First of all, for the price you pay for these, you can't go wrong. The stock speakers in the front doors of my car sounded really distorted, unclear, and just plain bad, so I upgraded to these. Even though there is slightly less bass in these than stock speakers, the improvement in the highs and mids are well worth the trade-off. For now, I will let my rear 6x9"s in the back take care of the bass.
Make sure you get bass blockers with these, because if you force too much bass out of these speakers without them they will blow out. I know from past experience from cranking the bass on my deck in order to squeeze the bass out my rear deck 6x9"s while neglecting the tiny front 5 1/2"s, which wasn't smart.

first off they have no bass at all, less then stock speakers. So if your going to get them u better have a sub. i have a 10' kicker that they go great with. since i have the sub, i don't even notice that they have no bass. I have been blasting them every time I get in the car and have had them for 9 months and they sound like they did the day i installed them. they have great highs and mids and are the best speakers you will get for this price range.

Purchased to replace blown stock speakers...so, GREAT improvement! Speakers sound good for normal stereo use. The installation info and harness kit provided worked perfectly...made installing the speakers a breeze. Much appreciated!

I have had Pioneer speakers in many of my vehicles, and partially chose these based on prior experience, knowing the general sound characteristics they would have. On that level I am very happy that they sounded the way I thought they would. These speakers I used to replace the factory rears in my car, and coupled with a massive add-on subwoofer I am not disappointed. The speakers by themselves sound clearer, especially in the midrange, than the factory speakers, with just a little better high frequency response as well. As for bass, I can't say and it doesn't matter to me because of the aforementioned subwoofer. But without a doubt they sound better than factory, and the price is a real winner. So for a modest upgrade or to flesh out a system, a big thumbs up. Sure you can get better, cleaner, and more elaborate, but you will have to pay more for that. For my needs, these are near perfect!
