I read ALL good reviews on these, then bought these to replace OEM front speakers, replaced one and hooked stereo back up to briefly compare the two and I honestly didn't hear a significant difference, although I haven't installed my amp yet.
ONE thing that I have read NOWHERE in any specs or reviews: On the INSIDE flap of the box it reads :
WARNING: this product contains a high performance tweeter. If there is a tweeter already installed in your car, then you must disconnect its terminals. If you leave the original tweeter connected and connect this product in parallel, then a fault may develop in this product, so you are strongly recommended not to do so.
That is precisely what i had intended on doing, replacing my 5.25" with alpines, and also upgrading the tweeter in my stock 6-speaker buick. Why is this warning hidden on the inside of the box and not on any sites?

I put these in the back of my 1995 Honda civic coupe, they were like amazing, i put them in the back and still have 6 1/2 component front speakers to install, i will leave feedback for them later, anyway back to these, AMAZING, so clear, highs and mids and awesome, bass is there but it wont make your mirrors shake or anything but its very clear, keep in mind i dnt have them on an amp, they are jsut running off the alpine cda-9885, you won't regret buying these i promise.

I have a 2006 Acura TSX non-navi stock headunit.
The stock door speakers seemed tired and really output too much bass and not enough mids and highs (even with the stock tweeters). I decided a fun project would be to replace them.
The first set sent were infinity 6032cf's which sounded good for 2 minutes, but the stock amp cut them off. Warning: know the OHMs (impedence rating) of your amplifier before buying speakers. If the speaker ohms are lower than the amp's, the speaker will draw too much power, causing your amp to shut down. (Which mine did).
My second set were Boston S55's which were, in my opinion a downgrade from stock. Highs were clear as a bell, but a speaker blew in 2 days and it was one of the dual tweeters. Very disconcerting.
Alas! The Alpine SPR-13C! They are a tad too deep for my install, but I made it work. In 3 days of use, i am very impressed at their ability to handle the entire spectrum - mids and highs and CLEAN bass - something I haven't heard in my car - ever! In fact, these are so clean, i'm hearing one of my rear door speakers is blown - i never would have known. These won't fit back there, but wow - i would buy another set if I knew I could fit them. The audio in my car now sounds like the luxury car its masquerading as.
I now know that Alpine isn't hype, and you get what you pay for. Thanks to C-Field for the quick and easy returns, and great customer support!

I put these in my front door, along with 6 and a half inch kenwoods in the rear, powered by the pioneer 760 watt amp and its the most incredible sound ive ever heard. If you want music that that has ZERO distortion, and awesome mids and highs then theres no substitute for the type R's. Its worth the money trust me!
