Lots of audio options

You'll enjoy AM/FM/Weather radio, of course, plus built-in Bluetooth® that lets you stream music from your smartphone. Whether you're outfitting a small boat or an ATV, the GR10BT is a great choice. The big, bright LED display stays visible in all kinds of light, while the watertight, UV-stable face and controls will stand up to sun, salt, moisture, and muck. You can use the rear-mounted preamp outputs to expand your system with a marine amp in the future.

General Features

Water-Resistant Design: Clarion's GR10BT is built to withstand the harsh and wet environment of marine usage, by virtue of an IPX5 rated water-resistant front-panel and IPX3 rated chassis. The GR10BT meets or exceeds ASTM D4329 (UV Exposure) and ASTM B117 (Salt Fog Exposure).

Highly Visible Oversized LCD: The high-contrast LCD enables you to quickly confirm details like the song title or artist name, at a glance. The oversized LCD display offers clear visibility during day or night. In addition, buttons positioned along the rim of the circular face enable quick, stress-free access to functions.

Mounting Options: The Clarion GR10BT is a 3" gauge-style marine receiver, so it fits perfectly in an existing 3" gauge opening on your boat. If your boat does not already have a 3" opening, the GR10BT requires a round cutout in the bulkhead for inserting the chassis. The integrated protective gasket, supplied U-bracket, and included hardware secure the unit in place against the mounting surface. Receiver dimensions are as follows -

  • Chassis: 2.975" (diameter) x 3.375" (depth)
  • Face-Plate: 4.0625" (diameter) x 1.0625" (depth)
  • Cutout: 3" (diameter) x 3.8125" (depth)
Note: The receiver is round and does not include a mounting sleeve or ISO-mount screw holes to accommodate standard automotive installation.
Variety of Sources

Bluetooth Audio Streaming: Built-in Bluetooth 2.1 (A2DP/AVRCP) provides stereo streaming with a wide variety of Bluetooth compatible devices like your smartphone or tablet (including Apple iOS & Android). Play stored music and music apps on your connected Bluetooth source device with wireless convenience through the GR10BT. You can even control basic music playback functions such as Play/Pause & Previous/Next Track from the GR10BT's front-panel controls. The unit will also display song/artist/album info.

Note: The Clarion GR10BT does not support Bluetooth hands-free phone communication.

USB MSC Playback: The Clarion GR10BT is equipped with a rear-panel USB (type-A) port attached to its rear chassis by a 7" cable. The USB port supports the playback of MP3 and WMA format audio files (up to 9,999) stored on a USB MSC (mass storage class) device formatted in FAT or FAT32, like a USB thumbdrive or portable digital music player. Playback & Search controls include Folder/Track Select, Play/Pause, Previous/Next Track, & Repeat (Folder/Track). The unit will also display song/artist information. In addition, the USB port (5V.1.1) will also charge your device while connected and your vehicle is turned on.

Note: The unit's USB port does not support Apple or Android devices.

Aux Input: The GR10BT is outfitted with a stereo RCA auxiliary input for connecting an external audio device with an analog output. The stereo RCA auxiliary input attached to unit's rear-chassis via a 6" cable.

Global Radio Tuner: The built-in AM/FM tuner supports reception of radio stations just about anywhere in the world (including USA, Europe, Asia, and Australia), which is nice when you're sailing around the globe or just across the bay. The built-in tuner offers manual, seek, & preset (18FM/6AM) tuning. There is even a Preset Scan function, so you can quickly search your preset stations.

Weather band selection includes - 162.400MHz (CH.1), 162.425MHz (CH.2), 162.450MHz (CH.3), 162.475MHz (CH.4), 162.500MHz (CH.5), 162.525MHz (CH.6), and 162.550MHz (CH.7).

Audio Section

Built-In 16W x 4Ch Amplifier: The Clarion GR10BT features a 16 watt (RMS) / 45 watt (Peak) x 4 channel amplifier.

Note: The power specifications for the GR10BT are compliant with the CTA-2006 Mobile Amplifier Power Testing and Measurement standards from the Consumer Technology Association (CTA). These standards were developed as a way to equitably compare power specs from model to model and between manufacturers.

4Ch/2V RCA Outputs: The GR10BT is equipped with two pair of 2V preamp outputs (Front, Rear/SW). You can set the Rear/SW preamp outputs for connecting a pair of full-range rear speakers (through an external amplifier) or for connecting a subwoofer (through an external amplifier). When set for rear speakers, the rear outputs operate with the unit's fader control. When set for subwoofer, the outputs are non-fading.

Subwoofer Controls: When the Rear/SW RCA outputs are set to subwoofer, you can select a low pass crossover (80/120/180Hz) and adjust the sub level gain (0-20).

EQ: You can choose between 7 EQ presets - Flat, Pop, Classic, Rock, Techno, Vocal, or Jazz. You can also manually adjust the receiver's Bass (60Hz), Midrange (1kHz), and Treble (10kHz) from -7 to +7.

Key Beep: The marine gauge-style receiver provides an audible beep to confirm button operation. This function can be turned On or Off.

Q
My boat stereo only plays on one side of the boat , how do I get all 4 speakers to play?
mike  Jul 16, 2023
1 answer
A
There is no way for me to diagnose your issue from here, Mike. This does sound like it could be possibly a radio issue, and replacement is needed. I would of course check to make sure that your balance/fade on your existing radio is set centrally so all speakers would be playing with a functioning radio to confirm. Give us a call at 1-800-324-9695 and one of our Advisors can help you select a replacement radio for your boat! We are here to help 7-days a week.

Q
will I need an amp to power two 4" wake tower speakers?
david  Aug 26, 2020
1 answer
A
Yes, I would recommend it. Out on the water you need more power to be able to hear your stereo. At least 200 watt. I put in a Kenwood amp and it works well with this Clarion Marine stereo. The Clarion has an amp control wire that powers up the amp when you turn on the Clarion base unit.

Existing hole is 3-3/8. Is that too big for this unit to work?
brian  Jun 27, 2020
2 answers
A
No you should be ok the outside of gasket is almost 4 inches you may need to bend the legs of the u bracket out alittle
laurence  Jul 03, 2020
A
no, it will fit. The overall diameter of the face plate is 4 in, so it will fit. If you install this in a boat make sure you leave plenty of air space around it. These units get hot when playing music, the face will steam up if it gets too hot. Best to have it out of the direct sunlight on the water as well.

The body of my GRB10T gets very hot, almost too hot to touch. The face is not near as hot. Does anyone else have this issue? It has worked for hours very well, so I do not believe it is a bad connection?
geordy  Apr 07, 2018
2 answers
A
I have not noticed mine getting hot. But the Bluetooth range is terrible. Crutchfield sent me a replacement as Clarion said it was an anomaly, but the replacement has the same issue. It cuts out in as little as 36" if someone walks between the phone and the unit. Same with multiple phones. Have you noticed this? But neither unit seemed to get hot, so you may have a bad one. Good luck!
cameron  Apr 23, 2018

Yes this unit will get hot to the touch.... If you use the biuld in amp will be even more becouse the rear part is the heatsink of the unit biuld in amp

2 ?s 1.how big of a USB flash drive will this reconize? is this USB2 or 3? 2.will the blue tooth play my Oozt angle 3 bluetooth speaker?
steve  Aug 09, 2017
1 answer
A
That's 3 Questions Steve ;-) There is no listed capacity restriction for the USB drives. The receiver will recognize up to 9,999 compatible file types stored on the drive. The USB is 2.0 The built-in Bluetooth will not transmit to external Bluetooth speakers or headphones; it is provided for receiving BT Audio transmitted to it from your BT devices (smartphone, tablet, portable player, etc.) I hope that helps. Q
I am looking to buy this for my friend's boat. He currently has a Clarion system in the living quarters down below and then has a control panel similar to this on the dash up top. He currently doesn't have bluetooth, hence the reason for purchasing this. My concern is that this is a stand alone and cannot connect to the stereo system already in place?
benn  Jun 23, 2017
2 answers
A
I have installed this on my personal boat. This unit works great as a stand alone, totally self contained stereo system. I do not see any information in the instructions or menus that would indicate it has any added capability to act as a remote panel for any other systems.
robert  Jun 24, 2017
A
You will not be able to keep your existing unit. I had something similar in my boat and had to get rid of all the other components.
mark  Jun 23, 2017
Q
Will this fit into the same mounting hole as the MW1 clarion remotes? In addition are there any remotes available for this unit? We would like to have one at the helm (replacing a current Clarion remote and then another form of control at the transom, replacing another Clarion remote).
daniel r  May 04, 2017
1 answer
A
They both need 3" cutout diameter to fit into the hole. This receiver needs around 1.125" more mounting depth than the MW1 remote needed. Also, this receiver's face needs 4" diameter on top of the hole. The remote only need 3.607" for that. As long as you have that extra space, then it can fit where you had the MW1 remote. This receiver does not work with remotes of any kind. If that is a requirement, I recommend contacting an advisor on 1-800-324-9695 for a personal recommendation on a receiver that will work.
