Wire in a new radio

Crux's SOOFD-27C interface ensures that you can keep the factory speaker system in your Ford, Lincoln, or Mercury vehicle when you replace the factory radio. Connect the wires from this interface to the wires on the new stereo's wiring harness, and your power, ground, and factory speaker connections are covered.

The SOOFD-27C interface also offers the reverse output that you'll need if you're installing a navigation receiver. If you like your radio to keep playing after your vehicle is turned off, this interface also supports Retained Accessory Power (RAP) which keeps the music going until the door is opened.

Important Installation Notes

The SOOFD-27C interface is not compatible with factory SONY systems or the THX amplified systems.

Customer Q&A

12 questions already asked

Q
Will this interface work with 2012 Ford F-250 and a Boss BV9358B stereo?
tandi  Sep 26, 2022
1 answer
A
That Crux interface is compatible with most variations of the 2012 F-250 but not all of them. If you'd like to verify if it will work for your particular version please give us a call at 800.324.9695 to speak with an advisor! As far as that particular Boss unit, looking at their manual, it uses a standard wiring code so it should work however we have never sold that unit so we cannot 100% guarantee.

Q
I have a 2011 f150xlt with amfm cd. No usb, but has aux plug. My aftermarket head unit does not have an aux output plug. Will this unit retain factory plug or do I have to purchase another one to plug into my new unit?
bill  Mar 18, 2021
1 answer
A
You will want to contact an Advisor by phone (1-800-324-9695) or online chat to discuss compatibility with your factory system. They will be able to pull up your vehicle and see if this will integrate. If it does not, then they will also be able to discuss other options with you.

No. This item was for without steering wheel controls.

Q
What does this actually do? I don't really like the fact that my stereo stays on until I open the door. If I don't install this what else do I loose?

I have this wiring harness and it's awesome. I have the 2011 F-150 and the only thing that I lost function wise was the steering wheel audio controls and the volume display above the unit in the center information area. Other than that great product.
rebecca  Jan 02, 2019
A
That feature is built in the car. This just allows you to hook up without having to cut up the factory harness. It does not allow the use of steering wheel controls
gregory lewis  Dec 29, 2018
Q
The 24 pin connector matches up with my vehicle perfectly, but what is the 16-pin connector supposed to connect to? And what does the little black box do? I don't see any wires in my vehicle that would plug into the 6-pin jack on the other side of this box, so should I omit it? The included instructions are no help.
