I bought this amp to replace a dying Xtant 33oox. With all the controls and extra pieces you could buy with the old Xtant, I was a little nervous about buying a more simpler amp. I have a single 12" sub, and factory speakers in the car. The sound is impressive with the stock speakers. I look forward to replacing those in the future. The sub channel is more than sufficient. It does take some tweaking to get it right. In my 2011 Chevy Malibu, the door/ warning 'bells' are hooked up to the amplifier, since the sounds go through the speakers. So, cranking the input levels only raises the noise level of the 'bells'. But that's not the amp's fault. A thicker power wire is recommended, and I would agree. Good amp for the money, figuring my old Xtant "5" channel went for around $1000 back in the days....

This amp is under-rated and really cranks out crisp, clear sound. Birth sheet lists the full range channels at 117W and the sub channel at 375W. I bridged the 4 channels to CDT components in front and two CDT subs wired in parallel in the rear. My system slams! Gains are set to only 1/2, there's lots of headroom left. As it is, it's deafening at full volume.

This is a lot of amp in a small package. We installed it in a 2008 Mazda 6, kept the factory head and ran it off the speaker level outputs. It auto powers when it senses signal off the head (as advertised), and we installed the optional dash-mounted sub volume control. The Alpine Certification measured the four channels at 116w each and the sub output at 403w at 2-ohms - looks like Alpine might be one of the few manufacturers underrating its amps in their marketing materials. This amp is driving two 10" Polk subs in the trunk with Boston Acoustics component and Alpine coax speakers in the cockpit. The individual gain and crossover points allow you to configure the sound perfectly for the cabin so the head unit doesn't have to "color" the bass and treble. Incredible sound.
