About the Boyo VTL375LTJ

Perfect placement and built-in LEDs

This Boyo backup camera gives you a slim-profile license plate frame that doesn't call attention to itself and provides a simple, subtle mounting location. The clean design doesn't obscure your license plate, making it a solid choice in all fifty states. Boyo uses a sturdy zinc metal frame for a long life and mounts the waterproof rear-view camera on an up-and-down swivel, so you can get exactly the picture you want.

Boyo uses a sturdy zinc metal frame for a long life and mounts the waterproof rear-view camera on an up-and-down swivel, so you can get exactly the picture you want.

Active parking lines

Be more precise when you back up with active parking lines that curve as you turn. This cam predicts your trajectory and shows you where you're headed in reverse so no spot is too tight.

Excellent, wide-angle picture

Boyo uses a CMOS image sensor that gives you the best picture possible and a 175º wide angle for a comprehensive view. Also, built-in LEDs illuminate the way when it's dark outside. The package includes a 23-foot video cable that runs from the camera to the video screen up front.

Note: A rear-view camera provides an additional view when reversing your vehicle. It is intended to be used in conjunction with your rear- and side-view mirrors to give a fuller picture of what's behind you. It is not intended as a replacement for your mirrors.

Installing this camera yourself? Here's what you should know.

What does it do? Unless otherwise noted, a backup camera is only intended for use backing up your vehicle. (If you require a front-view or constant rear-view camera, check for that capability.)

What tools and supplies will I need? A panel tool, a wire cutter/stripper, a soldering iron, and a rosin-core solder with heat shrink tubing are recommended, along with whatever tools are needed to remove the radio from the dash.

How much wiring is required? Wiring instructions vary from camera to camera. Some cameras have power wiring that can only be connected near the radio. Others let you power the camera at compatible reverse lights. In all cases, the camera must be wired for power and ground, the camera's video output must be connected to the radio/monitor, and the radio/monitor must be connected to a reverse trigger in your vehicle. Some radio replacement interfaces supply a reverse trigger wire for the radio -- using that wire to power your camera will damage the interface.

Will the included video cable be long enough? You'll need to route the camera's video cable from its mounting location outside your vehicle into your vehicle's cabin and all the way to the screen in the dash. This often requires drilling a small hole in your vehicle or filing some metal and or plastic. You'll also need to estimate the length of cable needed to run from the camera to the dash, which will not be a straight shot. Each camera's cable length is listed.

Features

Overview: The Boyo VTL375LTJ backup camera features an integrated license-plate bracket and CMOS camera with dual integrated LEDs. The Boyo backup camera can provide a clear, 175° wide (diagonal) picture of what's behind your vehicle, even at night.

Note: The Boyo VTL375LTJ is meant as a driving aid only; never solely rely on the camera. In addition to using the camera, always look around you to make sure everything is clear.

Universal Fit: The VTL375LTJ license-plate frame is designed to mount around a standard license plate and includes a total of 29.5' of video cable, allowing it to be installed in most consumer vehicles. The camera angle can be adjusted up or down to match any license plate height. The included 4-pin video extension cable gets run from the rear of the vehicle to the front. A 14" adapter is provided, converting the 4-pin cable to a standard composite video plug, allowing it to be used with most aftermarket in-dash video screens. The camera includes a built-in 31" video cable with 4-pin connector.

LEDs: The Boyo license-plate frame includes two built-in 3W LEDs to light up the area behind you when reversing. A bare-ended green wire on the 4-pin-to-composite video adapter cable must be connected to a switched power source, such as the vehicle's reverse wire or to the fuse box using an optional toggle switch (not included).

Wire Loop Switches: The VTL375LTJ includes blue and white loop wires on the 4-pin-to-composite video adapter cable that can be used for selecting or de-selecting Dynamic Park Assist Lines and Image Selection.

  •  Dynamic Park Assist Lines: The Boyo VTL375LTJ will display park assist lines on your connected monitor to aid you in backing up into a parking spot. A built-in gyro-sensor allows the park assist lines to dynamically curve as you steer and angle your vehicle. The camera comes default with the parking guide lines On; cutting the blue loop wire will remove the parking guide lines.
  • Image Selection: Designed primarily as a backup camera, the VTL375LTJ's default display is a Reverse (Mirror) image. If a Normal image is desired, or if the camera will be mounted on the front of a vehicle, the white loop wire can be cut for a Normal display.

Weatherproof: The Boyo VTL375LTJ's camera and zinc-plated mount carry an IP68 rating for long-lasting outdoor use.

Q
Does it work on a 2007 Lincoln Mark LT factory navigation unit? if not which camera is compatible with this head unit? thanks, El
[ Eleazar  Jan 12, 2023 ]
1 answer
A
Great question! This aftermarket Boyo camera would not be compatible with the factory navigation radio. At this moment we don't have a vehicle specific camera to add onto your stock system but that could always change in the future. As far as the possible upgrades we do have, you are more than welcome to give us a call at 800.324.9695 to speak with an advisor and we will get you taken care of!

Q
led lights not working ?
[ TRACY  Jan 07, 2023 ]
1 answer
A
The LED lights not working on the backup camera could be a few different problems and a phone call would definitely be the easiest way to help resolve the issue. The direct line for tech support would be on your emailed invoice but if you're unable to find that then please give us a call at 800.324.9695 and one of our friendly advisors will get you taken care of!

Q
Can this unit be mounted on the bottom of the license plate instead of on top?
[ F PETER  Sep 20, 2022 ]
1 answer
A
The bolts are evenly spaced apart so the camera could be mounted upside down on the bottom but it is designed to installed right side up for the best viewing angles.

Q
Will this unit give a view of the ball hitch or bumper?
[ John  Jul 16, 2022 ]
1 answer
A
This Boyo VTL375LTJ has a wide 175 degree viewing angle, JF. In the horizontal adjustment setting this should show a good view of the ball hitch, but if you want to dial it even more the barrel that the camera is mounted swivels up and down inside the square frame. You can point it right at the hitch if you prefer! With a resolution of 700 tv lines (around 780p) this Boyo's CMOS sensor shows great detail, especially paired with an aftermarket radio that has a good resolution screen.

I feel the LED lights make a glare at night. Would unhooking the lights help this?

Not wiring the lights will be fine. The camera does very well at night without them. I have tested it out both ways.

Does this use the same 6 pin mini DIN as the VTK601HD? I had purchased the VTK601HD, but I think I would like to use one with lights. Looking to swap out the camera without having to redo the full install.

I don't have a printed wiring diagram but I may can help you. Are you having an issue with identifying the wires or what exactly is it?
[ MATTHEW  May 19, 2020 ]
A
This is how I did mine for reverse camera and camera option on radio. All red wires tie together. Yellow plugs into yellow. Reverse negative taillight wire ties to the black wire in camera. Green wire ties to positive wire in reverse light. Green and positive taillight ties into an additional wire you must purchase, 18 gage and that wire runs with the yellow and red extension through your vehicle to radio. Behind radio...yellow plugs into camera. All reds tie together and the additional wire you ran (that's connected to the green positive reverse light.) Connect that to the REV wire behind radio.

I know, I had to call costumer service, they were really nice. Plug the video yellow to the yellow video of the unit, red to red on the unit , bring the wires to the back, use the adaptor cable and red to red, and I believe green to the reds if you want to have the lights on by the camera all the time and black to ground. I hope it helps
[ ANTAR  May 19, 2020 ]

Hi Colin, I didn't receive a schematic either but I have installed backup cameras before so I did it like before with good results... Black - to metal ground near the back license plate Red. - camera power goes to switched 12-14V at nearby backup lights when transmission is put in reverse. LED - connect to same source as the red so LED on either side of the camera comes on when tranny is put in reverse. The long video coax cable running to the head unit also has a red power wire which I didn't use. I presume this handy wire is optional in cases where the head unit needs rear camera input at times other than while backing and in that case the head unit would need to supply the rear camera power when it wants camera input.
[ BRETT  May 18, 2020 ]
A
Me too, online at boyo has an video that explains. Very simple. Green trigger wire for led's and red trigger together into reverse light wire. Red power and black ground in rear. Red trigger up front to radio so when you go into reverse camera comes on.
