Wired and wireless smartphone integration

With your iPhone® or Android™ smartphone connected, you'll gain a variety of apps that are simple to switch between, whether you're using this radio's touchscreen or voice control. This receiver offers these options:

  • Bluetooth: The DMH-W3800NEX's built-in Bluetooth technology allows you to make hands-free calls and playback, pause, and select audio from your smartphone.
  • Wired and wireless Android Auto: Android Auto integrates the Android platform into your driving experience in a non-distracting way. You'll have voice-control access to Google Maps, weather, music, your phone, and text messages, plus easy access to many of your favourite apps. Get more info at www.android.com/auto.
  • Wired and wireless Apple CarPlay: CarPlay integrates your iPhone® into the driving experience, putting iPhone content at the driver's voice command with minimal distraction. That means easy access to your music library, your phone, messages, navigation, and many third-party streaming music apps, too. Learn more at www.apple.com/ios/carplay.
  • Screen mirroring: If you use apps unsupported by Android Auto or Apple CarPlay, this receiver will mirror your Android and iPhone screen, giving you touchscreen control over your favourite phone features. Requires wired USB connection.
  • Amazon Alexa: With the Weblink and Vozsis apps installed on your phone you can use Alexa voice control to play music, hear the news, check weather, control smart home devices, and more. To learn more about Alexa's features on the DMH-W3800NEX, visit https://www.pioneerelectronics.com/PUSA/Car/Alexa.
  • CarAVAssist: Pioneer's CarAVAssist app supports web browsing, home screen customization, and other functions. You can bookmark websites that you want to enjoy in your car, register your favourite sports teams to receive real-time game updates, make notification settings for your smartphone, and more. The app also allows you to customize your receiver's home screen, including adding your own background image, and to easily perform OTA Firmware updates.

Multiple content options

Got your own music or video library? Load your files onto a USB drive for easy playback through this receiver's USB port, including high-res WAV and FLAC files. If you're looking for radio content that stays with you as you travel, add a SiriusXM tuner (not included) to this Pioneer to enjoy satellite radio's deep programming from coast to coast. The DMH-WT3800NEX also includes a sensitive AM/FM tuner to catch all your local stations.

Dial in your sound

Use the 13-band graphic equalizer and other sound tools to maximize the audio signal of the powerful built-in MOSFET amplifier. And the Sound Retriever applies an algorithm to audio files such as MP3s to enhance the sound of compressed audio files.

If you want more power, three sets of preamp outputs deliver an ultra-clean signal to external amps. For a sophisticated 3-way system, you can switch the front, rear, and subwoofer outputs to 3-way mode with separate outputs for Lows, Mids, and Highs.

Add a rear-view camera with selectable parking lines

With two camera inputs, you can also install front- and rear-view cameras and use the receiver's built-in parking guides to back up safely in any crowded lot. The touchscreen lets you adjust parking lines with ease.

iDatalink Maestro lets you keep your factory extras

Pioneer offers compatibility you won't find in many other aftermarket radios, thanks to the iDatalink Maestro module (not included). In a wide selection of vehicles, this module lets you keep factory features that you'd otherwise lose when you install a new radio. Once you've identified your vehicle, you'll see the iDatalink module offered on the way to the Shopping Cart if it's compatible.

Bluetooth note: Use of this receiver's Bluetooth features will depend upon your phone's Bluetooth capabilities. Learn more in our article explaining Bluetooth profiles.

Smartphone note: If you're going to use your smartphone with this receiver, be sure to check "Details" for compatibility information.

You'll need a wired connection to your parking brake to access settings and other features on this receiver. Your parking brake must be connected and set in order to view video on its screen.

Floating Touchscreen Design

Two-Piece Configuration The Pioneer DMH-WT3800NEX digital multimedia receiver features a two-piece floating display configuration with an external 9" capacitive touchscreen monitor and a separate single-DIN (2") source unit. Separating the large touchscreen monitor from the chassis allows the DMH-WT3800NEX to be installed in a standard single-DIN (2") dash opening. The Pioneer DMH-WT3800NEX will not fit in some vehicles with a single-DIN opening due to its large 9" touchscreen monitor interfering with your vehicle's factory equipment on the dash.

  • Floating Touchscreen Monitor: The floating 9" touchscreen monitor measures 9.215" (w) x 5.375" (h) x 2.5625" (d). Depending on your vehicle's factory radio location and the location of other factory equipment, you may need to adjust the mounting position of the touchscreen monitor in order to prevent impairment of vehicle driving operations. The floating touchscreen monitor offers horizontal, vertical and tilt adjustability to ensure the best fit and usability in your vehicle's dash. These adjustments must be made prior to final installation and cannot be done during operation.
    • Up/Down: The touchscreen monitor can be adjusted vertically (up or down) to prevent interference with climate controls, vents, and other factory equipment. It offers 5 positions of vertical adjustment (up to 2.375"). You can position the monitor so it sits 0.25" below the chassis, 0.875" below the chassis, 1.375" below the chassis, 2.0" below the chassis, or 2.625" below the chassis.
    • Left/Right: The touchscreen monitor can also be moved horizontally (left or right) to prevent interference with climate control, vents, and other factory equipment. It offers 3 positions - Left 1.1875", Centered (default), or Right 1.1875".
    • Forward/Back: In addition, the touchscreen monitor can be adjusted back and forth to allow more or less space between the monitor and the dash kit for a better fit. You can choose from 2 positions - Back (2.125" from front of monitor to dash) or Forward (3.0" from front of monitor to dash).
    • Tilt Angle: You can even adjust the angle of touchscreen monitor for better usability and visibility. In addition to its vertical 90 degree angle (default), the monitor can be adjusted 15 degrees back or 60 degrees forward.
  • Single-DIN Source Unit: The included source unit fits in a standard 2" single-DIN opening (applicable kit, harness, etc. will be required and sold separately for your vehicle). Once the source unit is mounted in the dash, the 9" touchscreen monitor attaches and connects to the front of the source unit using the included hardware and integrated proprietary cables. All of the Pioneer DMH-WT3800NEX's inputs and outputs are found on the rear-panel of the source unit. The amount of the source unit's protrusion from the dashboard/console can be adjusted by shifting the position of the screw holes of this unit to the factory radio-mounting brackets.

Notes: The DMH-WT3800NEX also offers modular and custom installation options (see the Installation section of the Quick Start Guide).

9" Capacitive Touchscreen: The Pioneer DMH-WT3800NEX features a 9" capacitive LCD touchscreen display with a resolution of 1024 (h) x 600 (v). The capacitive LCD touchscreen is highly responsive, powerful, and very intuitive for exceptional control. The capacitive touchscreen offers multi-touch gestures like pinch-to-zoom, plus simple swipe & scroll controls - similar to your smartphone's touchscreen interface. The touchscreen display allows you to control this unit and a connected component such as an iPhone, Android smartphone, Bluetooth phone, or USB mass storage class device. Menus appear on screen for making function choices, audio adjustments, and setting up the system. A non-removable shatterproof film has been applied to the unit's LCD touchscreen for added durability.

  • Split-Screen Mode: With Split-Screen mode you can simultaneously display and control both the Apple CarPlay or Android Auto UI and the receiver's menu for your secondary source at the same time, on one screen. This function is useful when you want to access your music content (i.e. AM/FM Tuner or USB) while navigating through Apple CarPlay or Android Auto without having to toggle back and forth.
  • Customize Home Screen: You can customize the Home screen and change its layout by selecting and rearranging your favorite sources, applications, and widgets. Widgets enable you to see your favorite sources and application information on the Home screen and access shortcuts to them.
  • Wallpaper (Background): The color of the on-screen display can be set to red, amber, green, blue or white. The background display can be selected from a variety of different preset displays for the AV Operation screen and several different preset displays for the Home Menu screen. In addition, you can change the background display of Home screen to other images imported from an external USB device.
  • Picture Adjustment: You can adjust the picture for each source and rearview camera. You can adjust the display's brightness (black level), contrast, color (color saturation), hue (color tone), dimmer (brightness), and temperature (white balance).
  • Brightness Modes: These Brightness modes will make the receiver screen much easier to see when sunlight is being reflected in the car. The receiver will automatically switch between light/dark mode at a set time, or when your vehicles headlights turn on/off. This can also be controlled manually.
  • Clock & Weather Display: The touchscreen monitor will display day, month, year, and the time. It can also display the current weather temperature if the unit is connected to the internet via WiFi to your Apple iOS device or Android smartphone.

Notes:

  • This unit has a parking brake interlock system that prohibits viewing of video programming and operating certain controls when the vehicle is in motion. In order to watch video on the in-dash monitor, the vehicle must be stopped with the parking brake engaged. The head unit's light green wire must be connected to your vehicle's parking brake detection circuit. The head unit's touchscreen will display a "Caution" message, if you try to watch a video when your vehicle is in motion.
  • The parking brake wire must also be connected and the parking brake engaged for certain setup functions and menu options.
  • CarPlay and Android Auto do not require that the parking brake be engaged.

Front-Panel Controls w/ Custom Illumination: In addition to the touchscreen controls, the unit includes frequently used capacitive touch buttons along the left edge of the screen. The color of the button illumination can be set to red, amber, green, blue, white, or scan (constantly cycling through the color spectrum). You can also create a custom color to match your vehicle's interior lighting (112 colors to choose from).

Voice, App, & Remote Control

Voice Control with Alexa Built-In: The DMH-WT3800NEX digital multimedia receiver offers Amazon Alexa Built-in through a wireless WiFi connection to your smartphone, your smartphone's active data cellular plan, and the Amazon Alexa app (for Apple iOS and Android OS). Ask Alexa to control the Pioneer receiver, play music, hear the news, check the weather, control smart home devices, and more. In addition to audible feedback, you'll also receive visual feedback for music apps and weather forecasts. Using Alexa with the Pioneer DMH-WT3800NEX is simple and hands-free; just say the "Alexa" wake-word or press the "Mic" button to ask your question and Alexa will respond instantly. Alexa lives in the cloud, so it's always getting smarter, adding new capabilities that are delivered to compatible devices automatically.

You can also listen to audiobooks from Audible. You'll hear music over your vehicle speakers, while artist/song/album text and album art are displayed on the Pioneer receiver's touchscreen monitor. The Pioneer receiver may not support all of Amazon Alexa compatible music services.
    • Phone Calls: Alexa allows you to use voice commands to place or answer calls using a mobile device paired to this unit. Ask Alexa to call a contact or place of business. Access to your phone and contacts must be enabled within the Alexa app. The receiver will display phone number and contact name during phone call. Your Apple iPhone or Android smartphone will also need to be connected via Bluetooth to the Pioneer receiver.
    • Traffic & Parking: You'll be able to ask Alexa for traffic information, as well as available parking and receive audible feedback (no visual display).
    • Weather, News, & Sports: Check weather reports, news updates, and sport scores using Amazon Alexa and your voice. The unit will provide audible feedback for weather, news, and sports; plus a visual display of a 7-day weather forecast.

You can bookmark websites that you want to enjoy in your car, register your favorite sports teams to receive real-time game updates, make notifications settings for your smartphone, and more. The app also allows you to customize your receiver's home screen, including adding your own background image, and easily performing OTA Firmware Updates

  • Customize the receiver's home menu screen - including widgets and wallpaper (background)
  • Register your favorite webpage URLs (including YouTube, Facebook, and more) in the app to see those webpages (including video) on the receiver's web touchscreen monitor. The web browser cannot be used while the vehicle is in motion. Your vehicle must be stopped with the parking brake engaged (requires the light green wire of the receiver's wiring harness to be connected to your vehicle's parking brake detection circuit). The head unit's touchscreen will display a "Caution" message, if you try to use the web browser when your vehicle is in motion. Pioneer does not guarantee compatibility with all URLs.
  • Register your favorite sports teams to receive information and score about them through the Pioneer receiver. To use the sports notification function, make sure that the included GPS antenna is installed properly.

Apple CarPlay, Android Auto, & WebLink

Built-In WiFi: The Pioneer DMH-WT3800NEX features dual-band 2.4GHz/5GHz WiFi (802.11n/ac) wireless connectivity specifically designed to support a cable free connection between your Apple iPhone or Android smartphone and the receiver. By supporting Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, plus Alexa Built-In and the CarAVAssist app via a wireless connection, you no longer need to worry about taking your smartphone out of your bag or your pocket before you get into your car.

  • GPS Antenna: Before using CarPlay or Android Auto, make sure the included GPS antenna and vehicle speed sensing (VSS) wire are properly connected. The GPS antenna is required for Android Auto and Apple CarPlay navigation maps (including Google Maps, Apple Maps, and Waze); as well as the sports team notification feature of the CarAVAssist app and certain Alexa voice commands. The GPS antenna comes with a self-stick pad which mounts it on top of your dash inside the vehicle.
  • Data Plan Required: Your iPhone or Android smartphone will need an active Data Plan account with connection to the Internet via 3G, EDGE, or LTE (4G) for CarPlay and Android Auto to function. Access to CarPlay, Android Auto, Alexa, and CarAVAssist online app services will depend on the availability of a cellular network for purposes of allowing your iPhone or Android smartphone to connect to the Internet. App services may not be available in all regions.

Wireless Apple CarPlay: The Pioneer DMH-WT3800NEX features Apple CarPlay, the smarter and safer way to use your iPhone 6S or newer in the car. The Pioneer DMH-WT3800NEX supports Apple CarPlay through a wireless connection using WiFi and Bluetooth (both connections must be made); or a hardwired USB connection using its rear-panel USB-A port, the supplied USB extension cable, and an Apple Certified cable (not included). Apple CarPlay gives iPhone users an incredibly intuitive way to make calls, use Maps, listen to music, access messages, and even control Apple HomeKit compatible devices through Siri voice recognition and the Pioneer receiver's touchscreen monitor.

You can enter a new destination or choose a favorite or recent destination using the head unit's touchscreen or by simply asking Siri. CarPlay can also predict where you most likely want to go using addresses from your email, text messages, contacts, and calendars. You can even listen to music from your Apple CarPlay device or other connected source device while using Apple Maps. If you have iOS 12.0 or newer on your iPhone with the latest version of Google Maps or Waze, you can choose to navigate via Google Maps or Waze instead of CarPlay. Google Maps and Waze do not support Siri voice control, but will have their own proprietary voice control function which has to be accessed through a touchscreen icon on the receiver.
  • Phone & Messages: Via Apple CarPlay, you'll be able to make calls, return missed calls, and listen to voicemails through the Pioneer head receiver. Siri can also help you do all these things. In addition, Siri can send, read, and reply to your text messages for you; so you never have to look at your iPhone while driving.
  • Music Library: Through Apple CarPlay, you can access your favorite artists, songs, and playlists from Apple Music on your iPhone using the Pioneer head unit's touchscreen. Or, just tell Siri what you'd like to listen to. The head unit's touchscreen will display song/artist information, as well as album art in the background.
  • Apps: CarPlay also supports additional audio apps that you've downloaded to your iPhone for enjoying music, radio, sports, news, podcasts, & audiobooks (subscriptions and fees may apply). Control these apps from the head unit's touchscreen just like you would from your iPhone. Current supported apps include:
  • Apple HomeKit Compatible: CarPlay now supports control of Apple HomeKit enabled devices (sold separately) through Siri. Using CarPlay in your vehicle, you can ask Siri to close or open your garage door, turn on or off home lighting, increase or decrease the temperature of your thermostat, as well as control select functions of other Apple HomeKit enabled devices and appliances. Click here for a list of compatible Apple HomeKit products.

Notes:

  • Before using Wireless CarPlay, you will need to pair your iPhone to the receiver via Bluetooth and connect the phone to the receiver via a USB cable to make a WiFi connection between the receiver and your iPhone - follow the receiver's on-screen prompts. The WiFi password is listed under "Wireless Settings" in the WiFi menu.
  • If you are using a hardwired connection, use the included USB extension cable and an "Apple Certified" cable (not included) for connection. Any other USB extension cable or non-certified cable can cause CarPlay to malfunction.
  • Bluetooth hands-free phone and wireless music streaming cannot be used while Apple CarPlay is being used with a connected iPhone.

Wireless Android Auto: The Pioneer receiver supports the Android Auto app for select Android smartphones using a wired or wireless connection. A Google or Samsung smartphone with Android OS 10.0+ or any smartphone with Android OS 11.0+ and 5GHz WiFi can utilize Android Auto Wireless with the Pioneer receiver using the latest version of the Android Auto app, plus a WiFi and Bluetooth connection (both wireless connections must be made; a wired USB connection must be made initially between the Android phone and the Pioneer receiver to setup Wireless Android Auto). Android smartphones running Oreo 8.0 or newer can also be connected to the Pioneer receiver's USB-A port using the included USB extension cable and USB cable that came with your smartphone, plus be paired via Bluetooth. Android Auto extends the Android platform into your car in a way that's purpose-built for driving and automatically brings you useful information and organizes it into one simple on-screen interface. It's designed to minimize distraction so you can stay focused on the road ahead. Features of Android Auto include -

  • Google Assistant: The Pioneer receiver enhances your Android Auto experience even more by incorporating Google Assistant using the head unit's external microphone and your car speakers for voice command and text-to-speech, which makes using Android Auto and all of its integrated applications fast, easy, and safe. Use the Google Assistant to make a call, send a message, reply to a message, get driving directions, listen to music, or even control select Google Assistant smarthome enabled devices.
  • Google & Waze Maps: Use Google Maps to get where you're going with on-screen maps, voice-guided navigation, live traffic information, lane guidance, and more. Select your destination by using the head unit's touchscreen or just say where you want to go through the unit's external mic and Google Speech Technology. You can even listen to music from your Android Auto device or other connected source device while using Google Maps. If you prefer, you can switch over to a simpler version of the community-based Waze navigation app (version 4.27 or higher).
  • Phone & SMS: With Android Auto you get access to your contacts and messages through the Pioneer receiver while keeping your eyes on the road. • Bluetooth hands-free phone and wireless music streaming cannot be used while Android Auto is being used with a connected Android smartphone

The maximum output provided when a 2-ohm load is connected to one set of leads is 70 watts.

Beep Tone: The in-dash head unit provides an audible beep to confirm button operation. You can turn this feature on or off.

Q
Do you need to hook the pink wire up on this unit to make this unit work properly or can I leave that wire unhooked and just not have my GPS recognize the speed?
kurt  Feb 02, 2024
1 answer
A
That is a good question, Kurt. The Pioneer DMH-WT3800NEX receiver uses a Sensor Suite to track the motion of the vehicle. The Sensor Suite includes a GPS receiver along with a built-in gyro sensor for right and left turn data, and speed data provided by the vehicle. Pioneer strongly recommends connecting the Pink VSS wire for the best operation.

Q
S 550 MERCEDES BENZ 2015 COMPATIBLE?
charles  Jan 11, 2024
1 answer
A
Greetings Charles. Thank you for your question. Unfortunately for the 2015 S Class there is no installation gear to install an aftermarket stereo easily. That vehicle would take a full custom type of an install. Might want to check with a local stereo installation shop and see if they can do anything.

Q
What do i need to make this compatible with a 2019 Ram 1500 Classic with a VP2, 5 inch radio in it currently?
vince  Jan 05, 2024
1 answer
A
Please enter your 2019 Ram Classic into our online Vehicle Guide in the link below to list all compatible radios, Vincent. Once you choose your radio, we will pair the correct install gear. According to our info this radio is not a fit in your vehicle. Car stereos with large external "floating" displays are not recommended for your vehicle as they will interfere with the dash kit. I would consider the Pioneer DMH-W4660NEX in the second link below that we show is a fit with some modification in your Ram. If you need any help selecting a radio that does fit and pairing your install gear to place your order, do not hesitate to call us at 1-800-324-9695 and a live Advisor would be happy to help. https://www.crutchfield.com/m_266150/Car-Stereos.html https://www.crutchfield.com/p_130DMW4660/Pioneer-DMH-W4660NEX.html

Q
Hi, I want to install this unit in my Mini Cooper r53 with Harman Kardon package. I want this one since you only need a single din space. The problem is that crutchfield says that is not compatible but other websites shows as compatible. Can anyone please shed some light? Thank you
alex d  Jan 04, 2024

A
I would be happy to help, Alejandro. We have folks in our Vehicle Research team that go much further into compatibility than any other company. We aim to make sure you will have an easy install if you are tackling the job yourself, that is one of our main goals! We also need to know more details about your specific model Mini Cooper. R53's usually mean the top-of-the-line hatchback model for those years (2005-08) and the Pioneer DMH-WT3800NEX radio is a physical fit in those hatchbacks with the Metra 99-9309 dash kit in the first link below. We show for the convertible option with Harmon Kardon Audio for those model years the Pioneer radio is not a fit because it is too deep and there is no dash kit available that fits. If you need any help confirming which radio or install package is the right one for you, do not hesitate to give us a call at 1-800-324-9695 and a live Advisor can assist! https://www.crutchfield.com/p_120999309/Metra-99-9309-Dash-Kit-Black.html

Looking to install in a 2015 ram 1500. It currently has at 8.4 inch uconnect. Is there a dash kit to allow this single din chassis to be mounted in this vehicle?
ashton  Dec 19, 2023
1 answer
A
With any radio swap into your 2015 Ram 1500 with 8.4 screen you will use the PAC RPK4-CH4101 in the link below, Ashton. The PAC kit works with both single-DIN and double-DIN radios. You'll have to unbolt or cut out the factory radio's rear support bracket to make room for your new car stereo. https://www.crutchfield.com/p_541RPKCH41/PAC-RPK4-CH4101-Factory-Integration-Adapter-Black.html

Is it waterproof? I was thinking about installing on my Harley.
john  Dec 17, 2023
1 answer
A
This Pioneer DMH-WT3800NEX is not waterproof and has no IP rating for any moisture protection whatsoever, John. I would not advise installing on your Harley unless it was strictly a show bike or fair-weather cruiser that would have no chance of moisture exposure. Depending on your exact model Harley-Davidson, you may be able to consider either the Precision Power HDHU.14Si or HDHU.981SG in the links below which are water resistant for all-weather motorcycle use. Make sure to use our online Vehicle Guide to confirm fitment, we are always here to help! https://www.crutchfield.com/p_530HDHU14S/Precision-Power-HDHU-14Si.html https://www.crutchfield.com/p_530HDHU983/Precision-Power-HDHU-9813SG.html

I have a Chevy Silverado. If I add the SXM tuner to the Pioneer radio can it be connected to my existing antenna? I have SXM on my current radio.
kirk  Dec 12, 2023

A
We need to know the exact year, make, model, and specific trim on your Silverado to confirm any details, Kirk. In many years and models of Silverado you can use the iDatalink SAT2 in the link below when adding a SiruisXM SXV300 tuner to your "XM Ready" Pioneer radio to use your existing satellite antenna with the new tuner. Use our Vehicle Guide in the second link below to enter your truck's exact details and see if the SAT2 is a good fit! https://www.crutchfield.com/p_794ANTSAT2/iDatalink-SAT2.html https://www.crutchfield.com/m_266150/Car-Stereos.html

Q
What is the difference on the PAC - Radio Replacement and Steering Wheel Control Interface with OnStar Retention for Select GM Vehicles - Blue VS iDatalink ADS-MRR - Steering Wheel Control, Radio Replacement Module ADS-MRR or ADS-MRR2 module also required - iDatalink HRN= HRR-GM3 - Wiring Harness ?
friasfamily2  Dec 05, 2023
1 answer
A
IDatalink Maestro installation interfaces require flashing with firmware before install, and in some vehicles, they can retain more original features. With iDatalink Maestro-ready radios like the Pioneer DMH-WT3800NEX you can even gain bonus features in some vehicles like engine performance and other vehicle data on touchscreen. The Maestro requires a connected computer to flash, while the Maestro MRR2 can be flashed via Bluetooth connected smartphone. If you have a newer vehicle with a vehicle settings menu, Maestro can usually retain it. If you need help selecting the right install interface for you or getting your order placed, please reach out at 1-800-324-9695 and a live Advisor would be happy to help!

Q
Does this thing have an on/off button? I installed an alpine unit on a vehicle a year ago and didn't think much about the fact that it didn't have an on/off button until the unit locked up and would not output sound or it go stuck on a screen... I had to stop, turn the car off and back on to get the thing to reset. Just ridiculous that you would have to do this.
manuel  Nov 24, 2023
1 answer
A
This radio has a "Power Off" mode, but this will not complete turn off the unit as would be the case if the vehicle ignition was switched off. Unfortunately, there is no means of entirely turning the unit off without turning off the vehicle.

Q
what is the pink wire car speed signal input used for?
gary  Oct 31, 2023
1 answer
A
That is the Vehicle Speed Sense wire, Gary. Not all vehicles have one but if you do in your install, connecting it will tell the radio how fast you are moving. This aids the radio in having accurate GPS information when using Carplay or Android Auto navigation.

Q
Can you bring up the back camera video while driving or only in reverse?
dean15122  Oct 26, 2023
1 answer
A
It is possible to view the backup camera while not in reverse. The camera feed may be switched to manually at any time via the radio display. Keep in mind that the camera must be powered on in order for it to be viewed. This means that if you are using an aftermarket camera, for example, then you must connect power for the camera somewhere else besides power for the reverse lights on the vehicle.

Q
DO YOU NEED TO USE THE SUPPLIED MICROPHONE WITH THE RADIO IF YOUR VEHICLE IS EQUID WITH ONE FROM FACTORY?
justin  Oct 20, 2023
1 answer
A
Greetings Justin. Thank you for your question. Short answer, yes you will. In most cases you will not be able to use the factory microphone because there are no made adapters to do so. In the cases where a vehicle can use the factory Bluetooth module when replacing the stereo its because there is a separate Bluetooth module in the vehicle. In that case you can still use the factory mic, but your phone would have to be paired to that factory module, and not Bluetooth paired to the new stereo. So most dont bother. Thats your long answer.

Greetings Mateusz, and thank you for your question. This model Pioneer DMH WT3800NEX is not a recommended stereo for the Promaster. This stereo will not attach correctly to the dash kit we have to offer for your Promaster. If you are up for some type of custom install, or found another dash kit eleswhere and wish to install this model, the parts you will need are below. www.crutchfield.com/p_794ADSMRR2/item.html www.crutchfield.com/p_794HRRCH3C/item.html www.crutchfield.com/p_12040EU10/item.html www.crutchfield.com/p_794HUKEN1/item.html www.crutchfield.com/p_120863528/item.html You need a dash mount kit as well, but again the kit we have will not work on this Pioneer.

We show that this Pioneer DMH-WT3800NEX does not fit in your 2015 Chevy Malibu, Lanelle. If you have the color display original radio and with or without Pioneer premium audio the DMH-WC5700NEX fits and can keep the Onstar and factory backup camera with the installation interface. In purchasing this unit for a 2018 RAV4, could the factory USB in the center console be reused and connected to the Pioneer unit and can the button that was to activate the voice command be used on the deck too? Would there be anything additional that would need to be purchased with the unit?

I already have a single DIN Pioneer deck installed in my 2002 Yukon with an adapter. Will this chassis fit in that single DIN adapter?
robert  Jun 08, 2023
1 answer
A
Technically the chassis of this radio will fit. Keep in mind that your kit will need to use mounting screws on either side of the radio in order to properly support it. This radio cannot be installed with a DIN sleeve as it will not be properly supported. For this reason, we do not recommend this radio for your vehicle. Nevertheless, it may be possible to custom-mount the radio, but we do not have instructions or products to help with a custom installation.

There is a Bluetooth echo on the end user when making phone calls. Is this a known issue with his unit?
brandon  Apr 18, 2023

A
Greetings Brandon, thanks for your question, and reporting the issue. The Pioneer model you bought is such a new release (2 weeks), we have had no reports until now about a Bluetooth related issue. Of course its still new. If you are still having the issue, call into our tech support line for them to do a bit of troubleshooting. I would hat to have you install another stereo after you just finished this install, but if it needs to be replaced because of any issue, we cover the first 60 days of the warranty, so we would send out a new one (tech support).

Can you have a front & rear camera setup or just a rear camera?
mike v  Apr 15, 2023
1 answer
A
Greetings Mike, and thank you for your question. The Pioneer DMH WT3800NEX has a second camera input that can be used as a front camera. Only the rear camera is auto switching for most vehicles. If you have a vehicle that is supported by Idatalink, and you were to use their Maestro MRR2, you can have an auto switching front camera as well. Not all vehicles can use the Itadalink Maestro. You can call and speak to one of our advisors to check your vehicle at 800-324-9695.
