After 6 months of analysis and saving, I take the decision to purchase it. 30 days after use all the gadgets of it, I need to say that the sound and video is perfect. Price is ok, if you evaluate the market.
Connecting all the HDMI and fiber optic cables was simple. Wii, Turntable, DVR, and Satellite receivers were also easy. MP3 and the Internet were straightforward as plug and play. Speakers connectors, always is a difficult process, but was completed. Programming the sound with the included microphone was cool, and as a matter of fact, the microphone test discovers an inverse speaker connection.
HDMI Video is perfect and HD FM music is a clean as a CD. The receiver optical output is perfect for make great recordings after connecting it to the digital input of my CD recordable.
After a month of use, my actual challenge is to continue learning the remotes. They are a little difficult, and as the majority said, the instructions manual needs another manual to be understand! For me, the GUI helps a lot.
Important: after read several opinions, that the firmware upgrade generates more problems than solutions, I decide not to upgrade. Take note that the receiver will present the option to upgrade every time it is connected to the Internet. But for me, is a simple as select cancel.
In conclusion, my old Denon (2803 A/V), that before this purchase was an excellent receiver, now is a "good" receiver. As a matter of fact, is on sale...

I just purchased this receiver about 2 weeks ago. I've had my eye on this unit for some time. The performance did not disappoint. The Audyssey setup is simple and very effective. The video is outstanding. I love having Dolby and DTS capabilities. I would recommend this unit to everyone.

Purchased this reciever as it was on-sale. Liked all the features and the price. Setup was easy, as many have commented, the manual is written poorly. Played great once I got it all setup and working, even was able to sucessfully update the Firmware. After about a week the receiver would "freeze" when the input was changed. Called tech support to do a reset back to the factory settings, lost all my settings and then the Network card stopped working. Ended up returning the unit, did not purchase another Denon.
Good Points: 1) Lots of great features 2) Networkable...can configure from your PC via the Web Interface 3) On-Screen Graphical Interface is really slick 4) Lots of on-line resources
Bad Points 1) Network Card failed within a week of setup 2) Does not support HDMI 1.4 3) User Manual is written very poorly

Purchased this receiver about a month ago, and have loved every minute of using it. If you are technical enough to set it up yourself, you should have no problem getting this system to perform to your liking, however if you are not, I recommend having someone set it up for you.
This replaced my old Pioneer receiver, and has given me a renewed love for my Klipsch 12" sub. This receiver pushes that sub so much better, that I was surprised when I watched an action movie with the new receiver.
Use the Audyssey setup system that is built in to get the initial settings in, but also when it asks for the 2nd, and 3rd listening positions, use them even if you don't have other seating positions that you want to setup with. It made a huge difference in the setup and tone of the system when I allowed it to use those positions. It seems to me that the first position just does not get enough info to setup the EQ correctly.
The dynamic sound feature really helps with movies, as most of the time the voice is just too quiet. I use dynamic sound for movies, but turn it off for music. The upconversion works well, this is however the first unit I have used with it so I don't really have a base comparison. I have used it for some of my older game systems so that they don't look so horrible on the HDTV, and it seems to work well, without a lag that I was expecting.
Overall I'm extremely happy with this purchase and would recommend it to anyone looking for a powerful and feature full AV Receiver.

Denon AVR3310 Ci Rocks the House |

I got my Denon AVR3310ci about 6 months ago. I am driving a 5.1 system with the large Studio Series Towers. This thing just rocks the house. Put on Iron Man ...the opening scene... the sound is visceral when the first rocket hits and bullets begin to fly. My speakers will have you ducking and hiding. The up-conversion on the video is also nice. I feed my DVD server component video to the Amplifier and it up-converts to the HDMI going to my Projector with Autoscope. What an image. I love this amp and you will too. I do recommend that you have it professionally installed by a CEDIA Certified tech who has taken the 8 hours of class room instruction on how to set this thing up. Making it play is one thing, while making it perform is another. It is worth the $200 to have a trained professional hook this up and make if SING!
