Great Picture and audio quality via HDMI.
Enjoy the HD 1080 almost as good as BluRay.
Just remember that in order to enjoy all this You need a 1080i display + a good amp with HDMI input.
Without this it's just a good DVD player.

Have 40" SONY Bravia LCD TV / Pioneer Amplifier Bought this because old Toshiba DVD player died.
Pros - Great Picture quality via HDMI - Easy set up - Great Sound quality Cons - High Pitched tone, like a PC modem only not as loud - only present when unit put into standby. Noise apparent from any outlet in home
Summary, I couldn't live with the high pitched sound, bought a SONY instead and issue resolved. Crutchfield support and return service were exceptional whilst trying to resolve this issue.

Perfect Match with Toshiba LCD |

I've had this unit for over 3 months now and have viewed many DVDs using it. It is paired to my Toshiba Regza 42XV540U, using an HDMI cable kit (purchased from Crutchfield). The LCD TV automatically found the unit and set it up for me for automatic recognition. Now, all I have to do is drop a DVD in and the TV is automatically showing the DVD.
The upscaling works perfectly. Looking at a 480i DVD in 1080i makes all the difference in the world; almost as good as BluRay. But, it's wasted on any LCD or Plasma display that is not 1080i rated. So, remember that when purchasing: You need a 1080i display to get the full effect of the upscaling.
Crutchfield customer service easily addressed all of my questions and even suggested a Monster HDMI cable kit that made the install and set-up even easier. Everything arrived ahead of the scheduled date and there was no damage in the shipment. That's the type of thing I expect from Crutchfield and they've never disappointed me in every purchase I've made.
However, I know you can pair this unit to any TV out there. But, you will lose the recognition feature that pairing the unit to a Toshiba brand TV will give you. Good thing to remember!

This product is excellent quality for picture, and produces awesome sound! The thing I like the most is having a Regza link produced for Toshiba DVD to Toshiba HD 1080 TV. This makes the picture outstanding and very life like! It feels like you are actually there in the picture! If you own a Toshiba HD TV I highly recommend this product to go along with your TV!

I had heard much hype concerning this player, reviews and analogy from consumers and experts about its assets and liabilities, so I decided to see for myself..The main attraction is the XDE enhancement feature that supposedly gives the PQ added sharpness, color and contrast (sharpness is on in all selections with exception of 'off'..the 'off' choice disables XDE from any enhancing whatsoever)....My experience, to make a long story short, was both good and bad..the XDE enhancement was not to my liking on most dvd's (creates an overlay that seems a bit artificial and 'ringing' no matter what the resolution or selection you make..just did not seem natural or film like) but with the XDE set to off, looked quite good..Not any better than two other upconverters that I have, but not any worse.. I will give this a 4 stars rating for that reason and that reason alone, but in my humble opinion, it is not worth the pricing that Toshiba is now asking..Some may like the artificial sharpening and highlighting this player is capable of, but it just didn't do it for me..As for dealing with Crutchfield, they are the best in the business..Ordering was very easy and professional (did it by phone), and the return process the same. Can't say enough about the service rendered in that respect..
