About the Alpine R2-S69C

Your entry to high-res audio

Your entry to high-res audio
Enjoy all the details in your favourite high-resolution audio files with this set of Next-Generation R-Series component woofers, tweeters, and convenient in-line crossover systems. Using technology developed for their flagship F#1 Status Series, Alpine built these speakers to be fun for enthusiasts interested in high-resolution audio playback. Their ultra-wide frequency response ensures a detailed, authentic sound, and thanks to power-handling up to 100 watts RMS, you can play 'em loud!
Minimal distortion
Alpine optimizes their R2-S69C 6"x9" 2-way component speaker system for near-perfect sound from premium sources. The woofer's combination of a highly rigid aluminum frame and a lightweight glass-fibre reinforced woofer cone helps minimize distortion. The high-amplitude multi-roll surround maximizes impact while maintaining linearity, so you'll get punch with minimal distortion. And speaking of a little more punch, the woofer's ferrite magnet and large motor structure will pump up the mid-bass in your music.
Loud and fun
All the exquisite detail you need is handled by the 1" magnesium hard dome tweeters, which contribute to the "loud and fun" sound associated with Alpine's R-Series. Because tweeters can be challenging to install, Alpine provides in-line crossover systems, a threaded removable housing, and a swivel-mount design to make sure you have what you need to make them sound their best.

Features
HAMR Surround: The R-Series speakers incorporate Alpine's patented High-Amplitude Multi-Roll (HAMR) surround, a technology developed for Alpine subwoofers that maintains control and stability at higher volume levels. HAMR surrounds combine increased cone area and long linear cone excursion for deep, powerful bass response.
Tweeter Mounting Options: The tweeters come installed in a flush-mount housing. Once mounted, the tweeters pivot approximately 15° in any direction, to improve the stereo image. Angled surface-mount housings are also included, or you can install the tweeters behind factory grilles using the included stealth mount brackets. The stealth mount brackets can be top or bottom mounted; they have multiple tabs that can be removed when not needed. The installed tweeter dimensions are:
Flush Mount (swivel) | Angled Surface Mount | Factory Location (bottom mount) | Factory Location (top mount) | |
Mounting Depth | 0.65" | N/A | 0.653" | 0.6" |
Mounting Height | 0.378" | 1.325" | 0" | 0.075" |
Cutout Diameter | 2.0" | N/A | N/A | N/A |
Frame Diameter | 2.285" | 1.82" x 1.71" | 1.726" | 1.726" |
Crossovers: The included 12 dB/octave in-line high-pass crossovers are wired between the woofers and tweeters. Each woofer has two positive and two negative terminals, one for input from the amplifier, and one for output to the tweeter (via the in-line high-pass crossover). The 12" output wires attached to the crossovers are terminated with quick slides that connect to the terminals on the 30" wires attached to the tweeters. The quick slides on the attached 31" input wires connect to the extra terminals on the woofers. Because the tweeter crossovers are separate, the system can be bi-amped. Two-sided tape is included to mount the high-pass crossovers; their dimensions are:
- Width: 1½"
- Height: 1¼"
- Length: 2?" (3" including wire)
Tweeter Output Level: Each crossover has three tweeter output level options, allowing you to precisely tune the high frequencies to the car interior and tweeter placement. Using the supplied jumpers select -3 dB, 0 dB (flat), or +3 dB.

Bought these to replace my Alpine S series I had in the back from about 10 years ago. I love the R series. Much cleaner and louder sound. I will be replacing my 4 years old front R series with the new R series to complete the package.
