Denon's AVR-4311CI is a true centre of entertainment for your home. It has the power and control to deliver an amazingly realistic home theatre experience, even in large rooms. The '4311 comes ready to handle 3D video, and decodes the high-res surround sound formats that make Blu-ray movies so riveting. Nine amplified channels give you all kinds of speaker connection choices — surround sound, biamplification of compatible front speakers, or music in two other rooms. Its networking capabilities let you pull music from your computer or the Internet. You can plug your iPod® straight into the receiver's front panel, or upgrade to Apple AirPlay® for ultra-convenient access to your iTunes® library — no dock needed.

Hear your iPod® sing a sweeter tune

Quite a few receivers have a USB input, but the AVR-4311CI's front-panel USB is special. It has dedicated iPod support — you simply connect your iPod or iPhone using its supplied cable, and press Play on the receiver's remote. More goodness: Instead of sound quality that's limited by the iPod's made-for-earbuds audio circuitry, digital audio is sent straight to the Denon's high-quality DACs, so all your favourite tunes will sound better. Or plug in a USB thumb drive or hard disk drive loaded with your music. Switch on Denon's Compressed Audio Restorer mode to flesh out the sound of your MP3 collection.

Outstanding picture quality from every video source

The AVR-4311CI has you covered whether you're spinning up the Blu-ray or winding up the VCR. Seven 1080p-compatible HDMI inputs let you connect your best high-def video components — even a 3D Blu-ray player — and switch easily among them. Analog-to-HDMI conversion sends all of your video sources to your TV using a single HDMI cable, which streamlines system setup and preserves maximum picture quality for each source. Powerful onboard video processing automatically upconverts all your video sources all the way up to 1080p. That means your DVD collection and other non-HD sources will look their best on your high-def TV. And with two HDMI outputs, you can even watch your movie in two places at once with a second TV or projector.

Easy access to PC music and the endless variety of Internet radio

The '4311CI offers plenty of digital music options, too. Just run a network cable to access music files and JPEG photos stored on your computer. View track titles on your TV and select the tunes you want to hear using the receiver's remote. You can also explore Internet radio stations over your broadband connection. A built-in HD Radio™ tuner lets you listen to the free digital over-the-air programming that many AM and FM stations now broadcast. Or, add an optional SIRIUS home tuner to receive your favourite satellite radio channels.

Unleash your iTunes® music — upgrade to AirPlay®

Apple's exciting AirPlay technology lets you access your favourite music from your iPhone®, iPad™, iPod touch®, or your iTunes library on your computer using this Denon receiver. You'll be able to control iTunes and see music information, including your album art, track titles, and artist info on your compatible Apple device, or on your TV. First you will need a firmware upgrade for $49.99. Go to www.usa.denon.com and click on the AirPlay banner for instructions on how to purchase and activate the upgrade. Requires a wireless home network. Receiver requires wired connection to the router.

Auto room calibration makes every spot a sweet spot

For the most accurate home theatre sound possible in your room, Denon equipped this receiver with Audyssey MultEQ® XT32, a sophisticated automatic speaker calibration system. You can measure up to 32 listening positions for sheer sonic perfection. There's even a special mode to tune your subwoofer — what a difference it makes when your sub is correctly dialed in. Watch a video on how Audyssey MultiEQ improves sound in your room.

The '4311CI uses the included microphone to analyze sound then automatically adjusts individual level, equalization, and delay settings for each of your speakers. You'll hear precise, uniform sound across a wide listening area instead of just a single "sweet spot," so everyone in the room can enjoy optimized home theatre sound.

Functionality lost since 4308 October-10-11
Reviewer: PaulH from Bentonville AR
I owned a Denon AVR-4308ci which got damaged by lightening. I purchased the Denon 4311ci as a replacement. Although the 4311 has a bit more power even though 4311 and 4308 are both rated at 140W, the 4311 LOST zone assignment functionality that the 4308 had. With the 4308, I could run 3 powered zones simultaneously with different sources. The 4311 will only allow 2 powered zones at the same time. You have to buy aseparate amplifier to power a 3rd zone. So, don't think that the 4311 will simply replace your 4308. On the up side, the 4311 has a more intuitive remote control than the 4308 did and the aux remotes that came with the 4308 will also run the 4311. The 4311 also supports 2 subwoofers which is nice.
[Editor's Note: Our Product Research team looked into this and the receiver does have 3 powered Zones. The Main Zone, Zone 2, & Zone 3. You must assign the Surround back channels for Zone 2 and the Front Wide channels for Zone 3 in the receiver's menu. The Main Zone will then be limited to 5.1ch.]

Awesome AVR Denon Receiver 4311 March-22-11
Reviewer: rraallpphh13 from Fort lauderdale, Fl
Awesome receiver, remote control has been updated and is the best Denon remote control in my opinion. Just incredible.  Receiver is awesome with Pandora, High Definition Radio just to name a few features.  The clarity, sound, power is what you expect when you pay a premium price. Just a solid receiver sure to last till the next major electronic gadget comes out into the market.  As for the 3D, yes it's ready and capable. But in my case, 3D isn't for me. I just get dizzy looking  3D. But this is just me. I also have a Denon AVR4310, and it's difficult to hear the difference, but I believe the 4311 is a bit clearer, maybe a bit to high, but sounds awesome regardless.  Blu-Ray movies sounds just out of this world on my 4311.  Hope this helps!  Ralph Fort Lauderdale
