Features

Overview: Using one of the three pair of brackets Kicker includes, the KSC270 speakers are designed as a drop-in upgrade for many Chrysler, GM, Jeep, Subaru and Toyota vehicles. Please enter your vehicle information to confirm fit.

Crossover: The included 150 microfarad capacitors are 1st order high pass crossovers (6 dB/octave); the crossover point is approximately 265 Hz. One capacitor is wired in-line with the positive input of each speaker. For best results, solder speaker wire terminated with quick slides (item number 120FQS10PK, sold separately) to both ends of the capacitor, then insulate the assembly.

Q
Hi. How would I wire these if I have a 2005 4Runner with the jbl sound system?
juan  Nov 30, 2023
1 answer
A
Greetings Jaun. Thank you for your question. The Toyota tweeters in a lot of cases are wired to the amp first, then share the same signal to each front door speaker. Its a bit more complicated than a normal install. For wiring help, please contact technical support. If you purchased these from Crutchfield, you will have a direct number to our support team on your shipping confirmation email.

Q
Do I need to wire in a High-pass filter/Bass blocker if I use my factory plug? I have a 2020 4runner limited with the JBL premium sound. The door speakers are wired in parallel to the tweeters I believe.
dillon  Sep 04, 2023

Greetings Dillon, and thank you for your question. These kicker 47KSC2704's come with 150Hz capacitors. You will not need additional bass blockers, and great question.
hogan  Sep 05, 2023 (Staff)
Q
I have a pair of these speakers for my Silverado, ready to install soon! How are the bass blockers installed?
garrett  Mar 29, 2023
1 answer
A
The 300 Hz Crutchfield Bass Blockers in the handy link below would be a fantastic choice here, Garrett. These install in between your truck's wiring and the new Kicker speakers, and they are matched perfectly to the frequency response of the Kicker's at 300 Hz and above! https://www.crutchfield.com/p_007BB300/Crutchfield-Bass-Blockers-300-Hz-cut-off.html
bo  Mar 29, 2023 (Staff)
Q
Will these require an additional tweeter since they are listed as a mid-range?
tristan  Feb 19, 2023
1 answer
A
That is a good question and it depends on how these would be used. A bass blocker could be put on these midranges so they would be used as a more traditional tweeter. If you are creating a 3 part component set up then you would probably want to leave these as these a midrange and get a separate tweeter.

Q
Is going to fit my GMC JIMMY 4x4 1991 full size. 2 doors?
alex  Oct 28, 2022
1 answer
A
Those Kicker speakers would not be a direct fit in a 1991 GMC Jimmy 4x4 full size. They would require a lot of modifying to install.
arielle  Oct 29, 2022 (Staff)
Q
Will it fit the dash corners tweeter and roll bar tweeter spaces on a 2015 jeep wrangler 2door?
bigart  Oct 19, 2022
1 answer
A
Unfortunately, we would not recommend these to fit the dash and roll bar tweeter locations in your Wrangler. Although the screw holes for the included bracket line up with the factory screw holes, space is very limited in these locations, and these speakers are a bit too large. For help with selecting another option, please reach out to our advisors via chat or phone at 1-800-324-9695.

Q
Do these tweeters need a bass blocker when installing them in my 2022 Toyota Tacoma?
bret  Aug 02, 2022

A
Kicker has you covered right out of the box here, Bret! These sweet Kicker 47KSC2704 KS Series 2-3/4" speakers come with a pair of 150 microfarad capacitors included. These are 1st order high pass crossovers (6 dB/octave) and the crossover point is approximately 265 Hz.

Q
I am going to install a Kicker 47KSC2704, 2-3/4" speaker in the front center dash position on my 2009 Acura RDX. The OEM is starting to rattle and rumble, so I am just replacing it. Do I need to install inline a capacitor on the positive side of the speaker? I am running the factory amp/radio etc. Thank you.
bruno  May 27, 2021

A
These speakers come with the needed capacitor but you won't need it with your factory amp. I have them hooked up without and these little puppies handle great!!
antonios  May 27, 2021
A
Installed these speakers in my 2015 Toyota Tacoma and did not use a capacitor and they sound great.
mark  May 27, 2021
A
look on the back of the stock speaker for a similarly shaped capacitor. If it has one then you will need to use the new one provided.
joseph  May 27, 2021
A
Yes it goes on the positive lead
jesus  May 27, 2021
Q
Can I run these with a 100 wat 2 channel amp if I turn my gain down ?
jeff  Feb 11, 2021

A
Wouldn't be a problem also recommend adjusting the high pass filter to filter out the bass.
jesus  Feb 12, 2021
A
Maybe if you ran them with the included caps. I believe the 400hz -6db caps. Im using mine as mids on 50 watt rms kicker KXA800.5 Amplifier active no caps but using my audison dsp 300-4500 hz. I hope it helps you on your decision i bought them for mids only, im running a 3 way set up.

Q
Why does the fit guide say these do not fit the dash corner locations on a 1999 Neon? Seems to me they would drop right in, unless they don't come with a mtg bracket. Anyone clarify?
steven  Oct 15, 2020
2 answers
A
These speakers do come with 3 different mounting brackets. Just not sure if one of those 3 will fit your Neon.
antonios  Oct 17, 2020
A
Can't weigh In on Neon fitment. Bought these for the rear pillars of a 2001 Tahoe. They came with several sets of mounting brackets. I had to modify one set to mount the speakers, just a little grinding. They fit nicely and sound great..

Q
Are these plug and play for an 09 Tacoma?
andrew  Aug 03, 2020
4 answers
A
Not sure if ur order would include the plug play adapters I didn't get no adapters connected to an amp
jesus  Aug 04, 2020
A
Had to do a little soldering to change the pigtail harness but pretty simple.
mark  Aug 03, 2020
A
Can't remember off the top of my head but I believe it comes with an adapter for each tweeter just have to splice into the existing speaker wires and connect the adapter that you spliced in, to the tweeter itself. I ended up taking the old speaker harness completely off lol if you call Crutchfield once you get them there actually really helpful with install
seth  Aug 03, 2020
A
No it is not plug and play.

Q
How do I wire in the capacitor for the KSC270 2.75" speakers? Is it wired in-line with the Positive side or is it the Negative side? Also does it matter which direction the capacitor is facing when wired in?
matt  Jul 16, 2020
5 answers
A
On the positive side, the direction doesn't matter.
jose  Jul 17, 2020
A
Not sure about the direction, but I do know that the capacitor goes in line on the positive wire before the speaker. Hope that helps. I haven't installed mine yet. But I did call tech support and that's what they said.
joseph  Jul 17, 2020
A
It gets wired inline with the positive lead typically but electrically speaking it does matter whether it's on the positive or negative. The directed the capacitor is facing does not matter.
richard  Jul 16, 2020
A
iwired mine in line with a positive wire. I don't think it matters which direction the capacitor is. But mine work fine and sound great
jason  Jul 16, 2020
A
Connect it on the positive side and it does not matter which end. I suggesed you solder it followed by Heat shrink.
antonios  Jul 16, 2020
Q
Do i need to install the capacitor that came with my speakers if I have a factory system?
michael c.  Jun 12, 2020
2 answers
A
The dashboard speakers on my 2007 FJ Cruiser had small capacitors attached to them so I used the capacitors that came with the Kicker speakers. I connected them on the positive side of the speakers using twist-on connectors. So I had three twist-on connected for each speaker: one for negative, one between speaker and capacitor, and one between capacitor and wiring harness. I used the factory wiring harness so I could use the connector. I put electrical tape around all the twist-on connectors so that nothing would shift.
charley  May 31, 2021
A
Depends on the factory system. If it had a factory amp there is potentially crossovers in the factory amp channels, also check the factory mid-range you're replacing to see if it has a capacitor on it, if it does you'll definitely need to use the one supplied.
