in the past there has never been what i would call a acceptable head unit for marine while running high end systems, talking seperate amps for everything, subs..... so after looking at everything available the apines both auto and marine hands down had the best stuff i could find locally or even online really. my personal biggest complaint, i like motorized panels, the saleman said he agreed but they are no longer common due to people breaking them :(. so i buy it anyways, take it home and hook it all up. this thing is great, its easy to use, it has great power, i tried the internal amp on 6x9s before the amp was installed, it has more inputs then anyone can ever use, 4 volt preouts which was a must to me, nice display, turn knob volume which is a huge plus to me. honestly its everything you expect with a alpine and i would recomend this unit to anyone that needs a "cd player" and if their multi media reciever is anything comparable to this then you cant go wrong! 2 thumbs up, way to keep me satisfied alpine!!!!

I love the connectivity of this new Alpine (USB + IPOD + MP3 CDs) and they have a great reputation but this unit came up a little short. I have it in my speedboat running the pre-outs through 3 amplifiers driving 9 speakers. It is VERY sensitive to voltage fluctuations. When I crank it up the receiver drops out. I have a huge dedicated stereo battery, big capacitors on all the amps and excellent power distribution but it still drops out which is very frustrating. My previous Sony had no problems wired the same way. The Alpine also generates a loud "POP" through the amps when it is turned on which is annoying and probably not too good for the speakers. I'll make it work but I shouldn't have to.

I just installed it in my Ranger 2300 Bay this past week. I really like the i pod hookup. I can just plug it in and i don't have to mess with it anymore. The receiver charges my it so i don't have to worry about it going dead unlike ordinary auxiliary hookups. I also put Sirius radio on it and it sounds great. The receiver pushes plenty of power to the speakers and they sound great. It is much better than the Sony i had on it before. I would recommend this to anyone that is wanting a radio with great looks and the ease of use with an I pod.

Just installed this in my Mastercraft this past weekend. Looks 10 times better than the old Pioneer deck that was in there...and instantly I could hear the sound quality difference. Alpine has always been a favorite of mine, harking back to the days when I had a 7909...yeah, I know, I'm getting old. Anyway, I haven't messed with all of the functions yet so I can't comment on ipod connectivity, Sirius, etc.. The display looks awesome...much better and easier to read than the typical segmented character lcd displays. I have it hooked up to a 5 channel amp with Polk Momo speakers and subs, and it sounds pretty freakin good if I say so myself. My only concern is that Crutchfield says the MC-10 remote has been "discontinued"...but the Alpine site says it's to be released this Spring. I'm hoping I can still get one.

I recently purchased this unit for my boat. I had a good unit already, but wanted one with the capabilities of XM Radio, Ipod player, AM/FM, and CD, all rolled up into one unit. Well, what can I say, the best word to describe this Alpine unit is "AWESOME". The sound is great, no "negatives/drawbacks" to report. It also helps when you have the guys at Crutchfield behind your purchase. Best customer service EVER!!!!!
