bought this to replace stock stereo in 01 toyota tundra for use with sirius and ipod. works great and crutchfields install kit fit perfect, almost looks stock, and wiring harness was dead on. deck seems to work great and ipod function is fast and easy to navigate. it lets you search by playlist, song, artist, album, etc. and has no lag time to me. lots of features i haven't even used but seem easy enough to figure out by reading the manual. i hooked up a sportster 4 through the aux for the sat. radio so i can't comment on the sat ready feature. i'm also not to savvy when it comes to amps and subs, i just hooked this up to the stock speakers, but it seems to have all the features one might want to upgrade or add other components. my only complaint is you have to turn the volume knob quite a bit to raise or lower the volume, not that big a deal. forgot to mention the ipod function needs the pioneer cd-i200 that crutchfield has. would recommend this deck and definitely crutchfield to anyone who's listening.

I am very pleased with this receiver. The sound is clean and accurate, and the design is very clean. Ipod control is great, with fast response and awesome sound. Crutchfield supplies all of the necessary install gear allowing even a nubie like me to do my own install. Only gripe is that I would like to dim the display at night, but this is minor. Buy with confidence - its a great value!

Gripe 1 - the dealbreaker: My main use for this stereo was to shuffle through a disc full of MP3 audio files in 1 or 2 folders. It turns out that with the stereo in random play mode, pressing "next" on the stereo does not take you to a random track; it only takes you to the next track in whatever order the files are listed on the CD. If you want a truly random track, you have to wait for the song to end and then the stereo will choose the next track randomly. I contacted Pioneer tech support, and they confirmed that this was the designed functionality, not just a bug in the firmware.
Gripe 2 - annoying: In order to stop playing a CD - for example, if the phone rings, you need to hold down the dial for 2 seconds. There is no single-press off button, and there is no pause button (though you can activate pause via the menu system, but that takes 3 or 4 keystrokes to accomplish - a horrible interface design, if you ask me). If you're listening to the radio, you can just turn the volume down, but if you're listening to a CD and you want to keep your place, your options are limited.
Gripe 3 - moderately irritating: You cannot turn off the keypress confirmation beep. In my case, I have the steering wheel audio controls, so every time I'd press volume up or down, I'd hear a beep. You don't get this if you just turn the knob, but again, this is something I would have liked to know before I bought the system. Again, I contacted Pioneer tech support, and they said that this was a feature, not a bug.
The audio quality is great, and the tuner is top-notch, but I returned this unit to Crutchfield (they were very helpful with this, by the way) within two days of installing it. Maybe I'm just picking nits, but I would never have purchased this stereo had I known then what I know now.
