Features

Woofer Cones: The Kicker KS Series speakers feature durable polypropylene woofer cones, resistant to moisture and the temperature extremes found in automotive applications.

Dome Tweeters: The ¾" silk dome tweeters provide a smooth high frequency response with a wide dispersion pattern. The tweeters have neodymium magnets.

Mounting: The speaker are designed to fit a standard 6¾" applications. Adapter brackets are also included that are compatible with other factory speaker applications. (Because these same brackets are used with Kicker's KSC650, which is a smaller speaker, there are six tabs around the inner perimeter that need to be snapped off before the KSC670s are mounted.) Q
If Iâ??m putting this in the soundbar connected to my roll bar of my jeep wrangler do I need to buy the installation kit? Or will they fit in the hole that is already there?
jcar12  Jan 17, 2023
1 answer
A
The installation gear we suggested is usually to make putting in new speakers easier so the speakers may fit in the existing hole but the bolt pattern may not line up correctly or there may be other modifications. The installation kit will often times come with a speaker adapter so you don't have to splice wires into your stock system. If you have specific questions about your specific set up you are more than welcome to give us a call at 800.324.9695 and our friendly advisors can dive a little deeper into it for you!

Q
I just bought these for the rear doors on a 2002 avalanche which is 6.75 mu factory front speakers are 6.5 will they fit without a adapter or drilling new holes?
toby l  Jan 07, 2021

A
You will probably need a GM mounting adaptor or may be able to install them by drilling holes and using screws. I would recommend buying an adaptor plate.

Q
I just installed these in the back doors of my 2019 tacoma non JBL, and they sound very muffled, absolutely no bass what so ever. What am I missing? I'm sure they'd sound great run through an amp but the speakers I put in the front are a higher wattage and sound amazing (kicker CS 6X9) *PLEASE HELP ME*

I am very happy with the way mine sound. I did run them thru a small clarion XC2410 50 watt amp. But I think the biggest reason I'm so pleased is because I lined the doors with sound deadening material. I lined the outside door skin with Noico 80 mil sound deadening mat. Then over that I put a layer of Noico Red 150 mil heat and sound insulation. I repeated the process on the inner door skin. I'm no "sound person" I know very little about head units, amps and speakers. But my system sounds great. Front and Back I'm so impressed with the sound deadening mat and the insulation that I plan on pulling the headliner and carpet out and doing the roof and floor

Kicker csb series is the cheap model so not going to have much bass you should go with the kicker ks series or better or maybe something better alpine has great 6x9 with decent bass or you can just install subwoofers instead.

Did you hook up the little adaptor that utilizes all three plugs on the speaker? I had the same issue and they helped significantly.

Q
I have finished my install, but what are the two little square foam pads and two 1/4 inch rubber butyl for?

Just did 2014 FORD Fusion. When you remove the old speakers, use a sharp scraper to remove the silver foam backing/surround from the old speakers, being sure to keep it in one piece. Glue it to the new adapter/mounting bracket using super glue. Note, for 6 3/4 speakers, you'll have to remove the 5 inner tabs on the Metra adapter bracket to get the speaker to mount flush. Take the square foam pad and cut it parallel to the short side, making 7 pieces. Peel and stick these to the speaker side of the adapter bracket before attaching speaker w/4 screws. Note: 3 of the 4 Metra adapter brackets were fine. The 4th needed larger screws to mount the speaker.

they are for taking up any slight play that that may happen if the included factory door replacement mount do not fit perfectly
andrew  Jul 01, 2020

I saw those in my package as well. I did not use them. I had a large roll of that same foam material that I put all around the speaker ring adapters where the contact the door and another layer of them on the other side of the adapter where the speaker affixes to the ring. I did this to prevent rattles from producing between either of those surfaces and to create an airtight seal against the surfaces. If you noticed when you take the factory speakers out they have foam seal on the backs of them usually for this very reason. I also bought the stinger roadkill foam rings to put around the fronts of the speakers to funnel the sound better into the cab of the truck. Also put dynamat around the speakers on the door panels to help reduce rattles.
