Functions: The RF1151A remote features 4 main buttons along the front panel, which are pre-programmed for Lock/Arm, Unlock/Disarm, Trunk/Hatch Release, engine Start/Stop, and a 5th Function button (F) on the side of the remote that's used for multi-button functions. The remotes can be programmed for up to 30 functions, all accessed using combinations of the 5 buttons. Q
What type of battery does it use, is it hard to replace?
[ Leigh  Jan 12, 2023 ]
1 answer
A
Each remote requires two CR2016 batteries. They are fairly easy to replace. The remote can be taken apart using a coin to pop the cover loose.

Q
Will this key replace my factory Nissan intelligent key or will I still need it for the car to operate?
[ Robert  Jul 24, 2021 ]

A
The fob is strictly that, a fob so it will replace the fob you currently have to lock / unlock the vehicle, but you still will need the key for the ignition so if your fob has the key built into it, you will either have to carry both fobs, or get a separate key cut for the ignition.
[ Robert Wade  Jul 24, 2021 ]
A
It will not replace it you need to key your original key

You will still need your factory Nissan Intelli-key to drive the vehicle.
[ JEFF  Aug 02, 2021 ]
A
If it is a push button start then YES, you will still need your factory key remote. These remotes only do the standard functions of keyless entry with alarm features and remote start.

This kit has been amazing I'd highly recommend one thing once installed you need to call the number on the card that comes in box with ur keys so they can give you the sequence to activate your remote.....I can start my car from over a block away....you wont be disappointed

Q
I installed one of these remote starters in my vehicle and it works great. If I want to add range by incorporating one of these remotes, do I need to uninstall and reprogram my iDataStart module?
[ GWENDOLYN  May 16, 2020 ]

A
No. If I remember correctly, it's a rather simple process. You need to plug the remote receiver into the i datastart module and then run the wire behind the pillar and place the receiver on the top part of the windshield by the roof. Once that is done, you just need to follow the "take over procedure"for the two remotes, and you're done. Maybe, a 30 min procedure
[ David  May 16, 2020 ]
A
Yes, if I'm remembering correctly. Had mine strapped in there pretty good the first time too. It's just adding the remote serial numbers and you're good to go more or less. You'll obviously have to send that cable to the module anyway, so should be pretty painless. They work great by the way, made installing the remote start "worth it" sort of speak.

Q
How do you program this?

Hi Bruce, thank you for your question! The iDataStart RF Kit key fobs are designed to be used with the iDataStart Digital remote start system. If you have the iDataStart system, and you purchased that from us, our tech support team will be happy to help you with programming your fobs. If you did not purchase your iDataStart system from us, please contact the manufacturer, or the vendor you purchased your gear from, they should be able to help. If you are just looking into getting your vehicle equipped with a remote start system, chat with an Advisor online, or give them a call at 1-800-324-9695. They will be able to pull up the info on your vehicle, and see what type of remote start systems will be compatible.

I don't know if it matters what series you have, HA, HC, etc but if I remember correctly, once you remote start the car with the factory key fob, unlock the car, insert the key and turn to the on position. Press the brake pedal. This is called the remote takeover procedure. Turn off your car, remove the key, exit the vehicle and close the door. Lock the car with the new remote. If you have two remotes you may need to redo this process one more time for the next remote. I hope this helps. Dave
