Sony's Mobile ES Series XM-1ES Elevated Standard mono subwoofer amplifier will boost the level of your bass while retaining its pristine, crisp, and low-frequency sound and impact. Capable of dishing out large amounts of power, this amp will help make it sound like you're right there with the drummer and bass player in the studio or on stage. With up to 1,000 watts RMS output, there'll be plenty of volume available for playing your sub the way you want.
Signal handling
The amplifier features adjustable low-pass and subsonic filters, so you can fine-tune the sound to fit almost any size and style of subwoofer. A remote control knob is included so you can dial in just the right amount of bass. Preamp outputs let you easily add another stereo or mono amp to your system.

CTA-2006 Compliant: CTA-2006 is a system of testing and measurement for mobile audio amplifiers. This voluntary standard advocates a uniform method for measuring an amplifier's RMS power output and signal-to-noise ratio. The criteria for measuring amplifier power uses a DC input voltage of 14.4 volts and the RMS power output is measured over a frequency range of 20 Hz to 20 kHz (for full range amplifiers), with 1% or less Total Harmonic Distortion plus noise (THD+N). Signal-to-Noise ratio is measured in weighted absolute decibels (dBA) at a reference of 1 watt into 4-ohms. CTA-2006 standards allow consumers to compare car amplifiers and receivers under the same conditions (apples to apples).

Amp Overview: The Sony XM-1ES is a Class D mono subwoofer amplifier. Its Class D design and aluminum chassis offer efficient dissipation of heat for reliable performance.
Speaker-Level Inputs: The RCA inputs will accept either speaker-level or line-level signals from your car's head unit. A speaker-level signal is connected to the RCA inputs using a speaker wire to RCA adapter (sold separately).
Auto Turn-on: When using a speaker-level input, the amp will turn on automatically when it senses the input signal from most head units.

Controls

Crossover: The amp features a 24dB per octave low-pass crossover. The crossover point is continuously variable from 50 to 500 Hz.
Subsonic Filter: There is also a 24dB per octave subsonic filter to remove frequencies your sub can't reproduce. The cutoff frequency is continuously variable from 5 to 50 Hz, and the subsonic filter can be turned off if you prefer.
Remote Control: The included wired remote control lets you control the output level from the driver's seat. The small control module can be mounted on the console or dash with the supplied bracket and screws. The remote measures approximately 1-1/8" in diameter and 1-3/8" tall.
Connections
Power Input: Set-screw terminals are provided for connecting the power and ground cables. The terminals accept up to 4-gauge wire (4-gauge minimum recommended). The set screws are tightened/loosened with the included 2.5mm Allen wrench.
Remote Turn-on: The remote turn-on set screw terminal will accept up to 8-gauge wire. The set screw is tightened/loosened with the included 2.5mm Allen wrench.
Speaker Outputs: There are two pair of speaker outputs internally shorted together, making it easy to connect two subwoofers wired in parallel. These set screw terminals accept up to 8-gauge wire and are tightened/loosened with the included 2.5mm Allen wrench.
Signal Input: The amplifier has one pair of stereo RCA inputs. If no line-level signal is available, you will need speaker wire to RCA adapters (sold separately) to connect the amplifier to the source unit via speaker wires.
Line Outputs: There is one pair of RCA preamp outputs, useful for adding another amp without running another set of cables. The preamp outputs are not affected by the crossovers or input sensitivity setting on this amp.
Fuses: The amp has four 25-amp ATO fuses.
Remote: The included wired remote plugs into the RJ-14 jack.
