About the Alpine DVR-C320R

Alexander H.

Alpine's two-camera system with driver assistance

Alpine's DVR-C320R provides deluxe in-car video coverage with a two camera monitoring system, driver assistance features, and built-in Wi-Fi, all designed to operate with select Alpine touchscreen radios. The dash cam keeps an eye on the road ahead to give you an audible Forward Collision warning if you approach a car too rapidly, a Lane Departure warning if you veer from your lane, and a Stop & Go alert if you're stopped and traffic ahead starts moving. And the built-in G-Sensor detects hard braking or a collision, then saves vital video files for a complete record of the event.

Product Research

Features

Dual-Camera DVR System: The Alpine DVR-C320R is dual camera system that is compatible with select Alpine in-dash digital multimedia receivers. The DVR-C320R includes a dash-camera with built-in DVR functions and comes with an interior rear camera, so you can view and record what is going on in front of the vehicle, as well as inside or behind the vehicle.

  • Front Dash Camera w/ DVR: The front dash cam lets you view a live video feed from the front or rear camera on your connected compatible Alpine in-dash receiver, as well as record video from the front or rear camera on the dash cam's built-in DVR for playback later.
  • Rear Interior Camera: The DVR-C320 also includes a secondary camera for an additional recording device anywhere in the vehicle. Use the secondary camera to monitor activity inside the cabin or point it towards the rear of the vehicle on the back windshield for rear-video footage.

Note: The included rear camera is designed to mount inside the vehicle. It is not meant to be used as a backup camera that mounts on the outside of the vehicle.

Alpine Receiver Compatibility: By connecting the DVR-C320R to your compatible Alpine head unit, you'll get a view of the cameras' recordings on the screen of the Alpine radio, plus access to select controls and drive-assist features on the touchscreen of the Alpine receiver (the Alpine receiver must be connected to your vehicle's parking brake circuit and your vehicle's parking brake must be engaged). The DVR-C320R dual-camera system is compatible with the following Alpine in-dash digital multimedia receivers (as of 5/17/2023).

  • iLX507, iLX-F509, and iLX-F511
  • i509-WRA-JL and i509-WRA-JK
  • iLX-207
  • X308U
  • INE-W987HD

Notes:

The front dash cam and rear camera will capture 1080p (1920 x 1080) @ 30fps video images. The dash cam has 144 degree viewing angle, while the rear camera has a 160 degree viewing angle.

Q
Can this be used in a class a motorhome with a vertical windshield? If so can I make settings changes from the ILS 511 radio since the dash cam would be out of reach when installed?
tyrone  Sep 28, 2023
1 answer
A
That is a great question, Tyrone. This Alpine DVR-C320R HD dash cam is only compatible with select Alpine receivers, and it is compatible with the iLX-F511, great news! By connecting the DVR-C320R to your compatible Alpine head unit, you'll get a view of the cameras' recordings on the screen of the Alpine radio, plus access to select controls and drive-assist features on the touchscreen of the Alpine receiver (the Alpine receiver must be connected to your vehicle's parking brake circuit and your vehicle's parking brake must be engaged). This means some settings can be accessed on the radio, but your motorhome would need to be parked to do so. I hope this helps!

Q
Will it work with Alpine Halo11 iLX-F411?
keive  Mar 06, 2023
1 answer
A
Greetings Keive, and thank you for your question. The Alpine iLX F411 does not have the drive recorder input to connect this dash cam combo into, you would need the newer F511, or smaller F509.

Why is the recording from the rear camera flipped? I'm unable to easily read street signs and license plates from the rear camera recordings or live view. I hear this is a thinkware product. The thinkware rear camera recordings are normal.

Sorry did complete first thought. You can't run a music service like pandora and and the alpine camera app at the same time.
trent  Sep 12, 2021
A
Yes you can. The camera system is mostly app based, but a couple of things about it that I'm not really happy about. One is that you can't run the app and a music service like pandora. Second is that if you have the lane departure on. The system will beep at you every time you change lanes. And there is no way to hook up turn signals to the system. And a few others. They have some work to do on it before it's a really good system. If you just using it for the video purpose. Then it's a good system

Will this work with the Alpine X208U?

This Dashcam will not work with your receiver. You can have front view cameras connected to it. I recommend contacting an advisor by calling 1-800-324-9695 to get help in building your system.

Q
Does this dash cam work with the alpine ilx-207?
thomas  Mar 05, 2021
1 answer
A
It is not compatible with the ILX-207, in that you cannot control the features of the camera, on screen. You can however view the live video feed from the camera on your ILX-207 Which is pretty awesome in my Opinion. The ILX-207 is the best radio hands down for its features to value. Even though a new radio would support the camera, you lose many features leaving the 207. Just a heads up.
