I bought these not knowing alot about component speakers and after a couple days of research I chose these speakers, And it was a very good choice. I have these powered by a Profile AP600 amp and its more than enough power. I only have the amp gain set to halfway!!! The tweeters on this set are amazing. Very clear and very high. You can hear tones and vocals in songs that you've never heard on regular speakers. I gave it a 4 because the mids seem to lack the ability to go down to 35hz that they are rated at and distort. But all in all the Bass Is pretty good after a good 2 hour break in.

I KNOW ALOT OF PEOPLE WHO WOULD SAY BEST ON MARKET LIKE JL AUDIO AND SO ON. ALPINE TYPE X PROS ARE AWSOME SOUND AND CAN HANDLE TREMEDAS POWER. I HAVE TWO SETS OF THESE IN MY FORD EXPLORER AND ARE HOOKED UP TO A PDX 4.150. THE SPEAKERS ARE RATED 100 RMS AND HANDLE THE POWER JUST FINE. IF U BUY MUST GET AMP OR WILL HAVE DISTORTAN DUE TO UNDER POWERED SPEAKERS, WHICH ACCOURS WITH ANY BRAND. ALPINE IS THE BEST BRAND ON THE MARKET WHEN IT COMES TO TYPE X. LOUD AND QUALITY SOUND
