About the Morel Primo 804

Years of experience
Years of experience
Morel developed exciting new technologies when they built their award-winning Ultimo Titanium subwoofer. Now they've applied that knowledge and experience to building their Primo Series sub, a cost-effective bass driver that still offers Morel's signature qualities of high fidelity and high quality.
High efficiency
The Primo 804 12" subwoofer uses a treated laminated paper cone with a high-roll rubber surround to deliver superior bass. The cone is driven by a 2" voice coil of copper wire wound on an aluminum former. This sub handles up to 250 watts RMS (500 watts peak) and is equally at home in a sealed or ported enclosure. Designed for high efficiency, you can power the Primo 804 with a modest amplifier and still enjoy high-level output.

Features
Spring Posts: The wiring terminals are spring posts which accommodate pin connectors, single banana plugs (posts too wide for dual banana plugs), or bare speaker wire up to 10 gauge.
Sealed Box: Morel recommends sealed enclosure sizes from 0.42 ft³ to 0.8 ft³. Sealed enclosures provide the most control over a woofer, will handle a lot of power, and provide accurate sonic reproduction, making them suitable for all types of music.
Ported Box: Morel recommends ported enclosure sizes from 0.55 ft³ to 1.1 ft³, with an optimum volume of 0.71 ft³, using one 2" diameter x 7-1/2" long port. Ported (or vented) enclosures typically provide better overall efficiency than sealed, so they are suitable for use with smaller amplifiers, giving you more bass output from less power. However, this efficiency comes at the expense of very low frequency output.
