Features

Virtually Invisible Wireless Surround Speakers: Designed exclusively to wirelessly pair with the Bose SoundTouch 300 soundbar (018ST300; sold separately), the Virtually Invisible 300 wireless surround speakers provide theater-like sound to your movies, sports, and TV shows. The Bose Virtually Invisible 300 wireless surround speakers are intended for use in the same room as the SoundTouch 300 soundbar and have a range of approximately 30'.

Note: Thanks to the included wireless receivers, you will not need to run speaker wire from the surround speakers back to the soundbar. However, you will still need to run speaker wire from the surround speakers to the wireless receivers and plug the wireless receivers into AC outlets.

Wireless Receivers: Each wireless surround speaker comes with a wireless receiver, a 19.5' speaker cable, and a 5' AC power cord. The two lengths of 19.5' speaker cable screw into the back of the speakers and then plug into the wireless receivers. The wireless receivers will also need to be plugged into AC outlets for power using the included 5' AC power cords.

Note: To wirelessly pair the surround speakers to a SoundTouch 300 soundbar, you will need to place the soundbar into pairing mode using its remote control. Once paired, the speakers emit a tone. You must also set the wireless receivers to indicate which surround speaker is Left or Right.

Mounting & Placement Options: The wireless surround speakers feature a rubber base, so they can be securely placed on speaker stands, shelves, or end-tables. You can also mount the speakers to walls or a ceiling using proprietary mounting brackets from Bose (sold separately). It's best to place the wireless surround speakers behind the main listening area, one on the left side and one on the right, for optimum sound quality. Other placement recommendations include -

  • Place the speakers on their rubber feet on a stable and level surface.
  • Place the speakers at ear height or higher in the back of the room.
  • If placing the speakers in an enclosed bookcase shelf, position them at the front edge of the shelf.
  • For a sound that is directed straight at the listener, aim the speakers in towards the listener.
  • For a sound that reflects off the walls to fill the room, aim the speakers out towards a rear or side wall.
Note: To avoid interference, keep other wireless equipment 1-3' away from the wireless receivers. Place the speakers and wireless receivers outside and away from metal cabinets, other audio/video components and direct heat sources.

ADAPTiQ Audio Calibration: After connecting the Virtually Invisible 3000 wireless surround speakers to the SoundTouch 300 soundbar, run ADAPTiQ audio calibration for the best acoustic performance. ADAPTiQ customizes the sound of the system to the acoustics of your listening area by taking five audio measurements. To run an audio calibration, you need 10 minutes when the room is quiet.

Note: During ADAPTiQ, a microphone on the top of the ADAPTiQ headset (provided with the SoundTouch 300 soundbar) measures the sound characteristics of your room to determine optimal sound quality.

Q
What wall brackets? Bought UB-20 and won't work

I keep mine on shelves, but give the WB-50 Slide Connects a look. Bose website says it is compatible with these speakers. Crutchfield sells the WB-50s for $34.99 each.

I did not buy wall brackets for my surround speakers; Instead, I acquired the speaker stands made by BOSE (which are awesome, by the way).

I got the floor stands and they work great if that is an option for you?

Do these work with the SR1's?

Primarily, you made a really great choice with your selection of speakers. I own a sound bar 300, and they work fine with me. however, I'm not sure if they would work with yours, but they should as long as you have Bluetooth/wireless connection. Good luck!

Q
Where do you put the wireless receiver for these speakers when you mount them on the wall? Do you run the wire down inside the wall and then hook the receiver to it before you plug it into the wall?
john  Jan 01, 2018

A
We did not mount them on the wall, they are sitting on a small pedestal. We put the speaker on top of the receiver. I guess if you want to hang them, it will work since the wires are long enough.

In my case, I don't have my speakers mounted. They sit up high on shelves, and the large wireless receiver boxes actually are sitting on the floor. The cord is quite long from the wireless box to the speaker so you have some options, but the code from the wireless receive box to the OUTLET is only about five feet. So THAT part of the cord isn't long enough to sit on my shelves with the speakers. It is difficult to hide the cords. So, basically, you need to put the wireless receive somewhere relatively low in the room so it can reach an outlet (unless you have outlets located higher on your walls), but you can still put the little speakers up high. It's a little frustrating not to be able to hide the cord from the outlet to the receiver and then the additional cord to the speaker ... if you are renovating or building new, I suggest putting some electrical outlets up high where you might want to mount your wireless speakers. These wireless speakers work GREAT by the way ... and even with the challenge of hiding the receive and cords, this is SO much better than running expensive wiring around the perimeter of the room. (Been there, done that). I think you'll love these if you buy them!

Mine are on a bookcase behind the listeners. The receivers are hidden behind books.

Will these work with the Solo5 Bose?
mike  Sep 02, 2017

They will not work with the Solo 5 sound system. The Solo 5 was not designed for surround speakers. These speakers do work with the SoundTouch 300 soundbar: http://www.crutchfield.com/p_018ST300/item.html My Bio: http://www.crutchfield.com/Support/Bio.aspx?bio=101

The Bose 30 wireless surround speakers do not offer any audio output for connecting a powered subwoofer. I hope that helps. My Bio: http://www.crutchfield.com/Support/Bio.aspx?bio=5

what is the best compatible wall bracket for the rear speakers?

Mine are located in a bookcase not wall mounted. I don't see any screw holes in the back but there is a groove that looks like it may be wall mountable. I hope this helps. They are great lil surround speakers. Love them!
