When this thing worked it make the sound in the "sweet spot" sound remarkably good. It also makes the sound everywhere else sound worse. It has to make the delays, to every one else, worse in order to adjust the delays, to optimum, for your listening area.
The controls I found to be very, very awkward, having yet another remote control to fumble with was very annoying and having to look at it, until you memorize it, is dangerous.
Not being able to use the many controls, on my touch screen head unit, really took the fun out of this product. On top of all that it completely quit after 3 months of very light use. I had turned it on a total of maybe 8 hours.
I cannot recommend this product to anyone until Alpine rethinks it's use, operation and packaging.

Using this with 2008 Silverado and Boston Acoustic Amps and Speakers.
Alpine unit has introduce audible (and anoying) alternator whine and turn on pop to my system. Various ground/wiring configurations, filters, loop isolators, expensive patch chords did not improve the situation. I've given up and I'm trying to learn to live with the whine and pop - it's not horrible.
Running autoconfiguration multiple times generated widely inconsistent results, except for consistently pulling my soudstage to the right front by my ears. The pull to the right can be overcome by adjusting the balance on the remote, but it seems to lower the overall volume of the system.
After a year or so of use, it is startging to cut the signal to the sub at times and sometimes cuts the signal all together. This is a recent development - so no pattern identified. It seems that switching between aux and head unit on the remote seems to be a short term fix (go figure).
Aside from these issues, it has improved the overall sound quality of the system which I appreciate and I really like the remote. However, I think I will be looking to replace this with the RF 3sixty.1 or the JL clean sweep.

Can't get my sub to work |

I hooked mine up months ago and was very impressed. The sound stage on my front speakers was superb, unlike anything I have heard. Then I added a sub and after at least ten hours and several calls to Crutchfield and Alpine and can not get any output to the sub. Alpine told me this was a known problem, but the fix they suggested didn't work. I finally hooked speaker level inputs to my sub and adjusted it manually. I hope to solve the problem someday. I will keep trying. It has been like a second job trying to figure it out. Don't buy one or if you do get ready to return it.

First off I bought this unit to replace an old Clarion Pro Audio EQ that died. It is being used in a complete aftermarket system. So if your looking to buy this unit to interface a factory head unit you mileage may vary from mine.
Kenwood Head unit, 80x4 amp, 300X1 amp, Alpine separates in doors, Boston Acoustics in the back, and a Rockford Fosgate DVC 12" Sub. Install was straight forward and took me no time. When using the PXE with line level inputs it bypasses the AntEq. So I put my volume to 30 out of 35, front and rear amp gain to 1/2, Sub to 1/4, aux input gain to just below clipping and ran the calibration. Once done my heart sank with how low the sound coming out of the speakers was, then my fingers found the volume button on the remote whew. As I tuned up the volume my smile got proportionately bigger. Like another reviewer stated the sound stage alone is worth the money. A few tweaks of the parametric eq, crossover points and the sub level in the custom settings and my system now sounds so much better then before. Warm, tight, and loud with no distortion. The only reason I didn't give it 5 stars was because I think the parametric eq should have 2 more frequencies if you can't play with the "512 band" eq

Pro:It did help my setup sound allot better, but not perfect.5band param eq on my MP3,but currently not using it
Con:Outputs are too low(amps turned up till got allot of hiss).Subs distort earlier than expected. It just applies a crossover to these 2 front channels & treats it as 1 channel when it calibrates.I would have bought 1 less amp if I knew this. Also, more adjustability after the calibration, like the ability to adjust the 512 band eq
Helpful hint:Sub+/- setting affects the calibration(the bass, mid&treb dont affect calibration)Some reviews said bass was too quite, they probably had the sub+ turned up when they calibrated. The manual didnt include this info.I pressed sub- all the way down. Then pressed sub+ 4 times. Then go thru the calibration.I used the laptop for calibration, because it helps you w/line level matching of the 6 channels, also might min distortion.
Subs distort earlier than expected. To fix,set the line levels to have PXE650 subtract few db on the subs & add few db to the rest of the speakers on calibration. This might help w/background hiss, since the door amps wont need to be turn up as much Calibration needs 4 positions.Position 1=drivers seat.Position 2=passengers seat. The other 2,you choose. The last 2 positions seem to be averaged into the overall calibration, because freq response varies,if you review the laptop logs.My sub response varied, pending on positions chosen.
