Sorry but this Alpine unit only gets 2 stars because the bluetooth will NOT automatically connect to a second BT phone that was previously paired in the Alpine unit. My wife and I share this car and if I drive the car with this Alpine unit and connect to the BT it's fine as long as only my phone is used. The BT will automatically connect to my phone when the Alpine is powered on/ff. When my wife uses the car she has to initially connect the BT manually to her previously paired phone. When I use the car again I have to initially connect manually again. This is terrible.
I have owned Parrot BT products in the past (BT v1.1) and those devices would automatically connect to any of up to 5 phones previously paired with the Parrot BT device. If both phones were present upon powering up, it would connect to the 1st BT device that was initially paired to the Parrot.

is a lot better than the sony I had in the same price range. The Alpine is easier to use while driving, buttons bigger and laid out better. Audio: well, in this price range they are all the same, pretty good. Better than my speakers I'm sure. I love the ability to set the backlight color, but they should tell you that in blue & green you can't use auto dim. Kinda dumb, but I set manual dim and it's fine. I won't do BT streaming audio, I didn't know that, but using aux cable is ok. My Sony did BT streaming but was a pain as would not stay connected to my phone. The Mic on the Alpine is great, and it comes in box, another plus. It has remote power....where car delays turn off after stopping car. The Sony did not. Glad I made the switch. Now to sell the Sony on ebay. Oh, the Sony would beep 3times when turned off, how annoying, not the Alpine. It's really designed to use rather than have lots of lights and look good in the showroom. Oh, and demo mode comes turned off....no big deal, it can be turned on or off, but out of box off shows the Alpine mindset: for the user, not the showroom.

I was looking for a stereo that had built-in bluetooth so I could have hands-free phone calls with no silly piece of plastic hanging around my ear (can't stand those things). I decided on the Alpine 103BT because it had all the features that I was looking for and was reasonably priced- even after the $30 for the iPod controller cable.. it was worth it though.
First off, this unit has crystal clear sound. I have a nice Pioneer deck in my F150, and this Alpine easily blows it away. There are several different adjustments you can make as far as bass, treble, frequency settings/filters, etc. to customize the sound to your liking.
It comes with a well-built microphone on a VERY long cable, so you can mount the mic anywhere in your vehicle. I chose to mount it on my steering column and call clarity is excellent. This unit syncs with your cell phone's contacts so you can scroll through them using the stereo's controls and even place an out going call without having to touch your phone.
I also like the fact that it has different color settings to match up to your vehicle (blue/red, green/green, amber/red, red/red) I like the Green.
The controls are simple and easy to remember. Controlling your iPhone's music library from the deck is a breeze and the unit is very fast- no lag at all when zipping through artists, songs, play-lists, etc.
My wife was so impressed with this that she wants one for her car, so I'll be ordering one again soon.

Unit performs as expected. I got this mainly for the bluetooth handsfree and folks on the other end sometimes complain about the quality, Probably dont have the mic in the right place,, still experimenting with this though. Other than that the I use the audio in to play music on my phone which works great. The tiny buttons just take some getting used to, its quiet a contrast form my factory unit which had huge buttons. Crutchfield tech support was excellent in helping me get it installed correctly. Thanks
