Features

Mounting: Although Alpine describes this speaker size as 6½, the required cutout is larger than a typical 6½, and without adapter brackets the woofers fit many standard 6¾ applications. Using the included adapter brackets, they can be mounted in a variety of 6½ and 6¾ applications. Please enter you vehicle information to confirm fit.

Driver Materials: The R-Series speakers use Carbon Fiber Reinforced Polymer (CFRP) woofer cones. This high-strength, lightweight material is formed with its fibers aligned in the same direction as the curve and shape of the cone, thereby reducing resonant peaks. This balance of light weight and rigidity improves the speakers' mid-bass performance and dynamic range. CFRP is also used for the tweeter diaphragm, enabling the system to perform into the 40 kHz range.

HAMR Surround: The R-Series speakers incorporate Alpine's patented High-Amplitude Multi-Roll (HAMR) surround, a technology developed for Alpine subwoofers that maintains control and stability at higher volume levels. HAMR surrounds combine increased cone area and long linear cone excursion for deep, powerful bass response.

Pivoting Tweeter: The tweeter pivots approximately 15° in any direction in its housing, so it can be angled to optimize imaging.

Q
These seem to be the same size as my Rockford fosgate 6.5 components I have in my rear door, but it says they wont fit any one know why?

A
I could be the depth of the speaker. You might want to call Crutchfield and speak to a technical expert.

Q
I would like to put these in my 2019 JLU. Do you have an adapter to make these basically plug and play?

We do not have anything to help install them into the roll bar. We do have replacement dash speaker pods that can hold the speakers. These pods come with a wiring harness so the new speaker can be plugged in (no cutting): www.crutchfield.com/p_120JP1014/item.html

I have the alpine pdr-v75 running my system, it works well. Ideally you want at least 100 watts continuous power to those speakers ,so a good alpine amp would be a R-a60f. Although ,you can use any brand of amp that will give you at least 100 watts continuously at 4 ohms.

I'm not an expert, but I would personally buy one of Alpines 4-Channel matching R amps... They can take up to 100 watts, so they are pretty robust speakers. You can't go wrong with Alpine! I've been a devout Alpine fan since my first system I put in my VW Rabbit back in 1990; the system cost twice the value of my car - it was worth every penny though! Hope this somewhat helps. Hey Devin, I'm powering the Alpine Type R SPR-50C components on the front doors, the Type R R-S65.2's on the rear ceiling of my old E39 BMW wagon, the wagon's rear doors had factory tweeters in them, so I also got the Type R SPR-10TW's which come with their own crossovers, all tied in to the real channel, all powered by the Infinity KAPPA 4 amp which is rated at a 100w per channel. Sounds great! If you're wondering about a subwoofer, I also got the Type R R-W10D4's powered by an Infinity KAPPA1000. So far, been very happy with this setup.

Q
I have SPR-60C component speakers up front. Will these be a good match for rear speakers or should I stick with SPR-60's for the rear?
