I've had it nearly three years and it was at least a couple of years old when I bought it. I used it on 2 12" Audiobahn 550RMS subs. It absolutely pounded. Keep in mind they are in a custom sealed box behind the seat of a single cab S-10, Unreal how loud it was in that tiny box. Not only loud, but the Alpine amp has a musicality about it that most other sub amps just don't have. Just take a look at the S/N ratio. The ratio is better than 100. Less noise equals cleaner power. I finally got the best of one of my subs after 2yrs. I replaced the subs with 2 Kicker Solo Classic 12's. Now it's just as loud and hits deeper and sounds even better. I have never had this amp cut out or do anything other than what it was designed to. If you take the time to hook this amp as it was meant, it is absolutely bullet-proof. I love it.

This amp is super bad. I'm pushing 2 Alpine 1242D type R's in a sealed box. After i hooked up the amp and subs and turned it on, I could not believe how hard the subs where pounding. I would recommend this amp if you want some serious hard hitting sounds. It's worth the money. Thanks Troy !

I am using this AMP to power two Kenwood W3012 subwoofers with signal from a Kenwood DNX-7140. The AMP is clear, powerful and very clean. This setup sounds great and has enough power to practically shake the ground.

I had one of these amp briefly to replace an older Alpine M300 amp that I had. It put out a lot of power, but did get hot on me quite a bit, powering 2 infinity perfect 10 subs. I decided to replace this amp with another Alpine PDX 1.600 amp and although the PDX was only 600 watts compared to this 1000 watt amp, in my opinion the PDX digital amps by Alpine sounds worlds better. The bass hit loud and sounded quite a bit cleaner with the PDX amp. Because the PDX amp is a digital amp it didn't get hot like the vpower amp I had. The pdx amp just got a little warm and didn't seem to draw as much power as noticable with my lights not dimming as much with each bass note. It is a good amp for the price, but from my experience, I'd spend the extra $$$ for the Alpine PDX amp. U wont regret it...

I bought this amp to replace my old rockford amp ive had for almost 10yrs and not too happy with the alpine m-1000. I'm using it to power my JL 12w7 the quality of sound that comes out is better but my old rockford is so much louder.
