About the Klipsch Cinema 600

Klipsch style and sound quality

The Cinema 600 sound bar has a low-profile design that will fit easily into your living room. It also has some premium touches — wooden endcaps, a wraparound grille cloth, and Klipsch's signature Tractrix® horn-loaded tweeters at each end for a hint at what's under the hood.

Klipsch style and sound quality

The bar's built-in amplification powers seven drivers for an audio upgrade that will definitely make a noticeable impact on movie night. The Cinema 600 also comes with a wireless subwoofer in an attractive wooden enclosure. It's larger than the subs that are usually included with sound bars, with a 10" down-firing driver for deeper, harder-hitting bass.

Klipsch Cinema 600 sound bar

Cinema 600's low profile and wide design complement today's large flat-screen TVs.

Follow the plot

It can sometimes be hard to hear dialogue over background sounds in shows and movies. The Cinema 600's dedicated centre channel can help with that. This system also comes with three levels of dialogue enhancement, so you can choose the setting that's just right for you.

Surround yourself

The Cinema 600 is compatible with Klipsch's optional Surround 3 wireless rear speaker kit for a complete surround sound upgrade.

Bluetooth streaming

Whether you want to stream your favourite Spotify® playlist, shuffle all your Pandora® stations, or listen to your downloaded podcasts and audiobooks, this sound bar has you covered with Bluetooth built in.

Product Research

Features

3ch Active Soundbar Speaker: The Klipsch Cinema 600 active soundbar employs a 3-channel speaker configuration with dedicated left, right, and center channels to create a cinematic soundstage. The front left and right channels provide true stereo imaging, while the discrete center channel delivers enhanced vocal clarity. The left and right front channels each consist of a 3" fiber composite woofer and a 1" LTS soft-dome tweeter paired with 90° x 90° Tractrix horn. The center channel consists of two 3" fiber composite woofers and one 1" LTS soft-dome tweeter paired with 90° x 90° Tractrix horn. The tweeters and woofers are bi-amplified and utilize a DSP-controlled crossover network.

  • LTS Tweeter w/ Tractrix Horns: The three 1" LTS soft-dome tweeters with 90° x 90° Tractrix horns deliver crisp highs. The Linear Travel Suspension (LTS) soft-dome tweeters minimize distortion for enhanced, detailed performances; while the 90° x 90° Tractrix horn technology offers controlled dispersion that directs the sound more effectively at the listening area.
  • Fiber Composite Woofers: The four oval 3" fiber composite woofers deliver clear midrange, detailed vocals, and a dynamic range to complete the soundbar's enhanced audio performance.

Wireless Powered Subwoofer: The included wireless powered subwoofer can be placed practically anywhere in the room for deep, room-filling bass response. The wireless powered sub houses a down-firing 10" fiber composite woofer with rubber surround inside a bass reflex enclosure with a down-firing slot port and driven by a built-in amplifier. Wireless 2.4 GHz technology automatically connects the soundbar and the subwoofer together and has a wireless range up to 30'. You can control the output level of the sub from the included IR remote. There is also a mono-RCA subwoofer output meaning you can add a second powered subwoofer to your setup or simply replace the included wireless powered sub with a powered subwoofer of your choice.

Optional Wireless Surround Speakers: Add the Klipsch Surround 3 speaker (sold separately) to the Cinema 600 for discrete 5.1ch Dolby Digital and DTS surround sound. The Surround 3 speakers connect to the Cinema 600 wirelessly, so there are no cables to run from the soundbar to the speakers. However, each Surround 3 Speaker will require an AC power outlet connection. A USB transmitter is included with the Surround 3 speakers that plugs into the USB port of the Cinema Series soundbar (the USB port is hidden behind the soundbar's right wood end-cap), which allows for wireless pairing. The Surround 3 speakers can be placed on a table-top or stands (sold separately), or mounted on the wall using an optional bracket (sold separately).

Dolby Digital Decoding with Sound Modes: Support for Dolby Digital (up to 5.1ch) enables a powerful cinema experience. The Klipsch Cinema 600 also lets you choose from four Sound modes - Surround, Dialog, Night, or Off.

  • Surround: Surround mode gives you an immersive virtual surround sound effect without the additional rear speakers and wires.
  • Dialog: Dialog mode increases dialogue volume for enhanced vocal clarity without increasing ambient sounds. The all new custom-tuned dialog modes not only raise the volume of the dialogue in your TV shows and movies, but also optimize the EQ setting of the system, to ensure the dialogue is crisp, clear, and exceptionally intelligible no matter what’s happening on screen. Three levels of dialog mode ensure that you can find the perfect setting for your needs.
  • Night: Night mode adjusts the dynamic range for quieter listening environments.
  • Off: When the Sound mode is set to Off, the soundbar will playback in 2ch stereo.

Note: The Cinema 600 is not compatible with DTS.

HDMI ARC Output: The Klipsch Cinema 600 features one HDMI ARC output to connect the soundbar to your TV's HDMI ARC input. The Cinema 600's HDMI ARC output allows audio from your TV to be sent through the soundbar system. The HDMI ARC output supports Dolby Digital (5.1ch) and PCM (2ch).

  • Some televisions will only pass 2ch PCM through the ARC-enabled HDMI input from devices connected to the TV via HDMI or analog, and will only pass Dolby Digital via the TV's built-in tuner, network apps, or USB.
  • The HDMI ARC Output only supports audio transmission and does not support any type of video signals.
  • Does not support HDMI eARC, Dolby Digital Plus, Dolby TrueHD, DTS, DTS-HD, Dolby Atmos or DTS:X.

Digital & Analog Inputs: In addition to HDMI ARC connectivity, the Klipsch Cinema 600 is outfitted with both digital and analog audio inputs. The optical (toslink) digital input supports Dolby Digital (5.1ch) and PCM (2ch). The Cinema 600 is also equipped with an analog Aux (3.5mm) input for connecting legacy source devices.

Note: The optical digital output terminals of many flat-panel TVs only send an audio signal in 5.1ch when receiving Dolby Digital surround sound from the TV's built-in tuner, network connection, or connected USB device; and will output only 2ch stereo from sources connected to the TV via HDMI, or RCA (like your Blue-ray player or satellite/cable box).

Built-In Bluetooth: The Klipsch Cinema 600 features built-in Bluetooth with support for A2DP and AVRCP which allows you to wirelessly stream and control audio from your Bluetooth-enabled source device (such as your TV, smartphone, tablet, or computer) to the soundbar system. The Cinema 600 supports Bluetooth's standard SBC audio codec (not compatible with Dolby Digital/DTS, AAC, or aptX). The soundbar's remote can control the Volume Up/Down and Play/Pause functions of your Bluetooth source device (in some cases you may need to still use your Bluetooth source device's volume control). You can pair multiple devices (up to 8) with the soundbar, but only one device can be used at a time.

  • The soundbar system does not support Fast Forward/Rewind, Previous/Next Track, Random/Repeat or Music Browsing functions. You'll still need to use your Bluetooth source device to control these playback and search functions.
  • The soundbar and your connected TV will not display song/artist/album info. This will still need to be done from your Bluetooth source device.
  • The Cinema 600 does not support Bluetooth hands-free communication for making or answering phone calls.
  • Due to the differences in Bluetooth technology, some Bluetooth enabled devices may be incompatible, function improperly, or may not support all features when used with the soundbar system.

Remote Control: The included IR remote control provides full wireless operation of the soundbar speaker system. It features an automatically-activated LED backlight, so its easy to use in the dark when watching your favorite movie. You can also program the Cinema 600's Volume Up/Down and Mute functions into your existing TV or satellite/cable box remote for further ease-of-operation.

  • Many newer TVs are coming with RF remotes and don't offer IR functionality. In this case, you would not be able to program the soundbar and TV or satellite/cable box remote to work together.
  • The Cinema 600 does not support HDMI-CEC.

Klipsch Connect App: The Klipsch Connect app (for Apple iOS 12.4+ & Android OS 7.0+) lets you control certain functions of the Cinema 600 from your compatible smartphone or tablet. Your compatible Apple iOS or Android OS device will need to be connected wirelessly to the Cinema Series soundbar via Bluetooth. The Klipsch Connect app provides control functions, such as Sound Modes and Volume Level.

Mounting Options: Measuring less than 3" tall, the soundbar speaker easily fits below your TV regardless if you are placing it on a table-top or mounting it on a wall. The soundbar includes two wall-mount brackets with keyhole slots and comes with a wall-mount template (wall-mount screws not provided). Because the powered sub is wireless, it can be positioned almost anywhere up to 30' from the soundbar speaker. It is recommended that the subwoofer be positioned on the same wall as the soundbar.

Power Requirements: Both, the active soundbar & wireless powered sub, will require AC power. Each one comes with a detachable 6.5' AC power cord that will need to be plugged into an AC power outlet or surge protector (sold separately - see Accessories Tab).

Q
can u get a replacement for the remote?
terry  Feb 13, 2023

A
Unfortunately we don't sell an exact replacement for the original remote but we do sell a compatible universal remote by the company One for All called the Control 8 which I will link down below. https://www.crutchfield.com/p_4038REMOTE/One-For-All-Smart-Control-8.html

Q
Can you use the wireless sub with a receiver in a 5.1? or does the subwoofer only work with the soundbar.
c  Nov 14, 2022
1 answer
A
The subwoofer is designed to work only with the sound bar.

Q
Can I hook a turntable to this?
james  Jan 18, 2022
3 answers
A
I have not tried connecting a turntable to the Cinema 600. It does not have a built-in phono preamp (like Klipsch The Fives) so the phono preamp will have to be built-in to the turntable. Then you can connect it to the 3.5mm (1/8") female analog input at the back of the Cinema 600 using a 3.5mm TRS male to Left and Right RCA male breakout cable.
robert  Jan 19, 2022
A
If your turn table has hdmi or bluetooth you can connect to this.
kenneth  Jan 19, 2022
A
The input ports on the soundbar are an HDMI-ARC, an optical audio (toslink) and a 3.5mm aux analog port. If your turntable has the standard turntable analog out you'll need a pre-amp between the turntable and the aux analog port on the soundbar.

Q
Is there an equalizer to adjust the level of bass and treble?
tonytctc  Nov 28, 2021

A
Not exactly. There are 3 or 4 profiles you can select AND you can adjust the sub's volume. It's a great sounding unit for a simple TV and movie solution. OK for music.

There is only one input and it is an optical cable from the tv. The signal is then processed in the sound bar I would suppose. There is not multiple inputs. I hope this helps.

An absolute phenomenal sound experience, I have a Vizio 65 inch M series 4K tb hooked up to the cinema 600 & I was blown away, this system is set up in my bedroom , I ordered the two rear wireless surround sound spkrs & all I can say is WOW!! Downstairs in my living room I have the full home theater system ( all Klipsch tower & rear bookshelf spkrs), powered by a Yamaha digital Dolby surround receiver ... bottom line, I believe the cinema 600 along with the wireless rear spkrs sound better than the more expensive setup u have downstairs ... I highly recommend

the soundbar would only make the tv sound 100% better while watching tv, movies & gaming. I replaced my Polk soundbar with this one & love it.

I would say yes. There are multiple options for connecting the sound bar. The wireless USB piece needed for the wireless speakers connects in the end of the bar and is hidden. We have it just running from the TV. I am not using my avr receiver currently. Don't need it.

Does it pass thru Dolby Vision and 4K?
joe  Nov 30, 2020
6 answers
A
The sound bar has no HDMI inputs other than the one you connect to you HDMI Arc on your tv. I have no problem with 4K on my tv and Dolby playing through the sound bar. Since there's no extra HDMI's to plug devices into the sound bar itself- there is no pass through.
daniel s  Dec 01, 2020
A
It does not the way I have it set up is with the SONY 4k ultra player it has two HDMI out puts but HDMI 2 can be used for just audio and the other goes to the tv it's a much cleaner picture and sound , do to the fact that they don't the share the same wire to travel the signal back and fourth

how many watts does the 600 have ?
terry  Nov 16, 2020

A
600 watts supposedly but there is no way that rms,but if your movie has good sound recorded this system will shock you with sound quality.
adnan r  Jun 19, 2021
A
600 watts supposedly. There's no way that's rms but even if it's peak the wattage is higher than most sound bars. This thing goes loud and the subwoofer is definitely powerful. I'd estimate the sub has 150-250 watts going to it and the soundbar 100-150 at the most (rms).
shawn  Dec 02, 2020
A
600 watts

Is the cinema 600 compatible with the nano cell 85 series and what is the best way to hook it up if so so I do not lose any quality?
josh  Nov 15, 2020

Yes it should be compatible. Check your HDMI inputs for one labeled "ARC/eARC", this will be the best way to hook it up.
erick  Nov 15, 2020

HDMI cable from sound bar to TV and plug in power cords from sub to outlet and from sound bar to outlet and you're good to go!
bob  Nov 15, 2020
A
Should be compatible just be aware that this sound bar only has 1 hdmi input so i would not recommend unless your tv has multiple inputs.
