Easy setup. I checked the cartridge alignment with protractor and the stylus pressure with gram balance Both were accurate. Cartridge sounds great Can't beat it at this price point. This is a gift for my son who is starting to collect vinyl.

Vinyl To Digital Happiness

As I am frequently on the go when I want to listen to my music collection, vinyl to digital transfer capabilities were key drivers in my turntable purchase decision. And with Audio-Technica's strong brand reputation I was eager to try the LP-120XUSB. After receipt, setup, and download and installation of Audacity I was ready to try out the gear. Unfortunately I was unable to get a signal from the turntable to my MacBook Air. After only a little bit of fiddling with settings I called Crutchfield support. The Tech walked me through a few things that also proved unsuccessful. And so he told me that the next step was to escalate the issue to a specialist there and that I should receive a call within 48 hours. A little longer than that I received the call and not long afterward we had a working solution. Now, I have a working process that gives me the vinyl ripping capability for some long-unplayed records to goes-anywhere tunes on my phone. Thanks Crutchfield.

Great Value Turntable

With lots of expensive turntables to choose from, as well as a lot of cheap ones, it's hard to decide on whether to save money or skimp on quality in order to play a bunch of 40 and 50 year old records. This turntable makes the decision easy. Its sufficient quality will please 90% of users and its affordability makes it approachable on anyone's budget. If you've owned turntables before, the set-up is not very difficult. The strobe and needle positioning lights are probably not needed but look cool. I'm not sure I will ever use the tempo control slider and would prefer to have a reverse play and or auto shut off option instead. But again, it looks kind of cool. The base is solid, the cartridge is acceptable and it does have an easily removable dust cover and a ground wire (my old Ion USB turntable did not). I'm not sure if the USB interface is worth the hassle but manually playing albums is a breeze. So far very happy with my choice.

Worth the $$$

I have used this turntable every day for a week and have no complaints. Setting it up is not complicated, and I am not mechanically inclined. Anti-skating calibration and cartridge alignment take patience. If you do happen to suffer from O.C.D, I suggest you just stick to CDs.

Plays well. Solid heavy unit. Would have liked an automatic lift or stop at the end of the record. Table brakes are good, it stops quickly.
Pros: -Heavy, (good for stability). +Has an on/off switch on top of the strobe. -Easy set-up. -Switchable built in preamp. -Audio cables not pre attached so you can lengthen or upgrade. -Many options for travel case at this size. -The light to light up the stylus will be great in darkened areas, it's also removable if you don't need it
Cons: -Fully manual. I don't know why there isn't a stop or lift. For my intended use I will be next to it so it's ok for me. -Would have liked a positive counterweight lock since I'll be moving it a lot. I'm going to mark mine so I can visually see it's in the right position. I don't know if any tables really have a lock, it's just since I will travel with it, I want to make sure it stays set. Maybe that's not a thing that exists though.

Okay but really a plastic toy

Six months in so far. This was my choice for an entry level table at $350-ish. It works but won't blow your mind. I run this through a Rotel RA-1572 MKII integrated amp, which is great. I also use the built-in phono stage on the Rotel, which is better than AT phono stage. The tone arm lever somehow lost its hydraulic function so the stylist drops like a brick. I have to lower it manually, with extreme care. Comes with AT-VM95E/H cartridge which I quickly swapped for the AT-VM95SH (Shibata). Much better, as you would expect. Pitch control slider is unnecessary for my purposes. CheapAudioMan describes this table as a "toy" and he is right. Nothing against Audio Technica but you should consider spending your cash on a better table if you are serious about vinyl. Like everything, you get what you pay for. Don't hate it but also don't love it. Happy listening!

This turntable checked all the boxes for me - a reputable brand, good reviews, and a pleasant price point. Set-up instructions were clear; downloaded the user's guide for more info and clarity re: balance-tracking info which helped. I am now enjoying listening to the vinyl collection that has been sitting un-enjoyed due to my faltering old turntable. A great addition to my system and one that didn't 'break the bank'.

- Very well packaging, it is sturdy, nice looking, and easy to install. If you have played with a turntable player before it won't take too long to install and set it up. - Including Stylus Target Light is helpful for me to see the tracks to cue in, and can see dust on disc surface so I can easily brush the dust off before playing. - The factory pre-alignment for turntable tonearm/Cartridge/Headshell/stylus are quite good. I verified it is perfect. - The anti-skating is working well. It helps good tracking and stable speed when playing a record. (Don't expect the anti-skate is perfect by factory, I always verify and re-adjust it) - The spinning speed is nearly perfect. I tested by using the RPM app on my cell phone, it gave good Wow/Flutter results around 0.16. - I swapped the cartridge with my own VM540ML and set tracking weight to 1.5 g, I made a sample recording and got much better sound compared to my old player. Both audio channels are well balance. That is proven this player is good tracking and good quality. - This player is all what I need and the price is fair. It met my budget and satisfaction.

I purchased this through the outlet store. I had thoughts going through my mind the whole time I was waiting for my delivery. Was thinking it would have all sorts of cosmetic "blemishes." Couldn't be further from the truth. It was perfect out of the box. Not even a fingerprint on anything. I hooked it up, turned it on and all I could say was WOW!! This definately beats any turntable I had in the 70's or 80's. I HIGHLY RECOMMEND THIS TURNTABLE! The sound as well as the nostalgia is just top notch. I couldn't be happier.

Only the second day since I set it up, but here are my early impressions: About 20 minutes to set up; wish there were print instructions as the pictures were not always easy to follow. No idea how to use the light (assume for speed adjustment). Tracks old beat-up LPs well with only minimal noise from the crackling, aging grooves. Sound is good, though I have a sneaking suspicion that a cartridge upgrade is called for. Generally happy with the purchase - was not expecting it to perform like a $1000 tt, just let me enjoy my records.

Replaced a 30+ year old manual Technics SL - QD35 (Quartz). Still working, but looking kind of ragged. This was an EXCELLENT replacement !!! It said online that it was on backorder with them possibly receiving them on Dec. 21st. I ordered it and it came 4 days later ! Crutchfield is the best ! This is also a great looking and great sounding turntable. Very happy with this purchase !!!

I've only had the turntable for a few weeks thus far so I can't comment on long-term performance. At this point, I'm very pleased with the unit. It arrived in good condition and assembly was fairly straight forward, although the setup instructions would benefit from a few words in addition to the pictures. Downloading the actual manual is a good idea as is looking at some on-line videos about setting up your turntable. The performance has been great so far with excellent response across the entire frequency range. I particularly notiice much greater clarity and detail in the sound as compared to my previous, somewhat low-end turntable. Listening again to even very old records has been a joy.

A great choice to hear those records again on a budget

I purchased this to be able to listen to some of my old vinyl records in the main family room. The USB port on the phono player was compatible with my Sony 5.1 surround sound system purchased from Crutchfield several years ago. The CD input on the amp and the phono output from the record player worked great.
Pros: Price. It came with a dust cover and cartridge with needle. It has a heavy base and decent protection from the needle skipping if anyone is walking past the record player while an album is playing. The sound is acceptable for this price.
Cons: It takes three steps to use this player. Turn the power on, you then have to turn the motion on to get the turn table turning, then diligently lift the arm off its holder. If not too careful the arm just takes off. Manual, you need to pick up the the needle after each side of the album.

I'm so happy with the sound that the LP-120XUSB brings from my classical, blues, and jazz vinyl. The price of this unit is a super value. I was guided to this unit by my Crutchfield advisor. I would have spent hundreds of dollars more for minor equipment upgrade with no perceptible audio gains.

I have trusted Crutchfield for at least 35 years. Probably longer, but I don't want to exaggerate too much. I was a Virginian when I first bought Crutchfield audio gear for my car. That must have been 35 years ago, if not longer. My newest purchase, an Audio-Technica turntable, arrived to me in Kansas, where I now live, in 48 hours. And it was a perfect delivery. Everything was an easy set-up, and I'm excited to own a quality turntable again for the first time in maybe 20-25 years. If you don't believe me, call them and ask for tips on what you might want to buy. They won't over-sell you, and all their gear is top of the line. Thanks, Crutchfield!

Believed I had bad cartrige. Called Crutchfield cust svc. They shipped me out a complete new turntable. Rather than unpack every part and assemble, I removed new cartdrige/tone arm shell, installed it in my original turntable and fixed my problem. Very happy with the turntable and customer service.

I bought this to replace a 15 year old First Gen usb turntable that was giving me trouble. I have 2 vintage turntables that I can use if I want to spin vinyl, so I only use this one for ripping albums onto the computer. It is much quieter than my old one and the sound is much better. Very happy with the purchase.

After doing some research as well as speaking with staff at Crutchfield I chose this turntable. I feel very pleased about it. So many pros and cons in picking out audio. In this case belt vs direct and fully manual were main considerations. Looking forward to transferring vinyl to the computer . Bought a separate head shell and a Pearl cartridge so I can swap them out. Some people might want semi automatic and Bluetooth but I think this feels more "purist"

Good versatile vinyl player

Good, versatile turntable. Easy connection and clear sound. I bought it in part to be able to record vinyl and finally got that working, but it was not simple or easy. The Audicity software has changed a lot and the instructions from Audio Technica and other internet sources have not kept up. And none of the instructions mention that the preamp switch has to be set for the turntable's preamp before you can record. My amp has its own phono preamp so I had to figure out switching on my own (I know, duh!). Now I can compare a digitized record I found an MP3 download and a record played over my amp's preamp sound better so I will only record what I can only get from a record, bit it is a good option to have.

Cons: Setting up recording function only easy for technically literate.

Sounds really good through Yamaha receiver. To tell the truth, not sure I hear much difference between digital source and records. Maybe slightly disappointed there isn't a difference? I will have to do a side by side comparison. Anywhats...Setup is clearly explained and simple. How it compares to other tables I can't say. My last experience with vinyl records was 45 years ago with my parents big console record player.

I have not had a turn table in years. I wasn't sure what to expect. It's manual and there's nothing automatic about it. Kinda cool. The crutchfield rep helped me over phone with this selection. He said it was a very nice and and bulletproof unit. Sounds good with newer klipsch speakers and older denon and marantz components. Pleased with the sound and quality.

Classic looks with modern features

I chose this player because it reminded me of the Realistic turntable my father had back in the 80s. The silver color is appropriate - all turntables when I was a kid were either silver or had cheesy fake wood veneer. It doesn't have all the automatic features of my parents' 70s Zenith (console stereo the size of a Buick) but the sound quality is better than I remember records sounding. I am the CD generation, but there was always something special about records, the mechanical nature of them, the fact you can see them working. In the 90s the thrift stores were full of good records really cheap because nobody wanted them anymore, but they're cool again - so brace yourself for LP prices!
Pros: Ability to hook up to a modern amp (built-in amp). Better sound than I remember from record players when I was a kid. The silver color is spot on - record players should be a statement piece, not plain old black plastic like everything else!
Cons: No automatic features, such as auto-return or auto-play, which were fairly common back-in-the-days; probably not considered audiophile these days or something. Still fun aiming the needle in the grooves.

Excellent turntable. Has all the features you made need and some you may not. Set up the turntable and no power. Had to call tech support to tell me how to turn the power on. Very embarrassing! I missed that part in the instructions which are very bare bones. Sounds great and easy to operate. Haven't used the BT feature (not sure I need it). Wish it had an auto start/stop switch like my 45 year old Technics SL-1600. Overall , recommend it.

Very good turntable for the price, easy to set up and use. Only complaint, the transformer is not in the turntable. it is on the cord. Because of this, it will use electricity 24/7. I plugged it into a switched power strip so I can actually turn it off. Annoying.

I've started getting back into physical media, and decided to get a turntable after inheriting several hundred records from my mother in law. This is my first turntable and after reading reviews decided it would be a good starting point and it has not disappointed. Set up was easy. I connected it to a Denon S750h and followed instructions for the tonearm. Listening to LPs from the 60s and 70s as well as some new stuff I've started to acquire has become a favorite evening activity with the kids.

I bought this for a basement system based on my restored Technics SA 400 and Sansui 5000x receivers. Interconnects are Evergreen. I did upgrade the stylus to red fairly quickly and I have yet to burn any files. That said, the green stylus sounded fine. The Solid Steel rack is well damped on spikes and gliders. Set up was a no brainer. Operation is effortless and the sound is superb with no detectable resonance from the well damped light weight platform. It's well matched with the Vintage receivers and the L 82's. Overall the quality is incredible for a table at this price point. Highly recommended.

So this is my 2nd AT120 I've owned. First one I had for 8 yrs (2015). The other generation had issues that AT has addressed since then. The unit is solid and they fixed the platter inconsistencies and also FINALLY having removable RCA plugs with a decent ground. Power cord unfortunately is beyond ridiculously cheap plus the fact of a plastic 45 spindle adapter(give me a break, this isn't an ION player) but fortunately I just transfered the one that came with my other AT table. What happened to the chrome tonearm??? The removable target light is too bright for my taste but that's a subjective thing. Be nice if they included a dummy cap to put in it's place so you don't have this big hole on the top if not being used. Unit produces a great, balanced sound. I got rid of the felt mat but most importantly (for me anyway) I upgraded my cartridge/stylus to an Audio-Technica VM540ML/H.

I now understand why vinyl is making such a come back. Never knew lp's could sound this good! No poping and hissing like I remember as a kid. Unit is easy to set up, which is good because the "instructions" are a sheet of paper with pictures.
Pros: Seems like a very solid well built unit for the price. Looks great powered up and sound is excellent.
Cons: Wish things still came with an actual manual instead of having to find it online and download.

Great turntable beefy, sounds good but when i crank it up there is annoying reverb from speakers...never did this with older turntable.the preamp is useless and the volume is much lower so i have to crank it up and when i do the reverb thing happens.so i dont think its excellent they messed up with volume thing and compatibility with older receiver isnt there

Great turntable for my purpose, which is getting back into vinyl and rebuilding my collection. It has wat I need to get started, and the quality is good out of the box. Appreciate the built in phono amp, so I didn't need to swap out amplifiers right away. Have to also give kudos to the customer service experts at Crutchfield who helped me with my decision.

After using it with a few records, it worked very good. The only issues I ran into was the light for shining on the record for spotting where to start the record didn't really help much.

Easy to put together. Works and sounds great. Don't understand what the Pitch feature on it is all about. Haven't connected the USB cable to my computer yet. So I can't comment on that. I also like it in black. It looks professional and matches my preamp and amplifier.

I was surprised by the heft and quality of this turntable: Impressive! It was also very easy to assemble (despite drawing-only instructions). The only issue I had was finding the head and weights...they were tucked in at the back of the Styrofoam packaging. They should have had a drawing of that! The sound is awesome. I am considering a stylus upgrade, but with my 70+ years hearing diminution, I don't think I could tell the difference on the high end. As usual, the Crutchfield experience was perfect! Thanks, guys and gals. PS This is a MANUAL turntable, not semi-automatic. Be sure you are OK with that. PPS. I have not yet attempted digitizing records using the USB output, but it's nice to have and I intend to do so.

Paired with my Onkyo receiver and Klipsch speakers . Had to figure out why no sound initially Had to set the volume up on the phono source then everything went fine. Had to turn volume up to 55 to get any sound. Found out you I can preset the starting volume for each source on my Onkyo so the problem was solved. Quality unit, didn't think I would like manual be I do. RCA cables that come with it are trash, replaced them.

A really nice manual turntable elegantly designed with several outputs. It will work with old school amps that have "phono" inputs and newer amps with Auxiliary inputs without having to buy an additional pre-amp. There is even a USB digital output for digitizing your albums. All you need to do is install an open-source audio program on your PC. The unit comes complete with all audio and digital cables, power supply, 45 rpm adaptor and a head with the cartridge and needle preinstalled. Follow the instructions and set up is effortless. It also offers a choice between a variable pitch control or quartz locked speed. I love it!

In 2009 I purchased an Audio-Technica AT-PL 120 Professional Stereo Turntable, which is basically the same as the one that Crutchfield sells. I figured that with limited use and our Hawaiian air, a belt would be a liability, so I wanted direct drive. It was great! Until it wasn't. In 2020, it refused to rotate at all. Everything lights up and the turntable is free, but the motor won't rotate. Audio Technica was completely uninterested in providing any support. They said "If the platter on your turntable does not rotate after pressing the Start/Stop button, either the button or the motor controller is bad. I have copied our Repair Department to see if this is something they can still fix and if so, how much it might cost." I never received a reply. I also purchased a 78RPM cartridge and shell so I could switch between the two, but found that it does not weigh the same. Audiot Technica said "The ATP-2 Cartridge / AT-HS1 Headshell combination that was provided with the AT-LP120-USB Turntable weighs 17.2 grams (7.2 gram cartridge + 10 gram headshell). The AT-VM95SP/H Headshell/Cartridge Combo Kit weighs 15.5 grams (6.1 gram cartridge + 9.4 gram headshell). You will need to rebalance the tonearm and set the appropriate tracking force when changing them out. " Not very convenient!
Pros: Works well, does what it says, but inconvenient to change cartridges for 78 RPM records and did not last through many records. Operationally I really liked it, and it is well laid out with great features.

Crazy Performance from Audio-Technica

A very welcome addition to my entertainment system. I have been wanting a turntable for a few years, to breakout my old vinyl and start collecting new ones, and I finally took the plunge. I believe I might have bought a turntable with features that I may never use. Like the USB output that lets you create digital audio files from vinyl records, but you never know, I might get crazy enough to utilize that feature in the near future. Speaking of crazy, I did buy it for the stylus target light. Because I knew I was not going to be able to put it on top of my entertainment center and that I had to put it in a well ventilated, fairly dark shelf, which allows me to not only see what I am doing with the tonearm and accurately target the stylus to where I want it to be. But it affords me the pleasure of seeing my records spin around in their ambient light glory. I did have one slight issue with setting up the counterweight of the tonearm, but no problem there. YouTube mini video tutorial to the rescue. And within 2 minutes flat I was enjoying the warm robust and richness that vinyl can only produce. It does help to have Klipsch® speakers to deliver that extra wow factor to your listening pleasure. Very pleased with it's performance!

Great turntable with USB connectivity

I'm very happy with this USB-capable Audio-Technica turntable. I was pleasantly surprised with the quality of the included Audio-Technica AT-VM95E cartridge. One major reason for the purchase was the ability to record from the turntable to my PC using Audacity software. Took a little while to figure it out but it ultimately worked great (use the Line setting to an Aux input and not the turntable phono setting). I've made several recordings of LPs since the purchase. I do think the turntable's internal phono preamp is not as good as my Rotel (A12) integrated amp phono section, but that isn't a deal breaker. Turntable has a lot of nice features also. And Crutchfield's tech support and help are second-to-none.

Great buy for the price. Almost a Plug and play. Assemble very easy and enjoy great sound reproduction. Very stable and looks great. Optional led tracking light included and all cables needed to plug and play. USB output to be able to transfer vinyl treasures on to your computer. Cartridge Hrtz range is not bad for the price.

I have had it about a week and am really enjoying my old vinyl through my 90's pioneer receiver and some new Klipsch speakers. The turntable so far has met my expectations regarding sound quality. I have not yet attempted to digitize some of my albums. My only minor dissapointment is the tone arm lift mechanism - my old Pioneer table lifted and returned the tone arm very gently to and from the album. The lift on this is pretty abrupt, and the lowering or return to the album is OK. It is dampened, but not as much as I would prefer. I very minor issue, indeed. Simple to assemble, well packaged - I look forward to playing my Dire Straits albums!

Turntable seem Sturdy and and well built for this price point . I like the flexibility of having three speeds my Dad has a few old 78 records which I can now play or copy. The sound quality is excellent with the pre mounted cartridge. Unit came well packed and sealed by Crutchfield in addition to factory patching. Also the unit was easy to assemble. Solid, and a solid performer...

I've only been using this turntable for one night but I'm already a big fan. To begin, it just *feels* solid to me--much heavier than the Audio-Technica 60 this one replaced. The setup was straight-forward, though I did watch a couple of helpful YouTube videos before starting out. What I've heard out of it so far is great. I listen to a lot of old classical and baroque LPs (my collection includes disks pressed in the 1950s and 1960s) and I can hear every high and low...and every fault as well. This is the first manual turntable I have owned, so I'm still getting used to taking care of business at the end of every side. All in all, I would recommend this without reservation for anyone shopping for a turntable at this price point.

I bought this turntable back in November 2019. I went to use it the other day and it would not spin. I talked to Andrew about this and he thinks the motor burnt out. I also called Audio-Technica and they said the same thing. I am very disappointed that this product has already quit on me after only having for only 1 year and a half! This company has been around for quite a while and I figured this would be a good company to buy from. I had an old system that was over 25 years old and still worked, but thought it was time to upgrade my system. I had to hook up my old turntable so that I could still listen to my records. Will be shopping for another turntable, but think I will get a belt drive turntable. Will probably not be an Audio-Technica brand!

Purchased this as an open box...everything intact, nothing missing. Not difficult to assemble, but, as always, follow the step by step directions. The craftsmanship and technology would make you believe it would cost twice as much. The sound is real, and sets me back in time, especially if I am playing the " Mototown Story" five disc classic.... I especially like the small light that aims toward the cartridge. Very helpful in adjusting cartridge level.

I love this turntable !! It is everything it claims to be and more ! Outstanding sound reproduction and easy to set up. There is actually several variations to choose from...manual/automatic...belt drive/direct drive. I went with direct drive/manual. The unit is very well constructed and doesn't require a ton of space. In fact, mine fits perfectly on the $10 wood "tv tray" bought specifically for the turntable. I am a 60's baby so I grew up with listening to vinyl. That said...this is NOT the trusty all in one stereo that I had as a teenager. That was a kids toy in comparison. The stylus is worlds more sensitive and delicate then what I was used to. TRUST ME...I broke 2 in the first week! EDUCATE YOURSELF! Audio-Technica has several tutorial videos available on set up, use and care. WATCH THEM !!! You will be glad you did. The capabilities of this turntable far exceed what I need for my project. For me it wasn't about features, it was sound quality and reproduction. I wanted the highest quality I could get without putting myself in the poor house and the reviews for the LP120 were of the charts. I look forward to learning more about what it can do.

Cons: My fault, not the units...BUT...the stylus can be broken easily if proper care isn't given. Not hard to find a replacement but they are $49 a pop!

This turntable does what it's supposed to. It easily transfers vinyl to digital. It's acceptable looking and priced fairly. For that it receives four stars. However I have a few gripes. 1. It is not automatic. I do a lot of jumping up and down. 2. An important function, a line/phono button is tiny and in the rear, should be up front. 3. The wheel type on/off switch is buried inside a shroud making it very hard to use. 4. The strobe light is hard to see, doesn't help much. 5. The light stem is not exact, it doesn't help much. 6. The quartz slider bar is comically huge. Four stars for doing what I bought it for.

Really nice piece of equipment that I purchased in November 2019. Easy to set up and use with nice sound reproduction. I should have written when I first got it, but the: "hydraulically damped lift control" is not a very soft landing onto the record when it is released. It is a beautiful machine, but they should really address that because most people who still use records have had them for years and want to protect their collections. The 1975 Dual1229Q that I replaced had a failing motor, but the Q ing control still dropped like a feather.
Pros: The whole machine is great, except as previously indicated. Very reasonably priced as well.
Cons: The: "hydraulically damped lift control" is not a very soft landing onto the record when it is released.

A turntable needs to spin a disc at a set speed without wavering. The stylus has to track smoothly. A simple description of a complex process. This turntable fits this description well. Easy to use, sounds great. The light to guide stylus placement was a pleasant surprise.

I just got back into vinyl and I must say for the money, this turntable does not disappoint! It makes old records sound wonderful. I bought a record cleaning kit with a soft brush for the needle to ensure the records and needle are always clean for the sharpest sound quality. I've hooked it up to my Pioneer SX 850 Stereo Tuner/amp pushing 2 ADS 2-way speakers and it all sounds very nice working together . I opted for the Silver finish 120 because I think it looks good against the old tuner. Setup was simple enough with using the supplied instructions, but I recommend maybe checking out a YouTube video to double check one's work or watch as you put it together.

Awesome turntable! I can't imagine anything close to this quality that could touch this price. I paired it with the denon pma-600ne (used the phono stage in the Denon instead of the built in one) and a pair a Klipsch Heresy's. The sound produced by this trio is out of this world. The base produced is better than through Spotify streaming. Can't recommend this turntable enough.

First off, I'm no audiophile. I am getting back into listening to vinyl records, reliving my youth and, remembering the great times I had as a teen listening to the hundreds of records we had. Embarrassingly so, I have this turntable hooked up to my powered computer speakers as I am waiting on my receiver and speakers to arrive. Found a few used vinyl discs at the local music store that are in "ok" condition. It sounds awesome already! I can't wait for my other equipment to really hear the sound. Very solid unit. Set up was easy. It was a scratch/dent model and great price. Can't find the scratch or dent. Read the reviews that pointed to this model being a solid unit with the features for the price. Crutch was fast with delivery and communication. Great experience so far!

So far so good! Setting up was easy except for the counterweight on the tonearm (Audio Technica's instructions aren't perfect). Once that was propertly adjust everything sounded great! The turntable is large and heavy. The lid is nice quality. It has neat features like the pop-in light that can illuminate the stylus/cartridge. For a manual drive turntable I think its best feature is the the tonearm lifter, which allows you to both lift and gently drop the tonearm where you want. I would buy one of these again!

I am very impressed with this turntable. It was very easy to assemble, and I was happy at the ease of the P-mount and the easy adjustment of the tone arm balance, weight, and the anti-skating control. The stylus looks and sounds very good. Positioning the tonearm seems totally easy and idiot-proof. Adjusting the positioning of the legs was easy with a level. The audio quality sounds very good. So good, that I would like to hear it with better speakers. I think that the direct-drive (magnetic?) setup performs well, and the speed selection and adjustment add well to the package. The price seems very fair.

After reading the stellar reviews I figured what the heck. I was disappointed and returned mine. The platter rubbed, the cartridge needle was defective and overall it's so plastic and cheap felling. Honestly you're better off looking for something else.

I purchased this turntable after my Kenwood KD55F died. Not any stereo shops around any more, so I looked online at Crutchfield. Not being able to walk into a stereo shop and talk to knowledgeable sales people, I scheduled a phone call with a sales rep. Seth called me at the scheduled time. We talked for awhile and I decided on the LP-120XUSB. It was out of stock, but Seth let me know they had one in "scratch & dent". I have found no flaws on the turntable- just the paper with all the safety precautions [who reads those anyway ?] This turntable performs way better than my old one. I noticed the inner tracks sound just as good as the outer track.

Probably one of the best turntables I ever owned. All components are excellent quality. I am vinyl record lover and it plays my 45, 33, 78 beautifully. this is a great record player for the price, has everything I wanted from a player, but also some things I did not want. I just do not use the extra features that I feel are not needed for the home buyer.

I really was happy with the turn table but 2 problems i have with it #1 the software is very confusing i cant seem to get it to work I tried to play around with the turn table today I turned the turn table on and it keeps flashing all of the lights on the turn table keeps flashing I even UN plugged it and nothing seems to help

After 40 years of not listening to vinyl I thought I would get back into LP'S again. I was a die-hard CD for the last 30 years. After much research I decided to go with the Audio Technica LP 120xusb from Crutchfield. At this price I figured I wasn't out too much money if I wasn't happy. Both my wife and I are blown away by the difference between vinyl and CD. This Turntable is awesome at this price point and Crutchfield has lived up to their reputation for customer service. The first unit they sent me had a bad pre-amp, within a couple days I had the replacement. I'm in awe how good vinyl sounds. So if you are thinking about going vinyl, again or for the first time give this Turntable a try. I'm playing this through a Mirantz SR-6014 receiver going to a pair of Emotiva XPA HC-1. 300 Watt mono blocks into Klipsch RF-7s that has never sounded better.

First turntable I've owned since the 80s. Make sure the surface is perfectly level before attempting to balance the tone arm. Great sound. 78s (I have some) require a different cartridge. Haven't converted any vinyl to digital yet.

This is a good looking direct drive turntable that delivers strong, clear sound even though I find the stylus to be low quality. That's a definite consideration considering quality stylus cartridges begin at $250 which is what this unit cost with the Audio-Technica cartridge that sells for $35. It took a bit of adjusting and manipulation to get it to play clearly, but once that was accomplished it works fine so far.

I bought this to replace my 30 + year old Technic Turntable (motor gave out). This one came the closest to the Technic, although It was rather expensive. The two things I Do Not like about this turntable, it does not automatically turn off at the end. I usually listen to music while cleaning, with this turntable I have to stop what I'm doing and attend to it. The Technic I had shut off automatically. The other is, this one came with a felt mat that the record sits on, I just put the rubber mat from my Technic on it. Other than those two items at this time, I like it. Time will tell, we'll see if this turntable will last 30 years.

The Audio Technica LP-120XUSB came highly recommended to me. It sounds great. I haven't listened to my vinyl in years and had gravitated to the sound of CD's. It turns out I just had a rotten old turntable! This was simple to connect and I am looking forward to digitizing my old records which looks fairly straightforward with the Audacity app.

I am really pleased with it. I had some very old turntables and wanted to update and see if I could hear a difference, I could. Nice even sound very stable unit and sound that surpasses my older ones. USB port was another reason, I want to be able to transfer some vinyl.

The only thing I wish it had was automatic return. Other than that it is everything I needed. I stumbled upon my wife's old record collection along , old stuff from the 60's and 70's, she also had records from her dad classical and some 78's. This was only player I found that played everything 45's, 33.3 and 78. Set up was super easy, plug and play really. Sounds great . Forgot all the skips and pops on old records. Overall for the price and excellent value.

Outstanding turntable for the price! No other entry level turntable will give you this much for so little. If you come to think about it, a decent phono preamp and a decent phono cartridge will set you back at least $100.00. Most important, it sounds fantastic! Pair this up with any decent pair of speakers and you will be in heaven. "Music Nirvana".
Pros: Antiskate dial, direct drive motor, phono cart and phono pre included, adjustable feet, heavy counterweight.

My new Audio-Technica LP-120XUSB turntable is great! Working better than advertised! I am a radio DJ, and currently producing shows from a home studio. The availability of the USB connector makes it posiible to transfer vinyl tracks to my audio / editing software, and so far that feature works great! Having this turntable operating at peak efficiency makes it a real treat to listen to my vast vinyl collection!

I am impressed with the LP-120XUSB's good quality and reasonable price. It is compatible with my ancient rack system, but also gives me the capability to transfer old (and in some cases, nearly irreplaceable) vinyl to newer formats.

I'm sorry but you guys keep sending me an email wanted me to rate this turntable. I didn't know any other way to let you know I have not been able to use it for I have not received my albums that I ordered online. I'm supposed to get two of them Tuesday the 21st of April. I have four other albums I am waiting for from to other places. I have no idea when they'll be here. Coronavirus is infecting everything including shipping and handling!
Pros: Very very easy to set up and balance tonearm. I bought a tiny tonearm weight scale. I think I paid $11 for it. It seems to be luck of the draw on whether or not the cheap little scale you buy will work or not. I got lucky and mine worked. That being said I still have not been able to play a record yet because I have not received them in the mail yet. I love the look and the ease of this turntable.
Cons: I have none. I forgot something. The platter does have a slight dip as it turns. I'm going to call and see if this is normal.

Very flexible turntable for the money

This turntable was not the one I thought I wanted. However, it was highly reviewed and very reasonable in cost. I am very happy with this product. It was easy to setup, use and provides a very clean sound. I listen to CD more than vinyl at this point, but plan to expand that collection soon. Unit lived up to its press and I have had fun with it so far

One of the best Turntables I ever owned. Direct Drive is the way to go no more belts . I made several CDs ?? using the Technology included and they were easy to use and worked just fine . I used the red and white cable that went to a single output and hooked it to my Bose Sound Dock . The quality of sound was excellent ! If you have albums you love buy a decent Turntable and enjoy them . I couldn't be happier ! Thanks !

Very Nice for the price point

I have owned turn tables basicly all of my life. It started along time ago with the close and play record player when I was very young. As every one knows vinyl went by the way side and now has come back with a vengence. So I purchased a new turntable. I didn't want to go into debt buying one, so I opted for this model. The people at Crutchfield were very helpfull in my decision thanks to Sonny. The unit was very easy to set up and the sound quality is excellent based on the price point. Great unit for the price many features, maybe in the future I will upgrade the stylus but for now I'm having fun with my old vinyl records that bring back fond memories of what rock and roll and the blues realy ment.

This is a heavy turntable! Feels robust and exceptionally well made. The pre-mounted cartridge and head shell assembly installed quickly. Audio Technica also has an excellent YouTube instructional video which is additionally helpful. Cue lever is well damped. Be aware this is a manual turntable without auto return of arm after playing. Helps keep you in touch with your vinyl! Very happy with my purchase.

I'm quite pleased with this turntable. Setup was easy. Downloading the Audacity software proved to be an ordeal in that it came with a virus. Be careful and you should be able to avoid it. Fortunately, Malwarebytes took care of it.

A solid DJ turntable that has no noticeable rumble or flutter. It spins up quick and has some nice features for syncing tracks. Pretty solid cartridge but I might upgrade it for critical listening. All that being said, I might look at one of the full auto turntables for home use. Getting up to stop the turntable at the end of the album gets old.

Nice unit. Paired it with a Yamaha Rx880 and my older Aperion Audio Intimus 5.1 It really sounds nice. I did believe that it was a fully automatic turntable. It is not. But the quality build, the simplicity in the manual play, and great sound, have me sold. I'd buy this unit again , and do recommend it. I bought this as a gift for my spouse. I get to enjoy their present as much or more than they do. One thing we found, remove the computer cord from the line out if you're going to use the speaker vs recording it to your computer. With both in only one side of speakers received signal. We removed the computer cable, and L and R speaker sound was restored . Maybe this is common, but I was unaware.
Pros: Great Sound, simplicity, quality, quiet drive (no drive noise in playback), great bang for the buck
Cons: Can not have line to computer in while playing. It's one or the other. Otherwise sound is split , L channel to one output, R to the other output. I'd prefer to leave the line in, and have that option of just plugging it into my laptop.

I have been very pleased with my purchase of the AT LP-120XUSB. I am now able to enjoy the playback of my 40+ year old LPs, plus some of my parent's LPs which are well over 60 years old. My only issue is when I listen at a volume level of 80-90%, there is feedback resulting in a loud bass overload through my speakers. I also purchased IsoAcoustics OREA Bronze, but their improvement impact seems minimal. I feel their purchase was a wasted $200+.
Pros: Price and performance with USB capability.

Everything I expected! Classic design and functionality. Easy to hook up and install. Grew up back in the 80's with turntables and this product just brought my record collection from being silent and dormant for 34 years. Exceptional buy and must have gear if you have any record collection. Sound quality was very good right off the bat. Just listening to the "popcorn" sound took me back in time to my teen years. I will definitely be hunting for garage sales and flea markets on weekends in search for some old school jewels!

This turntable is better than what I had imagined and I was expecting great things. I bought this for my teenage son for Christmas. He has never had the experience of hearing an album on a turntable. After easy set-up, he wanted to hear something off of St. Peppers. The look on his face and his wide eyes when the needle dropped and the music played. He had never experienced such a dynamic range in music before. Being a boomer, I have listened to albums as long as I can remember, but unfortunately haven't used one in over a decade. Why? I will never go back to digital or streamed music unless necessary.

Excellent turntable! You can hookup with USB, integrated phono preamp or into your receiver/preamp phono stage. The direct drive platter is lightning fast, will play 78rpm records along with the regular 33 and 45s. It has a light for low light operation and has Multiple options for pitch control. Excellent sound and accurate playback.

Tough as a Battleship

This turntable is as tough as a battleship, and and as stable as a boulder, with great, warm sound. My only complaint is that I cannot add an after-market auto-stop to the tonearm (at least I haven't found one yet that will fit). So, simply because of that, I will probably upgrade down the line to a semi-automatic turntable, for more bucks. Crutchfield's service and shipping was first rate, as always.
Pros: First rate sound reproduction for the price. Stable, and bulletproof.
Cons: No after-market auto-stop adaptor will fit it.

Very good turntable for the price! I am somewhat of a novice with turntables - still have a lot to learn - but so far I really like this one. The direct drive is great - it starts and stops very quickly. It was very easy to set up - 10 minutes and I was good to go. The only thing I don't like is there is no lever to lift and lower needle.

Great affordable option for me. I need 78rpm. I think it'd be hard to find a better unit under $350 and probably impossible to find one that plays 78rpm. I'm not using any pre-amp or usb options so I can't comment on those. Sounds great and the tracking light is helpful. It's got a cool look, maybe too high tech looking for my old system, but it sounds great.

For the money I paid for this turntable it is has incredible sound. I didn't think I would like the fully manual part of it; but it hasn't bothered me so far. I bought some new records and they really do sound better than digital music. They are just harder to find.

Digitizing & Hypnotizing

I purchased this as a second player in my home. I grabbed it because it had a stop/start and the price was fair. Blown away. Out the box the motor is spinning perfectly. I swapped the cart out for a Ortofon Pro S and replaced the felt slipmat with a cork mat. This stepped it up in terms of how I need it. I am digitizing non stop and have been very surprised with the performance and ease of use. The steel wheel was a nice bonus. If you are starting out and want a direct drive with a phono preamp this is a quality machine for entry. It fits all the reasons of my use but the sound and quality were an extra bonus.
Pros: Quality parts. Clean look. Excellent plug and play with USB and phono preamp. Steady & quiet motor with excellent response.
Cons: Slip mat was basic and warped. Incl cart and styli are pretty basic but price justifies that.

I've been using older turntables that needed some work when I got them and was ready for something new. I read the reviews and took the plunge. First thing it's a solid feeling heavy turntable. Easy to set up the counterweight. Be careful with the packaging as some critical parts to the turntable are inside of the styrofoam. One of those parts being the LED light that shines on the surface of the record. It really helps you position the tone arm over a specific track. Sounds greats.

Cons: It's not fully automatic but getting up to move the needle isn't so bad.

Found all our old LPs boxed up under the pool table when we sold it. So, we got back into music on vinyl, but my 40-year old BIC table was frozen up, and it would cost more to fix than it was worth. Did a lot of research, and this Audio-Technica LP-120XUSB fit the bill. It is great, and it is so cool to now be able to listen to all our old LPs again.

I've been using my Technics SL 1300 that I bought in 1975 which has finally stopped working. It's fully automatic. Trying to get used to tending my new fully manual LP-120XUBS. Does Audio Technica make a fully automatic table with a S toe arm and direct drive motor. If not, I'll stick with this one. It has the features I want and it looks and plays great, just have to get used to the manual part of it.
Pros: Overall great turntable
Cons: Not automatic, felt mat

Wow , this thing is HAS to be the easiest plug and play ever . The power cable end is a bit more pieces than it should be but this a hyper technical complaint. The sound , using and ease of this product is PHENOMENAL !! You'll love it , no complaints what so ever. LOVE IT !! to
Pros: The light is a serious help in getting the cartridge is the right spot. My location is VERY dark and with this I'd have to keep a flashlight near but not worries, they thought it through.

Turntable set-up

Very nice turntable, easy to assemble but a little challenging in balancing the arm, but that's not to be taken as a negative for the unit, but rather the knowledge of finding out how to do it. A YouTube video helped a little. But the best about the sale from Crutchfield is their tech support, which is excellent. Very patient and knowledgeable technicians. I realize that it is not a high-end table, but it is more than sufficient for the casual user.
Pros: For the price an excellent turntable, fast delivery, and excellent tech service.
Cons: Maybe more thorough directions on how to balance the arm. To the novice there was not much there. For example, in balancing the arm the weight has two parts, but built as one piece. There is nothing that states that the front part of the weight must be turned separately from the actual weight. I turned the knob as an all in one piece and then it became stuck. I had to call and the technician explained that to me.

Very nice mid grade turntable!

I decided to get back into vinyl after a 12 year absence. Back in the 80's I had a great direct drive Technics turntable. Then I listened to all the audiophiles and decided to "upgrade" to a belt drive Dual in the early 90's. Sure it looked great, but honestly didn't sound any better to my ears. In fact I soon grew tired of it's inability to maintain speed, something that was easily adjustable on my Technics. When I decided to get back into vinyl, I knew I didn't want to spend $500+ and I knew that I didn't want a cheap plastic $100 turntable either. There are quite a few nice looking choices in the $2-300 range so that's where my research began and what ultimately lead me to this new turntable. I read too many reviews of speed issues with the belt drive models on every brand and decided I wanted to go with a direct drive with pitch adjustment like my old Technics. I upgraded the felt mat with a rubber one, but other than that I'm leaving it stock and after the easy initial setup, I'm glad to report that it sounds great! A couple things I want to note for people that isn't apparent in the photos or description. In the photos the unit look dark grey, it is in fact black. Also the plinth is metal, not plastic. This thing has some good weight to it. Feels pretty solid. Overall, I'm very pleased.

Cons: Big (barely fit in my cabinet)
