Customer Q&A

4 questions already asked

Q
Why are these included with the free mounting hardware for one pair of speakers but not another? Both speakers are 4" and would be going in the same location.

A
Sometimes speakers from different manufacturers mount slightly differently, even if the speakers are technically the same size. For more help with your specific vehicle, please give our advisors a call at 1-800-324-9695.

Q
Can I use these to screw into the metal door panel? My JBL speakers don't fit with the universal adapter on the 3 manufacturing holes. Thank you.

A
No those screws will not work for screwing into metal. You will need to get self drilling screws or drill holes in the correct position then you can use those screws.

Q
What's the size of the screw? They're way too long to use for rear speakers on a 2007 Honda Civic Lx Sedan. I don't want to cut these screws or drill holes into the metal of my car.

A
The opposite side of the picture shown.
[ DYLAN  Jan 28, 2014 ]

Should be the flat side. The "raised" area should point away from the work.

I inserted the screw on the side that was indented inward. It worked fine.

This was a while back that I had used these...however if I'm not mistaken one side was flat while the other had a small opening. I used the open side figuring it would be a littler easier and having that screw drill through the solid just made me feel it was a bit more secure. Also while installing the speakers I noticed I had to make new drill holes in the door panels not for all sides of the speakers just one or two so again it just I guess seemed to make more sense to have the opening on the clips face inside the car to wear the screw would enter that first. Let me say this I'm no expert however im running a 15" L5 at 700 RMS and shakes the whole SUV and I've had no issues with these clips failing the way I secured then...so thats some good news :)
