Great for a replacement
Edward from Manchester, MD on 10/1/2023
I was looking for some decent speakers to replace the blown speakers in my 2018 Ford F150. I didn't want a full blown system and picked these speakers because they seemed to fit the bill. Some reviews said an amp was needed but I am pleased with the performance all around.
Pros: Sounds way better than factory without the need for an amp and additional wiring.
Cons: Not exactly plug and play but pretty close

Very, very nice. Replaced the OEM door speakers as they were getting a bit tired. These brightened things up extremely well. Running on stock head unit but even with just swapping these out the sound was increased quite a bit.
Pros: Sound extremely nice, built very, very well.
Cons: They are quite heavy if you are concerned with adding weight to your vehicle (Most folks who are upgrading car audio probably aren't but figured I would mention it)

Jacob from WHITE OAK, TX on 6/20/2023
2015 Ram 1500
The overall clarity of the speaker is better than stock. Which should be expected from any aftermarket speaker. I was told the bass from these speakers is better than the stocks... after 3 weeks I assume it is safe to say it is not. Granted I am running it off my head unit so they may not have the power needed, but the stocks have the same amount of bass if not more than these speakers. I also replaced the tweeters for the 3 1/2 speakers and that alone made a HUGE difference in a positive way. If I didn't throw away the stock speakers, I would be putting them back in and returning these.
Pros: Clarity
Cons: Bass is not there

Danny's 2016 F150 "Reference" Install
Daniel from Warner Robins, GA on 6/18/2023
2016 Ford F-150 XLT
Ive checked out reviews of different brand interior speakers for my 2016 F150 for a few years. I wanted something that would work well with the factory head unit, and these Infinity's were EXACTLY what i was looking for. Mid's and High's were perfect even on stock power. I even got more volume, and was not expecting that with factory power. Glad I chose these Reference speakers. 5/5! If you own a 2015-2020 f150 and just want more clarity and better sound WITHOUT adding an amp, then these are for you!!
Pros: Better sound without adding amp to factory head unit. Speakers can handle an amp if added later on. Great build quality. Angled tweeter, and "tweeter DB Boost" add versatility.
Cons: None. Exactly what I was looking for.

I installed these Infinity Reference 6x9" speakers in the front doors of my 2023 Subaru Crosstrek Limited (non-HK equipped) along with the matching Infinity Reference 3.5" speakers in the dash and 6.5" speakers in the rear doors. Even without adding an aftermarket amplifier, the sound quality has been transformed. Not only is the clarity and richness vastly improved, but now there is actual bass that you can feel and see in the mirrors. The installation instructions for removing the door panels were spot on, and the perfect speaker and plug adapters ensured the process was totally simple. Excellent upgrade!

You must change out your factory speakers
Elwin from Braintree, MA on 4/25/2023
The mid grade sound system in the 2022 wrx was better sounding than the base unit . But was still lacking compared to the harmon kardon system . With these infinity speakers the sound is so much better. Would recommend these to everyone who owns a base model or mid grade system . Change out your factory speakers !!!!!!! You will enjoy the new sound and hear what you have been missing. Plus you just saved $2k but not buying the HK sound system from the dealer and only spent a fraction to upgrade you poor sounding factory speakers
Pros: Front speakers fit great and sound so much better than the factory speakers.the original speakers made the 11inch radio sound like crap. Changed out all speakers and wow it sounds sweet .
Cons: Did not come with door panel instructions. But that was ok because I have removed many door panels before. The front speaker mount fit perfectly on the right side door but the left mount had to be trimmed. Shaved off some plastic to clear the window regulator bolts.

It helped with overall volume with stock front speakers. Really easy to install with included bracket and harness adapter provided from Crutchfield.
Pros: Perfect fit with bracket and harness. Great sound from OE radio power.

Everything needed to replace factory sound
Rusty from Georgetown, TX on 4/6/2023
2014 Chevrolet Silverado 1500
I purchased the entire package: 6X9s for the front & 6 1/2 for the back on my 2014 Silverado. What sold me was Crutchfield also provided the speaker adapters to fit the doors and the wiring harnesses to connect to the factory wiring. Everything needed to make this a fairly easy process (2 hrs for everything). It's a definite improvement over the factory speakers - I'm sure it's not "great" by an audiophile's definition, but perfectly fit my needs and budget. The Crutchfield advisor (Lori) help with suggested speakers and made the purchase process easy.
Pros: All-in-one purchase (speakers, adapters, wiring harnesses) Knowledgable advisor Wasn't oversold on "Bigger is better" Reasonably priced quality sound Fast delivery
Cons: Not overpowering sound (In fairness I'm using the stock receiver to drive the speakers)

I purchased as direct replacement speakers for my 2018 Ford F150 Supercrew Cab - both front and rear doors - and using the OEM Stereo. Sound quality is definitely better - but the bass is a bit lacking. I would suggest that these speakers would be better paired with an upgrade that included an amplifier. Looking to do so in the near future.
Pros: Crystal clear high notes, and substantial mid-range. Needs Amplifier to get full benefit of bass
Cons: Needs an amplifier to get the best bass

I am not happy with these speakers. I got them to replace my Highlander 2023 XLE (non JBL) stock front speakers and they do not sound better than the stock speakers. The bass on the OEM is deeper and it sounds slightly better. I suppose that if you connect these speakers to an external amp they can handle more power and sound louder (maybe better?) but I was hoping that they would sound better than the OEM without having to install anything extra. That was not the case. I am considering returning them since they are surprisingly not an upgrade. I also got the 3.5in Infinity reference speakers to replace the dash OEM speakers and that was a success. The 3.5in Infinity speakers sound considerably better than the stock/OEM. Sadly that was not the case with the 6X9

Surprised how low these go for a 6x9, powered by an Alpine KTA-450 amp. Plenty of volume for me without distortion. Installation was simple with the Crutchfield supplied wiring and brackets. My goal was better sound sound quality then the factory speakers. The lows are deeper and not muffled like the factory speakers. The highs are crisp and clear without having a tinny sound. If you want a solid upgrade these are great. I like being able to adjust the cut off for the highs. One very small downside is the screws are too long. KH from Houston, TX on 12/6/2022
2018 Toyota Tacoma
These were a great addition to my 2018 Tacoma, especially with the BFCM sale. The brackets and harness adapters included made the install insanely easy. The only complication was the screws included with the speakers were too long to allow the speakers/brackets to fit in the door and the brackets did not come with any screws. This was easily fixed by screws I had laying around the garage. Even without an aftermarket hu or amp/sub, these speakers are a very nice upgrade from stock.
Pros: Great sound over stock. Easy install.

Tight bass, natural tones, high clarity, no muddiness, excellent well rounded value. These are a huge upgrade for anyone wanting to retain the factory head unit and not have to deal with wiring in amps. Simple. Only draw back are the machine screws these come with... way too long! This product was installed in front door of of my 2019 silverado double cab, non bose , with 8 inch screen radio. These speakers sound great, the mounting brackets supplied by Crutchfield are a little loose fitting so I highly recommend some sound deadening material around the mounting holes to prevent vibration. The speaker wire harness adapter was perfect as well. There is still a slight vibration rattle with higher bass songs but it is due to the factory grill in door being air flow restrictive. Also a tip for same vehicles, adjust your fade a couple of clicks towards rear speakers , adjust base to 5, mid to 5 and treble to 0. I do have the buttons on speakers pushed in for the +3 DB.
Pros: Great speaker upgrade Fast delivery Easy installation with supplied
Cons: Speaker mounting screws to bracket are poor Mounting brackets need sound deadening or foam strip where it contacts door.

Pure garbage , no bass untill theres so much bass it makes a plopping , rasbeery sound , honetly polypropylene speakers sound like this but i thought id give them a try , small magnet , terrible bass sounds flappy, my vehicle uses 6x9 as subs channel with 50 rms so these cant compare to bose replacement for same cost. Total junk stay away unless you like to punish yourself or throw away money.
Pros: Got to stimulate the economy
Cons: Waste of time. Waste of money, sounds terrible , factory is better for less cost , tiny magnet , connectors are flimsy too , they should of saved the money from the grills and added to the shoot quality of the speaker. 100 percent not worth your time. Hit up the parts store or junk yard before buying these. Cat in a bag in a 55 gallon drum rolling down the street. SKIP

Good speakers, with one minor issue
David from WALLINGFORD, CT on 1/1/2022
2003 Buick LeSabre
The speakers seem tonally balanced. Ample bass, articulate minds, and smooth high frequency. Bang for buck, they are a well made, good performing speaker that come with plenty of hardware to get the job done. My only complaint is that they should have made the mounting holes slightly oval (like most other manufacturers do) so they align with various mounting screws/holes better. Even some of Infinity's other models in this same series has this feature (so did the factory speakers that these replaced), but not these. The mounting holes are just round enough for the screw and if it doesn't align perfectly with your vehicle, you will end up filing out the hole. Care should be taken not to let the metal shavings from filing to get on, in or around the structure of the speaker. All this could be easily avoided with a mild oval to the mounting hole. Whoever designed this speaker obviously never installed one.
Pros: Good sound Good build quality Many accessories included
Cons: Mounting holes should have a mild oval to assist with installation

Speakers have clear, full sound. An enormous upgrade from stock. Crutchfield made me aware of the extra parts required for complete installation. There was no charge for these parts which is amazing.
Pros: Easy installation thanks to Crutchfields help. Nice speakers with rich sound
Cons: At higher volume the speakers will cut out as the stock deck does not have enough power to push them. A more powerful head unit or amp is necessary

Exceptionally
Crutchfield customer from Elizabethtown, KY on 12/24/2021
As usual, infinity designed these speakers perfectly. There is even a push button hidden in the tweeter that allows a little more or a little less highs based on your listening preferences. The compact height allowed for a shallow install location, the hard hitting and accurate sound reproduction without sounding sloppy or tinny was the perfect upgrade to my ride. I am running it off a kenwood receiver but I think I'm going to add an amp because the sound is so rich that I feel like I'm cheating myself by not being able to play it any louder. Highly recommend!

Installed in 2021 Chevy Custom Trailboss. Haven't had them in long enough for the speakers to be broken in yet, but already a huge improvement over the oem speakers. I can tell they're going to need a small amp to make them truly perform to their full potential. A powered sub and amp for the door speakers is next. As usual Crutchfield shipping was very fast and had the best prices.

These speakers pair well with my Infinity Reference 6 1/2, Reference tweeters & Audison Prima 10" sub. They're loud, but do lack some thump. I've started to hear some rattling from the right speaker, but I'm hoping it's maybe the spacers & not the speaker itself.

Little problems popped up causing delays during installation which I would have loved to do without.
Pros: Great natural sound, good pleasant clean bass and cabin filling sound without straining with just the head unit.
Cons: Screw package didn't work because some screws were missing. I had the correct quantity of long screws but not enough short screws. The manufacturers instructions took all of 7 seconds to read despite the 2' X 3' folded sheet included because 99.8% were foreign languages. Lastly my problem was the small push on terminal pins wouldn't fit (one at a time of course) through the inlet hole provided on the adapter plate. I had to file the hole/slot so I could feed them through and attach them.

2016 Dodge Charger
2016 Charger w Alpine System Phenomenal sound quality!! Crisp highs and crystal clear vocals. I had to set my treble and mid levels lower than the bass, which is solid and smooth as well btw. The lows are so punchy that they're causing the deck panel to vibrate. I'm adding weatherstripping after I submit this review to remedy that. I'll eventually run them through a 4 or 5 channel amp for good measure but for now I'm impressed with the sound over stock. I gave 4 stars bc the speaker mounting holes didn't line up with the stock location. It made installation on the rear deck a serious pain. The Chargers have a sloping roofline which wouldn't have caused too too much of a hassle if the bolt holes matched up. But I got em in there! Just something to consider. Would most def buy again??

Best inexpensive audio upgrade for your Ram 1500 with base 6 speaker s
Crutchfield customer from Sterling Hts, MI on 6/10/2021
2020 Ram 1500
I purchased these to replace the crappy muddy sounding speakers in my 2020 Ram 1500 crew cab. Now, mine has the 8.4" touch screen with the base 6 speaker system without ANC. (Active Noise Cancellation). Now that we are on that topic, Crutchfield is wrong about the ohm rating on the stock speakers. All mine in the doors of my truck were 4 ohm NOT 2 ohm. Crutchfield needs to update their database. So please take note. I installed these in all 4 doors. The audio quality improvement was night and day difference. The sound clarity, bass response, mids, and highs are all way better then before. When playing a bass track it sounds like I have a small sub in there! Another thing I noticed is that they actually play louder than the stock speakers as well, and this is off just the stock head unit. I didn't replace the dash speakers due to their being 8 ohm and they really don't do a lot for sound up there. So if your looking to just replace your stock speakers in your Ram 1500, these are what you want. No need to look any further! Very happy with my purchase.
Pros: Way better sound than stock speakers.

Dramatic Improvement over stock

2021 GMC Sierra 1500
I have these in the front doors of my 2021 sierra 1500 matched with the Infinity 6532ex in the rear doors. I left the stock tweeter in the dash, the only down side to that is the front overpowers the rears a bit so you have to give the fader a rear bias. The stock radio sounds great with this set up even phone calls sound better, a power amp would help but for the cost and effort I am very happy. It is really amazing that GMC put the crappy speakers these replaced in a truck that is quite expensive.
Pros: balance throughout the frequency spectrum Clean mids and high end The muddy bass of the stock system is gone
Cons: The amount of foam padding should be doubled or some kind of self setting silicon gasket should be provided.

Crutchfield customer from Phoenix, AZ on 3/23/2021

Like every pair of aftermarket speakers I've ever installed into a vehicle, you loose low frequency response, which for me completely changes the listening experience. Mid bass is excellent and punchy; they can get significantly louder on the oem head unit. I will be amplifying them to avoid clipping and adding a subwoofer. They DO fit in Ram pickup trucks, using the supplied ring adapter and screws for the front doors. Be careful with the screws they strip easily. I used a slightly oversized Phillips head bit on an impact driver at low speed, did the job! Happy listening!
Pros: Everything else
Cons: Loose bass response

Amazing sound difference over stock Alpine system in my 2018 Ram 1500. I chose these for there low resistance and high sensitivity rating. These will give crisp, clean sound with no loss in volume while running a factory head unit. The 3 ohm resistance is much lower than most competing speakers. This allows you to retain volume levels when running off a factory head unit spec'ed for 2 ohm factory speakers. I've ran Infinity's in all of my vehicles for decades now. Never been disappoint so I guess you could say brand loyalty was also a factory in my decision over competing systems.

Pros: Good base if you run them through low pass!
Cons: Don't sound that great full range! Tweeters are a bit over bearing!

Great Sound
Crutchfield customer from Gainesville, VA on 10/23/2020
These speakers sound so much better than the stock speakers that came in my 2020 Subaru Forester Sport. I found them easy to install after watching a video online. They are plug and play with the harness you purchase from Crutchfield.
Pros: Sound improvement.
Cons: None.

Awesome speakers!

I had them installed first with the supplied metra adapters, but they were out-of-phase. Once wired correctly, they are loud, clear, and give off great bass. Before the install, I was debating about getting a 4 channel amp, but there is no need as my ears are already ringing. Blows the stock 6x9s out of the water!
Pros: Crystal clear, loud, great bass, much better than base speakers
Cons: Metra adapter didn't work.

The speakers are built very well. I run a subwoofer for my bass the speakers have crisp clear sound as my primary music is rock and roll some metal. I have always really liked infinity products thanks Crutchfield

Amp these up and hear the bass
Crutchfield customer from Sun Prairie, WI on 9/2/2020
2015 Toyota Corolla
I installed these in my 2012 Chevy Cruze with fast rings and kill mat. I'm running them off a 4 channel infinity reference 4 channel amp and stock "premium" radio. (Pioneer package). I replaced my factory "subs" with these and bypassed the factory low pass filter to run them at full range. What a difference these made. I now have full sounds in the back and the bass on these things is amazing. Way better than the factory "subs". I'm not even buying a sub for my car now. Mids and highs are great too.
Pros: Great bass response
Cons: Can't access the button on the tweeter after you install them.

great sound and fits under factory speaker grill
Pros: great sound
Cons: holes did not line up with factor ones, small modification to install. if speakers had oval slots like the factory ones, modifications might not be an issue

Failed after 10 months.

Unfortunately these speakers failed after 10 months in a vehicle that's barely used. ( Nice weather only) Crutchfield is great about warranty replacing them for me but they're on a back-order that keeps getting longer and longer.
Pros: They sound terrific
Cons: They didn't last

Love them

Great speakers for factor 3rd gen Tacoma. I was considering adding an amp (I'm sure it would make these things really shine) for most people it most likely isn't necessary. I've tried a few different speakers and these by far are my favorite drop ins. Bass isn't comparable to a sub but it isn't lacking, mids are strong and highs aren't crystal clear but sufficient. I would suggest messing with your EQ to your liking based on your preferences. Keep in mind, this is a 2 way and not a component system. Overall, worth the money
Pros: Great sound, great quality, easy to install. Though they are behind factory door panels-they look great, upward facing tweeter adds a nice touch
