Two features really jump out at me with the ATH-CKS50TW wireless earbuds. One is the strong bass: Audio-Technica tuned their large 9mm drivers to thump out deep, punchy low-end. The other is the incredible battery life. These earbuds offer up to 15 hours of music listening with noise cancellation — and up to 20 hours without it — on a full charge. That's a lot for this category.
The ATH-CKS50TWs are bigger than most earbuds, likely so the drivers have space to do their thing. Overview: The Audio-Technica ATH-CKS50TW truly wireless in-ear headphones deliver exceptional sound quality and digital hybrid noise-cancelling. The independent left and right ear buds connect wirelessly to your smartphone or tablet via Bluetooth 5.2. The ear buds have an IPX4 water-resistance rating for protection from splashing water, including rain or sweat. The headphones come with a compact charging case, 4 pairs of ear tips, and a USB-C charging cable.
ANC: The truly wireless headphones feature an active noise cancelling (ANC) function to significantly reduce ambient noise. The built-in microphones on each ear bud pick up noise from the surrounding environment and cancel out that noise with an out-of-phase signal. The noise-cancelling function works mainly in the lower frequency range to reduce noise from air conditioners, airliners, or vehicles.
Hear-Through: In addition to the ANC function, the headphones have a Hear-Through function to enhance external sounds. When enabled, Hear-Through focuses on the human voice to help you carry on a conversation with another person, or listen to public transportation announcements without removing the ear buds.
Bluetooth 5.2: The ATH-CKS50TW have Bluetooth 5.2 technology to give you a solid, dependable wireless signal and excellent range (33' line-of-sight). They are compatible with A2DP, AVRCP, and HFP profiles, and support Qualcomm aptX and aptX Adaptive, AAC, and SBC codecs for enhanced sound quality. Multi-point Bluetooth Connection lets you pair your ear buds to two different sources at the same time. You can listen to music on your laptop, and automatically switch to a phone call that comes in on your smartphone. The headphones are also compatible with Google Fast Pair, which quickly pairs your headphones with your Android smartphone or other device.
Low Latency Mode: When playing games or watching videos on your smartphone or tablet, you can enjoy a more immersive experience with the Low Latency Mode. The Low Latency Mode can be activated from the Audio-Technica Connect app, and reduces the sound delay between the action on the screen and the audio.
Drivers / Ear Tips: The ear buds are equipped with specially designed 9mm dynamic drivers for clear, full-range audio reproduction. Four pairs of silicone ear tips (XS, S, M, L) are included for best fit and isolation from ambient noise.
Microphone: Each ear bud has a microphone for phone calls. The microphone features Qualcomm cVc (Clear Voice Capture) Generation 8.0 technology so that your calls are clear and natural sounding. The sidetone function lets you hear your own voice during calls for a more natural-sounding calls.
Charging Case: The ATH-CKS50TW includes a compact charging case which has its own 3.7V, 600mAh Lithium-ion rechargeable battery. The ear buds start charging when you place them in the case. The auto power feature turn on the headphones when you take them out of the case, and turn them off when you place them in.
Battery Power: Each ear bud has a built-in 3.7-volt Lithium-ion rechargeable battery. On a full charge, the ear buds have a battery life of approximately 20 hours. The battery in the charging case provides an additional 30 hours of battery life, for a total of 50 hours when the headphones and case are fully charged. The ear buds charge inside the case in approximately 3 hours. After a quick 10-minute Fast-Charge, the headphones will provide approximately 90 minutes of continuous playback. On-board Controls: Multi-function buttons on each ear bud housing let you control your music playback and phone calls. The multi-function button on the left ear bud controls volume up (one press) or volume down (two presses), adjusting one level at a time. The right ear bud controls music playback: play/pause (one press), next track (two presses), or previous track/start track over (three presses). When a call comes in while you're listening to music, your music will pause, and you can answer the call by pressing the multifunction button on the left or right ear bud. You can reject the call, make a call, or end a call by pressing and holding the button for about 2 seconds.
Audio-Technica Connect App: The Audio-Technica Connect app shows the battery status of each ear bud on your phone screen and lets you change the settings of your headphones. The app offers a balance adjustment between your left and right ear buds, if needed, and an equalizer for fine tuning the sound. You can select the desired Bluetooth codec of your choice for the sound quality or connection status you want. The headphones' on-board controls can be customized according to your preference. The app also features a product guide that you can access at any time to get the most out of your headphones. Using the GPS feature of your phone, the app can help you locate lost ear buds by displaying on a map the location where you last disconnected. The app is available for iOS devices running version 13.0 or later, and for Android devices with Android 8.0 and up.
360 Reality Audio: The ATH-CKS50TW is certified compatible with Sony's 360 Reality Audio which provides a more immersive listening experience. Using Sony's 360 Spatial Sound technology, individual sounds such as vocals, chorus, and individual instruments can be placed in a 360 Spherical Soundfield that surrounds you with sound. 360 Reality Audio requires a subscription to a compatible online music service, and fees may apply.

My first pair of ANC earbuds, and I am very pleased with my purchase. They are large so they can get uncomfortable after long periods but the battery life is awesome. Did a great job of canceling noise on a long distance Amtrak ride.
