Your 1997-2002 Jeep Wrangler is a great vehicle, but the stock centre console makes it difficult to upgrade the factory radio. Q
do i have to move my ac knobs for this to work?

No you do not have to relocate the hvac controls. Everything stays in the factory location. The only difference is the opening for the stereo. You will have to remove the vents from the old trim piece, and the little metal retaining clips, and use them on the new trim piece. Very good quality, makes the job a lot easier.

No, everything lines up normally. No relocation needed

Q
I ordered this for my 97 Wrangler. It does not come with anything to push on the center springs on the snap into the dash. The two Morton pieces of plastic are there but mine also has two in the center, one and n each side that snaps into the dash like the bottom does. Anyone run into the same thing?

I struggled with this stupid thing for 3 hours; probably tried 20 different on/off trying to get it to line up properly. Then I finally realized that the screw heads from the climate control panel were hitting the screw guides used for newer model jeeps. I cut the 4 screw heads off and everything lined up perfectly and securely. This should be in the instructions!!!! Also, I think they should have utilized the middle clips AND put a better pocket in the ashtray hole that could secure a screw to the back.

I had the same issue in my 01 Wrangler. It doesn't even seem like they planned any way to fix the bottom of the panel to the sub-dash. I had to put 2 wood screws in to keep it secured. Pretty dumb for a $100 piece of plastic.

Mine was the same way, it does away with the middle clips and relies solely on the clips on the bottom. It worked ok but not great. The two bottom clips on the replacement dash piece didn't line up with the stock clips very well and I ended up having to run a small screw through the very bottom of the dash kit and into the plastic behind it to hold it in. I would have returned it but this is the only option I could find for a double din so I made it work
