I bought these speaker brackets for my newer construction house that is pre-wired for 5.1
So, I have 5 electrical boxes (gang box) in ceiling covered with wallplates. The standard wallplate has one screw hole on each end. But these BOSE brackets require 4 mounting holes and brackets are much small in size. They will install great on ceiling if you do not have any electrical box to worry about at all.... but do not think it will install on top of existing box.
However, the bracket design is very slick!! ...so slick that i had to think of workaround.... so, i bought standard size steel wallplates from home depot, welded bose bracket on back of it, drilled small hole for speaker wire, spray painted the steel plates and mounted on ceiling. I am sure there are many people like me (previous poster) but surprised there are no grey market accessories to serve here.

Slick Install |

I bought these mounts for the AM10 IV I just bought. My house was already pre wired for surround sound and the decorative plates and associated cutouts were too big for these mounts to cover completely. I had to offset the mounts a little bit but the install was all good from then on. My only complaint is there really isn't a good place to conceal the wires from the ceiling, leaving a bit of exposure. Probably only enough for me to notice though.
