The device works as intended, flawlessly. Installation is easy, straight forward, and completely within the capabilities of a beginner. Unfortunately, the device accepts Radio Frequency interference from the vehicle's charging system which results in a faint whine heard from the speakers, but only under heavy (extended application of Wide Open Throttle) acceleration. A noise condenser incorporated into the device's circuitry would've been a simple proactive solution to such a problem. Otherwise, I am very pleased with the device's function and performance!

This adapter works perfectly. I didn't get any weird electrical noises or interference coming through, just a clean full-range stereo auxiliary audio connection.
I have a 98 Acura CL w/o a CD Changer, so I plugged this device into the back of the Factory Stereo (which requires removing it). Install wasn't difficult (the Master Sheets had all the instructions) but the 98 Acuras were built to make their stereos hard to steal, so it took about 1/2 hr to pull the center console, and carefully pull the wood trim and whatnot to get the head unit out w/o breaking anything. I connected a stereo Y-cable from the adapter, zip-tied it behind the dash so it wouldn't rattle around, drilled a hole in the back of the pocket shelf below my stereo and pulled the cable through. Put it all back together and voila! When I leave the car I fold the cable into the pocket shelf and you'd never know it was there, totally hidden. I could plug into the headphone jack on my iPhone 4, but instead I used a 1/8" female-female coupler between the Y cable and my Kensington Bluetooth LiquidAux adapter. This thing let's you stream music, hear GPS instructions, make/receive calls ALL Hands-free over Bluetooth AND CHARGES my iPhone 4 all at the same time! It even has a wireless remote that straps to your steering wheel (I strapped mine to the e-brake) And now it all comes over my car stereo's speakers. It's the perfect solution.

I've had this product installed for about a week and I really enjoy having the ability to listen to my mp3 player in the car. The sound quality is great.
I only gave it 4 stars because of a few quirky issues:
1. The cord that is included with the item is very short. The converter box doesn't even reach the floor in my 97 Honda Civic.
2. The build quality doesn't seem too high. It's basically a cheap plastic box with a few wiring connections and lots of empty space inside.
3. No mounting hardware is included. This is a minor complaint because the box doesn't even reach the floor to be mounted anyways.
These are all just small quirks that don't really affect the functionality of the product and overall it does what it's supposed to very well. Given that I couldn't find any comparable alternatives to this item I would buy another one if I lost this item or it was stolen. Crutchfield was fine in handling the order and I have no complaints towards purchasing from them.

I needed a new way to hook up my mp3 player after my cassette player finally kicked the bucket - looking back, I should have switched to this adapter MUCH sooner. Set up was very straightforward. I hooked this up in the trunk of my Acura, where the factory 6-disc CD Changer is located. Fished the audio cables through to the center console.... and I'm up and running again. 5 stars so far. Hopefully this will last as long as my car.

its a superb product, excellent if not perfect audio quality, installation was rather easy, however i'd make the cord a bit longer. maybe 2ft instead of 1ft. would just allow for easier access to the left/right audio jacks.
