The P300-12T comes equipped with a 12" woofer that's a perfect match for the built-in 300-watt amplifier. The sealed enclosure provides optimum sound quality, and the rugged industrial vinyl coating protects it wherever you choose to install it. You can use the low-pass crossover, phase switch, and bass boost to adjust the sub to work best in your vehicle. High- and low-level inputs allow you to connect it to any system, while the included remote knob lets you adjust bass intensity from the driver's seat. Best of all, you can pop out the "quick disconnect" power and signal connectors to remove the enclosure for some extra room when you need it.

Features

Overview: The Rockford Fosgate Punch P300-12T is an all-in-one bass solution featuring a 12" woofer and a built-in 300 watt RMS amplifier in an enclosure made from 5/8" MDF. Its slim form is designed to easily fit behind seats in pickup trucks, while taking up as little usable space as possible.

Integrated Amplifier: The 12" woofer is powered by a built-in Class-D amplifier rated at 300 watts RMS/600 watts peak. The closed-loop designed ensures optimum performance of the woofer, amplifier, and enclosure system.

Quick Disconnect Power/Ground: The power, ground, and remote turn-on wires attach to a quick disconnect terminal block, so the subwoofer can be easily removed when you need more storage space. Each terminal is a set screw, with the power and ground accepting up to 4 gauge wire (minimum 8 gauge recommended) and the remote turn-on will accept up to 8 gauge wire.

Audio Inputs: The amplifier section will accept either a line level (RCA) or speaker level signal. The included 12" input harness has a Molex plug on one end and female stereo RCA jacks on the other. When using a speaker level input, the RCA jacks get cut off and spliced into the factory wires.

Input Switch: The Input Switch is set based on the incoming signal type:

Low-Level: Used when connecting and RCA level signal into the amp. Range is from 150mV to 6V.
High-Level: Used when connecting the subwoofer using a speaker-level input signal. Range is from 400mV to 12V.

Auto Turn-On: The Auto Turn-On switch offers three options:

REM: the amp turns on when +12 volts DC is applied to the remote terminal
DC Offset: the amp turns on when a 6 volt surge is detected on the signal inputs (from a speaker level source)
Audio: the amp turns on when an incoming audio signal is detected (can be used with line level or speaker level inputs)

Gain Control: The rotary gain control allows you to match the output level of your headunit to the input level of the powered subwoofer.

Crossover: The 12 db/oct low-pass crossover is always engaged; the crossover point is adjustable from 50 to 200 Hz.

Bass Boost: Use the rotary dial to adjust the bass boost; continuously variable from 0 to +12 dB, centered at 45 Hz.

Phase: A switch allows you to reverse the phase of the subwoofer (0°, 180°).

Protection Circuit: The P300-12T is equipped with thermal overload, over voltage, and short circuit protection. The amplifier will shut down if any of these situations is encountered.

Punch Level Control: A wired Punch Level Control is included so you can adjust the output level from the driver's seat. The remote has a bracket to mount it under the dash. The included 16-1/2' cable, with a 3.5mm stereo mini-plug on each end, connects the remote to the subwoofer. Note: The Punch Level Control measures approximately 2-3/8" wide x 1" high x 2" deep (3-1/2" deep including the knob and cable).

Dimensions: The dimensions listed in Features and Specs include the subwoofer's grille, and the power and signal wiring harnesses, which add approximately 1.0" and 1.5" respectively. The depth of just the enclosure is 8.50" at the base and 4.750" inches at the top. The width without wiring is 26.0".

The only notable difference is a the different dimensions and shape of box. The P300-12T is a "truck box" design where the subwoofer is mounted on the slanted surface. The P300-12 is a traditional sub box design with a the subwoofer on a vertical surface opposite of the slant on the back of the box.

Hello. I'm installing this in a 2020 chevy malibu. My question is, where do I connect the power cable? Sounds like a dumb question, but there's 2 batteries, and no normal positive connection. There's a jump start tab on the main battery, but I read on a forum that if you connect to that, the bass will cut out when you take your foot off the brake for some reason. Thanks so much in advance.

I've seen tutorials where people wire it (via the cut RCA cable) to only one speaker. Should I wire it to one speaker? Or both rear speakers?

Greetings Jason. Thank you for your question. Stereo receivers send out audio to a left and a right speaker. Sometimes there is sound coming out the right, but not the left and vice versa. If connected to lets say the left speaker, and there is not bass at the particular time, but there is on the right speaker, the sub does not play that side. Its best to connect to both sides.

We do not qualify universal fit subwoofers like the Rockford Fosgate P300-12T truck-style 300-watt subwoofer in our Vehicle Guides, Tony. This fit also depends on if you have the underseat storage boxes as well, so we recommend taking some accurate measurements and comparing to the listed specs on the Rockford. Those are below: 27-1/2"Wide 15"Height 9-1/2"D1 x 5-3/4"D2 Any items that are too close to call and simply don't fit can be returned within 60-days. What I can say for sure is that the Rockford Powered subwoofer is one of the top-performers and will add a serious amount of bass to your setup!

I have a 2017 F150 Lariat SuperCrew (full size 4 door). It doesn't have the Sony package. Does have an 8" screen that allows CarPlay. Question is, will this fit under my backseat? and it should be compatible with the stock in dash stereo right?

I have a 2005 dodge Dakota st with an extended cab. I had one already installed then decided to get another one. I have an alpine cde 175bt. So I had to get a set of extra preamps to split 2 into 4. one was run to one and the other to the other one. Then all I had to do was run extra power wire and ground with speaker wires. On my truck, the 2 power wires are run down the driver's side. The speaker wires are run down the passenger side to keep interference down. make sure you measure carefully better than me. After I got then installed had to modify my door an extra 2 inches to make sure it fits. But sounds great if adjusted right. Now I opted for Crutchfield to make a special wiring harness to my truck well worth the money I think. when I bought mine each speaker was around 300x2 then the wiring to get the extra warranty from the manufacturer was around 65x2 the preamp splitters get the ones that were around 50x2 I think I got the others at first but a loose fit. My alpine was around 199.00 So I have over 1000.00 in mine but to me, it is well worth it. Also depending on your radio and truck, you might have to get more or fewer things?? It is not hard just plan it out ahead of time and run all your wires first. Make sure you have a very good gound.

I had researched this prior to buying and basically came to the conclusion that if you have the space, go with the standard box. If going in a convertible or truck with limited space go with T-sub box. I think the standard will produce better sound honestly.

Don't see why not. I connected it to my factory radio. Ran power cable from battery and got the audio signal from the rear speakers wires. Sounds pretty good too. Good Luck

Well I Am a novice when it comes to installation, but you can get a line output converter that takes the signal from speaker wire close to where your sub will be. It basically converts the signal to an RCA jack that goes to your sub. And you will also need an amp wiring kit to power the amp.

If you do not want to remove the head unit (and assuming you do not already using a separate amp with low level inputs), then you can use the high-level inputs to this subwoofer. High-level inputs use the signal to the regular speakers. High level inputs are not as "clean" as low level input (due to the fact that it is an amplified signal, which always has some level of distortion and noise). This is why low level inputs are preferred. But if you just want to get it working without the hassle, then you can run wires from your existing speakers to the high-level inputs on the sub.

This looks like the amp is enclosed inside the box, where does the heat from them amp escape? Doesn't the amp overheat?

I have run this sub for a year. Never had it overheat or shut down. I am very impressed. I used to build my own sub boxes, and had to fuss around with deadening, and ports to get them sounding good. This this was perfect upon hook up. Thump and full range without the boomy resonance. I may never go back to custom boxes.

Been running the amp and speaker for 6 months. No issues with the heat from the amp. Only thing, the wrap on the box itself has cracked a little.

Yes its inside and its a sealed box so you'd think it would overheat. I've had mine for quite a while now and it hasn't overheated once and I've put some serious bass to it.

I've had this subwoofer enclosure for 7months and it does not overheat. I'm not quite sure where the heat escapes from but no overheating. It's installed in a 2019 Dodge Ram truck.
