I bought this sub to use with Martin Logan Motion 12's (great midrange and highs - bottom needs a little help) in my basement 2.1 set up, but decided to "test it" with my main 5.1 system, and now I cant seem to part with it. Playing movies, SACD & DVDA's, CD's - you name it, it sounds great. No subteranean lows, but fast, musical, accurate lows that make everything sound better. Surpassed my expectations.

Clean Controlled Performance |

This modestly priced sub woofer is perfect for providing the missing lower frequency sound you need. I come from an audiophile background and I notice boom and mud in any sub woofer very quickly. I use a pair of these in a higher end system for both music and film. They are clean, well controlled and blend into the sonic hologram beautifully. Plenty of punch for medium size rooms. Good fit and finish quality. Mirage has a full time staff to answer your most technical questions about this unit. What a bargain it is!

An Audiophile Sub |

This is clearly an audiophile subwoofer. Unlike some that offer only boom and no definition, this one is nicely defined, tight and fast. The controls, which are accurate and sensitive, are conveniently placed on the front, saving always have to tilt the unit forward (or move it altogether) to see what you're doing when changing volume or timbre. I have mine running at quite a low volume, well away from the nearest EPOS ELS-3, providing me with everthing I need. The frequency tuning is also quite sensitive, allowing you to dial in exactly where it needs to be. If you want/need it to crank, it certainly will, but I like it for it's delicacy and speed.

SUB FOUND! |

Once again, Crutchfield has exceeded expectations! I have been researching for over one year, not ready to buy until sure. When this MIRAGE dropped to $249- I finally decided to go Mirage Omni S8. Not even broken in yet, the sub provided the "something" I was missing. I have the Marantz SR 6003, (from Crutchfield), the Marantz BD 7004, (Crutchfield), and the Marantz CC4003 5-disc (you guessed it, Crutchfield), and Polk Audio RTi-7's. I added the Mirage Sub, set Fronts "Large", low-pass 80Hz, and phase 0, and sub volume at midway, and WAS DIALED IN. Ziggy from Crutchfield handled my order, and in 6 days sub was found! Thanks to Ziggy, Crutchfield (service extraordinarre), I am enjoying music/movies for a fantastic price overall, with the best customer satisfaction I could have imagined! I will be back to Crutchfield for more, and will tell friends. (My Dad is soon to buy a TV)

Mirage Omni S8 is a Great Value |

The Mirage Omni S8 is a great subwoofer for the price. It is being utilized with a Yamaha Amplifier so the crossover is not being used. I only have the S8 on half output and it is cranking out solid quality low frequency sounds. Even at high output, the bass tones are very crisp. Great Product.
