These mounts come with both M5 and M4 size metric screws to match the Bose speakers they're designed for. The Klipsch HD500 speakers require a 1/4-20 US thread size. I purchased four internal to external 1/4-20 to M4 thread adapters to screw into the speakers. This allows the M4 screw from the Bose hardware package to perfectly match the Klipsch speaker. The instructions indicate the plastic alignment plate can be discarded in some cases, which is the case here. The curved surface on the back of the Klipsch matches the Bose mounting arm, and everything tightens up nicely for a clean solid mount. The positioning mechanism is well designed, allowing you to change the angle both L/R and up/down with one screw. This mount (when used for "on-wall") also holds the speaker close to the wall, not the 2+ inches I've seen with some other designs. Exactly what I was looking for.

I highly recommend using these brackets. They attach perfectly to the Bose speakers and provide a very secure mount. They are very heavy duty and have a nice finish. I would beware of so call "universal mounts". They may be cheap, but you get what you pay for.

These fit the Bose speakers perfectly, and mount easily. I have them fixed onto wood beams in a post and beam house, and they are almost invisible. Great flexibility in moving the speakers.
