Horrible experience
Brian from ARVADA, CO on 3/25/2025
This player is very flaky, unreliable and requires hours of maintenance. I have a total of three players that I like to use in a group but it rarely works. I've spent hours upon hours with BlueSound tech support as well as Crutchfield tech support but so far no one has been able to help me. I've had this equipment for over a year so can't return it anymore, but if I could I certainly would.

Sounded great but doesn't sync up with other Bluesound products
Crutchfield customer from Houston, TX on 1/24/2025
I bought this speaker to play alongside my bluesound node, connected to my main system. Both were connected over wifi as I don't have a LAN option, and with this connection there was at lease a one second time delay between the two sounds systems, meaning I couldn't listen to them at the same time. I had the Pulse set up in the kitchen and my main stereo in my living room of an open concept house. If you want a multi-room speaker set up to play at the same time over wifi, this isn't the set up for you. I ended up returning the pulse.
Pros: Sounded great out of the box and easy to set up.
Cons: Pulse and Node don't sync over wifi

Bluesound PULSE M
Marc from Saugerties, NY on 11/4/2024
This purchase was a nightmare. The Crutchfield tech support team tried their hardest to get these speakers to connect to my iPhone but we had no luck at all. Thanks to the tech team - major thumbs down on the product. I returned them.
Pros:
Cons: Items were returned as they were sub par.

Great Addition!
John from Leesburg, VA on 6/10/2024
I have a NAD home theater (T778 with Martin Logan Motion 40s) and thought this would be a nice addition to our "Blue Sound" experience. I'm incredibly impressed with the build quality and interface. Please know that this speaker has an extremely neutral tone - it presents what was recorded, and doesn't add much color if any. I prefer that, but some might feel like it isn't "lively enough". There is a setting called "front row" that makes everything a bit more in your face (I think it is some sort of exciter or sonic maximizer sort of thing). These aren't my cup of tea, but probably would work for some. I really recommend this speaker for its sound and functionality - just understand that it's coming from PSB and NAD, and the engineers prioritized giving us a real representation of what was recorded.
Pros: Nice sonic characteristics Cool touch screen Nice design WIDE soundstage (not sure how they did that) Loads of range (highs and lows)
Cons: If you want "the disco smile" this is not your speaker.

Bluesound PULSE M
Ian from Warren, MI on 4/22/2024
Not worth what they charge for this. I get better audio quality from smaller Sony bluetooth speakers. The bass is impressive at very low volumes, but as soon as you turn the volume up at all (>78db), the internal amp reduces the bass driver output significantly. Also, due to the driver configuration, the overall sound is very U shaped, as there is only 2x 0.75" tweeters and 1x 5.25" midwoofer. You end up missing a lot of midrange detail (guitars, synths, vocals) as there isn't a driver that can reproduce it well. This could've been a much better product with 2x 2-3" full range drivers, 2x tweeters, and some passive radiators. They claim 80w of audio power, but that must be a "peak power" number as I was only able to see about 32w of draw from the wall, and that's with a high idle draw ~9w. Sonos ERA300 has a 3w idle power draw, and will pull upwards of 40w. Compared to the Sonos ERA300 (a much better buy), the Pulse M stands no chance. Vocals sound much cleaner and more natural, and separation is far better on Sonos. Plus the Sonos can get louder and sounds more balanced at full volume. The Pulse M will basically implement an increasing HPF with more volume until you're left with the tweeters nearly clipping. It's not a pleasant experience... Also, I could never get Airplay working, even though I have 3 other working nodes in the house. It would never be detected by my iOS devices. I wish this was better, since I like the Bluesound app and product offerings better
Pros: -Bluesound app -Ease of connection -Buttons/presets on unit -I/O options
Cons: -Sound quality -Volume output -Separation, sounds like a small speaker -Airplay didn't work for me

Reliable Clean Sound
Doug from Lincoln, NE on 1/8/2024
I needed to replace my old HEOS speakers. It boiled down to Bluesound vs Sonos. A lot of research was spent comparing the brands, and obviously I went the BlueOS route. The sound is truly audiophile grade, and the Bluesound speakers are lightning fast when responding to the BlueOS app (and they are NOT hardwired)! The Pulse M speakers really fill the house with clean sound. The design blends well with our house decor, and my wife especially appreciates the ease of choosing one of the five presets for her Spotify/TuneIn/etc options. These have made me a loyal BlueOS fan, and I will be adding more.
Pros: Audiophile Sound Reliable WiFi Connection Great BlueOS app
Cons: Not the least expensive option

Excellent, small near field speaker.
Martin from Waterford, WI on 12/10/2023
This is the 4th Pulse speaker I have purchased (Pulse I, Pulse Mini, Pulse Soundbar) + NAD Bluesound AV Receiver. We LOVE the Bluesound operating system - particularly Radio Paradise in MQA quality! Compared to the other speakers, this is more near field with a smaller soundstage. Perfect for bathroom. Solid bass, midrange and treble. Can turn it up loud with out breakup. Controls much improved over other speakers - can save 5 streaming favorite channels, no phone needed to start stream. Highly recommended.

Great for counter tops in kitchen, only need 1, i got 2, sounds good. a bit too much bass only con. syncs with other BluOs stuff. i can move to deck for parties then back inside thus somewhat replaces outdoor speakers. Can control all speakers / components in group on this unit - volume, track, on / off etc

Bluesound PULSE M
Ben from Black Mtn, NC on 7/19/2023
Spacious, room-filling sound. Well balanced. Wow! Installation and setup were simple and straightforward. I was braced for a hiccup--because stuff happens--which never occurred. FYI, I use the PULSE M as a satellite speaker for a NAIM Mu-so 2nd gen. which is integrated with Roon. The total system was working is less than 10 minutes. It works beautifully!
Pros: Ease of integration Ease of operation Quality of sound Unobtrusive
Cons: None

Average sound quality
Jerry from Stevensville, MD on 3/17/2023
I wouldn't consider it audiophile quality sound. Actually, I don't think it sounds any better than a typical Bluetooth speaker that you would take to the beach. But for whole house music and if you have a bluesound node and want to add another room and your wife doesn't want to see any speakers this might be your answer.
Pros: Easy to add music to a room
Cons: Overpriced Average sound quality

This speaker replaced a Blusound Flex 2i which was moved to a different room. The upgrade is phenomenal! Great bass and overall musicality. Detail from MQA streaming source is incredible. Highly recommend.

Pretty amazing sound! Clear, no distortion, and easy to set up even as a stereo pair!
Pros: Easy setup, looks, great, sounds a lot "bigger" than they look
Cons: Had to load setup manually, but not a big deal.

Bluesound PULSE M
Tom from Minneapolis, MN on 11/9/2022
BluOS and and the connectivity speed are awesome, but the sound is bright and a bit thin. Music sounds far closer to the HomePod attached to my TV than an old Mu-so Qb in an office room, which makes good sense of its price and size. It's a good auxiliary box, and a gateway to either the latest Powernode or NAD 399 depending on how ambitious a next purchase is.
Pros: BluOS and processing speed
