink says another. Very confused. Will this work?

I can't answer your question but the folks at Idatalink can. They were very helpful too me. Works great in my 2017 Outback 3.6R, sounds fantastic and I was able to keep all functions.

If your head unit already supports CarPlay, it will continue to do so. This doesn't add CarPlay functionality to your radio(s).

How does the center channel get power? I didn't see any outputs on the Kenwood XR600-6DSP amp to power my center channel speaker. For reference, I have a 2016 Dodge Ram Crewcab with the 8.4" display and Alpine 10-speaker system.

I do not use the center channel in my car anymore, it has been disconnected permanently..it messes with the front stage imaging and in most vehicles you won't notice it missing.

It was recommended that I disable my center channel in my dash. I don't miss it, however beware of this amp as my phone no longer connects with Bluetooth to the amp. You cannot control the amp without your phone being connected. App developer and Kenwood blee me off. Now I have a very expensive brick!!

Will there be harness for 08+ Mitsubishi vehicles equipped with the factory Rockford Fosgate premium system? At least 2012+ vehicles. Every Mitsubishi now sold, Outlander, Outlander sport, Lancer, even the tiny mirage, and upcoming Eclipse SUV, all have the RF factory amplified sound system utilizing a multi channel RF amp. This would be a godsend and sell like hotcakes as Mitsubishi has used their Rockford Fosgate system/amplifier since 2008 and have no plans to change it up so likely many thousands of sales for this to eliminate the factory RF amplifier which IS canbus. Only other option is a daisy chained DSP with 8-9 channel conversion 5hen adding multiple amps. Not sure why Maestro hasn't come out with their current stereo link for Mitsubishi as they have canbus controls for ALL kinds of functions with harness plug behind radio. Factory nav vehicles are plugged in to this harness. It's there anyways with no nav. The factory amp overheats and requires restarting car to turn back on to reset built in protection. Please, please crutchfield. Get this harness from Maestro made for 2008+ Mitsubishi vehicles with RF systems. Only 1 change to amp pinouts from 08-2018. May still be universal depending on where Maestro ties into harness. I'll be first to buy this factory Amy replacement unit RIGHT AWAY. Take my money, please!!

Kenwood Excelon XR600-6DSP is the only one I know of. But Kenwood might be coming out with a version with more channels, at least that's the rumor I heard.

The AudioControl DQ-61 is a processor that takes the audio out of a factory radio, restores it to a true preamp level while both removing noise and imbalances, and letting you make adjustments to the sound.
