These really have nice crisp sound. I have a very sound absorbing room that I chose these for, I had tried Polk but they just sounded too dull. Not the speakers fault, just the room. These Klipsch speakers produce crisp vocals and have really nice bass for bookshelves. A big thanks to Conrad for help on choosing these. Very happy with purchase and service.

Klipsch Moves & Grooves

Verified employee review (What's this?)

I know that I gave a review on these speakers just a while ago, but I come to and gathered more knowledge on them than what I previously submitted. As I have read and heard from other notable reviewers such as Erin (Erin's Audio Corner), Andrew Robinson and some others on YouTube, even when they review most other noteworthy bookshelf speakers either highly priced or moderately priced, they can't seem to leave out the Reference Premiere RP-600 M II as a comparison. Whether or not the other speaker slightly edges out the RP-600 M II, it is always somewhere in the picture. Speakers like the ELAC Debut 3.0 DB63, Debut Reference DBR62, the MartinLogan Motion Foundation B2, MartinLogan Motion XT B100 or even the B&W or Wharfedales which some have high-end hefty prices, the Klipsch is usually mentioned in comparison to performance at half the price or less. This speaks volumes when a speaker is so close in sound comparison to other models being reviewed either high-end or moderate priced. Even Crutchfield's new Sound profile explanation shows the Klipsch up there with better choices. You don't have to take my word for it but at least read and check out reviews and see for yourself, that these speakers are more than worth the accolades they've been getting. I doubt very much that those that have heard and tested them would mention them with such high praise if they weren't.

Pros: They stand out on their own as far as sound, quality and to those that seem to know. Excellent highs and lows. High-end quality at a moderate price for a pair.

Cons: Those who believe 1 and 2 star reviewers who don't know squat.

Replaced older Bose speakers. Should have done it sooner. Low volume is great sounding. Shoving 100 with a Carver amp and it rocks big from smaller speakers. Thrilled.

Pros: Mid priced speakers delivering big time performance.

Klipsch Wins the Battle

Lamont from BROOKLYN, NY on 4/13/2025

Verified employee review (What's this?)

To all those out there who know of the Klipsch speakers war vs. Polk, especially the Polk Reserve R200, there is a winner. I have both speakers and have recently tried , tested and auditioned them both with the music genres that I like including R&B/Soul, Rock, Alternative and even jazz, the Klipsch Reference Premier RP-600 M II 's have made a believer out of me. I know how some people or reviewers call them bright or causing listening fatigue, it's simply a matter of opinion. When comparing the Polk's to these, the Polk's are good but they tend to have a lackluster sound that doesn't get you into the music. They are a neutral speaker which can become fatigued as well. The Reference Premier RP-600 M II 's come out smoking from the start. Not to mention, the Polk's are power hungry and you seem to only get whatever their best is at a higher volume. The ring pinnacle tweeter to me, doesn't nearly come close to hearing all that a recording has like the Klipsch. Sometimes warm is just not enough depending on what you like to listen to. But if you are interested in the music genres that I'm into, you will definitely like these Klipsch Reference Premier RP-600 M II speakers. Don't worry about the reviewers and people that say they're harsh. Worry about how much more time you'll enjoy your music sounding like it's meant to sound. YOU WILL NOT BE DISAPPOINTED. Thanks for letting me share MY thoughts and now letting people know the real deal on these two speakers.

Pros: Decent sound qualities. High sensitivity level but even if they didn't have that, they sound superior. Excellent design, quality all around.

Cons: People who judge these based on reviewers instead of judging for yourself. It's what your ears hear, not theirs. Other than that, I have no cons to report.

They sound amazing. I also have a pair of the RP-160M. Even though I can't hear quite as well as I used to(I'm 71), I can tell these are a little clearer sounding, ever so slightly. I don't know why people pay thousands of dollars for speakers when they could have these for a lot less. I have them connected to a Harmon Kardon HK 3770. However, the grills seem to be a little less sturdy then the ones on the 160's. I didn't want to say cheaper, but...

Pros: Quality of sound

Cons: Quality of grills

The speaker looks great and made very well ! The cork pad at the bottom is amazing! The sound : it has very substantial clean balanced bass , and I do have subwoofer, but speakers itself does very well for this size . The vocal sounds quality, bright , almost like separate driver . The treble sounds balanced, not too much or too little, depending what music is playing. I'm don't listen laud , rather normal . But they can kick pretty loud ! So far I'm satisfied with this speakers , including quality, performance , look and price! I would recommend this speaker .

Pros: Great quality sounds from this size of speakers!

Phenomenal speakers (I'm just a regular guy)

JAMEEL from Cedar Rapids, IA on 11/11/2024

Verified employee review (What's this?)

I'm a 50 year old guy that grew up listening to my dad's B&O setup. My previous pair of speakers has been a pair of Boston Acoustics A40s' that I've had for too long to admit (90's). I also just bought a pair of vintage Klipschorns that I had to sell to my brother for lack of space, so I was a little jaded going into this purchase as I felt like anything would be a downgrade. Said brother recommended these, so I picked up a pair. Holy smokes. I am a musician (but not an audiophile by any means) so I like to think I have a decent ear. These speakers are phenomenal! I don't miss the Klipschorns at all (less the cool factor of those huge walnut cabinets.) The RP-600M's have such a clean warm sound, I can crank them up without distortion or any harshness at all. The bass is just incredible for the size of speaker. I won't be adding a sub anytime soon. They also look awesome. I paired them with KS-24 stands which are excellent with them. One little quibble. I was hoping to find mounting holes on the speakers instead of the cork. I feel like these couple topple off the stands (which have mounting holes) if bumped firmly. I am VERY VERY happy with this purchase.

Pros: Phenomenal sound. HUGE bass for their size. Clean and warm even when cranked.

Cons: Be nice to have mounting holes that pair up with the KS-24 stands.

Clear, Crisp and LOUD

Geoff from EAST HAMPTON, CT on 11/10/2024

Verified employee review (What's this?)

First, I'm a moviephile, not an audiophile (but I'm learning). I'm currently upgrading from a 2012, 5.1 to a 7.2.2 (Stereo Subs from bluetooth output on new AVR). The 600M IIs are replacing my old 1990s vintage, Accoustic Research 308HO "bookshelves" as rear surrounds (the 308s are still good speakers and are being promoted to small Front L/Rs in my Desktop PC surround system). The 600M IIs are very different from the 308HOs, much better high frequency response and clarity, and I found if I EQed the bass higher and the treble lower they became a closer match to what I was used to with the 308s (in addition to a driven woofer and tweeter the 308s have an 8" passive woofer - so they're more bass biased). The 600MIIs; however, are more versatile, use them for Rears, Surrounds, Height, or even use a pair as Center Speakers, (there was little difference in a side-by-side comparison with my 504C II center speaker - using my old Yamaha AVR 80watts/channel - 2 channels driven). A little bit better bass on the 600M IIs but better efficiency on the 504c II - Note that at +10db on the AVR they both "Shook the House, were Breaking Windows and sending my cat & dog running for a quieter room" - so "loudness" is definitely not in question! (I can't imagine the db level if I could pump the max rated watts into them - I think they would probably move the house off its' foundation!). Highly recommended by a relative Newbie, whose main concern is Immersive and Loud SoundFX in a Movie.

Pros: See review.

Cons: Uhmmm.... NONE!

Compared to the RP-600Ms

Robert from Porter Ranch, CA on 10/21/2024

Verified customer (What's this?)
Verified employee review (What's this?)

I compared these speakers directly to the RP-600M and the differences I noticed were the old ones have a bit more detail and with that more high pitched sounds from the tweeter. They were also lacking a bit in the mid range. The old ones were fatiguing listening to them for more than 20 minutes. These RP-600M IIs have toned down those high pitched sounds from the tweeter but lost a tiny bit of detail from the highs but the mids are more present and im definitely ok with that. Don't get me wrong it's still detailed and lively but without the ear piercing. The RP-600Ms also sounded like they had a light blanket over them and these new ones sound clearer. I didn't pay attention to the lows/bass because i have a subwoofer but all in all these RP-600M IIs are a step up from the old ones. I especially appreciated the new binding posts that are made of metal and accommodate larger gauge wires and because they're not sunk in at a weird angle they are lined next to each other it's easier to wire if you're not using banana plugs. New ones also have a cork material on the bottom making them less slippery and softer to place on furniture. Overall for the price i got it for they are absolutely magnificent speakers. Keep up the good improvements klipsch!

Pros: - Lively without piercing your ear - Pronounced vocals and mids - Cleaner sound than RP-600Ms - Better binding posts - Esthetics are pleasing

Cons: - Lost a tiny bit of detail from previous model

Outstanding Bookshelf

Verified employee review (What's this?)

In my system (solid state preamp, 20 WPC Class-A amp) and listening space (untreated, uncarpeted, 12'x30'), I am pleased beyond expectations with this speaker (note: my other speakers are Tekton Lores & Omega Super Alnico Monitors). The RP600M-II is an outstanding performer and has no problem filling my listening space with rich beautiful sound! Their bass is surprising - I actually do not turn on my subwoofer when I am using them. They produce tight & authoritative bass I have measured down to 42 Hz, and even down to 38 Hz although at a 4-5 db drop. All frequencies from bass to treble sound balanced. The treble is refined showing no harsh or hard edges, and no sibilance for my ears (Klipsch seems to have tamed their horn). I would characterized them as transparent (not veiled), dynamic, full bodied, rich sounding, and slightly warm in character. I discovered that their grills veil the treble slightly, which impacts the sound stage. Removing the grills restores treble details, widening and deepening the sound stage, enhancing instrument separation and positioning to the point of rendering a fully holographic presentation. I find them best in my space when placed 10' apart, 1' from side walls, 4'+ from any back wall, focused 1-2' in front of the listening position My listening position is 19' distant to cover my dining and living space. Experimenting with speaker height, distances from side & back walls, & toe-in focus or toe-out reflection is a must to find their sweet spot.

Pros: Excellent Bass, Balanced Sound, No Harsh Treble, Dynamic, Full Bodied, Slightly Warm.

Cons: Their warmish character may not match well with warm tube amps.

I have the original RP-600M speakers and have enjoyed them immensely for the last year or so. After reading and watching a lot of revives, I decided to pick up a pair of the IIs. They have become my new favorite speakers. The base is more defined and realistic, and the highes are more crisp as well. Beautiful midrange as well. I highly recommend them for a set of really musical speakers. Maybe not the most accurate speaker you can buy, they may be the most fun to listen to. I was considering the Polk ES-20 because I wasn't sure about the notorious harshness of the Klipsch horn tweeter, but Tim convinced me to try the 600s. Glad I did. Klipsch has tamed the tweeter. Highs are crisp without being fatiguing, mids are nuanced, and the bass is pleasantly full and tight. Soundstage is wide and detailed, but not 3D deep. I found that placement is critical. For me, 14" from the wall, 11 feet between speakers with about a 25 degree toe-in toward my primary listening position 14 feet away. Also, "break in" is a real thing. I've got about 80 hours on them now and they have really come alive. Good sound needs to marinate before its fully ready. I listen primarily to classic rock and big band jazz. Maynard Ferguson, Buddy Rich, Pink Floyd, and the Eagles all shine in this system. And Mark Knopfler is THE Man. My source is either vinyl (with my Audio Technica AT-LP60XBT-USB from Crutchfield) or Tidal streaming via a WiiM Pro. Driving the speakers with two channels of a Denon AVR with 70 wpc. I'll get a proper 2 channel integrated amp when my budget allows. I expect the sound will only improve with the right amp. Please note, these are BIG "bookshelf" speakers! I don't think they would fit on most bookshelves and they definitely need to have space behind them. I built my own speaker stands. They have an industrial look, but necessary since the speakers weigh 18# each. In short, I am pleasantly surprised. Really enjoyin

Pros: Robust sound from a "bookshelf " speaker. Shockingly deep and tight bass for its size.

Cons: Speaker needs room to breathe, can't shove it against the wall or jam it in a tight space.

Outstanding smallish speakers. Heavier than I anticipated but stellar sound. First sounds were from the French Open. I could hear every grunt, bounce and audience sound. Like I was there! Then Randy Newman--great bass and piano. Getting stands instead of bookshelf. Not a big change for some wonderful new music and av quality!

M Versus MII

John from Evans, GA on 5/30/2024

Verified customer (What's this?)
Verified employee review (What's this?)

This review compares the 600MII to the 600M. The 600 MII is a combination of audio and practical improvements over the highly rated 600 M. I'm using a Rotel RA-1572 integrated amp. While sounding as good with perhaps a better low end, the speaker is excellent in all ranges especially considering the price. There may be an improvement in the 600 MII tweeters but the 600 M tweeters were already outstanding. It seems that the brightness of the high end has been slightly modified down which is a good thing. I owned the 600 M's and replaced them with the 600MII's. I was considering putting cork on the bottom of the 600M's and purchased really nice jumpers because I didn't like the thin plates provided with the binding connection posts. 600 MII's have what sounds like an improved crossover, better wire jumpers for the binding posts, and a cork lined bottom of the cabinet for better isolation. If you choose to bi-wire these speakers, that's certainly available. The cabinets of the MII's seem slightly larger and also sturdier maybe because of the cork. All in all, everything lacking in the 600M (which wasn't much) was corrected with the 600M II. For the price, I think Klipsch got it done better than anyone .

Pros: Sound, design, price, aesthetics.

Cons: None at this price.

Klipsch 600M II Bookshelf Speakers

I've taken a couple weeks to listen before reviewing. Right out of the box they sounded great, I've had the 600M II Speakers hooked up to 3 different setups 1) MD 100 tuner or Yamaha CD Player, Emotiva preamp and VanAlstine amp, 2) same tuner & CD player w/ Rogue preamp and Hafler DH220 amp, 3) same tuner & CD with a Parasound Halo P6 preamp and B&K ST2140 amp. I love the sound no matter what setup I hook them too. They sound great at low or high volumes but I mainly purchased the 600M II's for low volume night listening. These aren't the only speakers I have incase you're wondering, I also haveWharedale's, Elacs and many other Klipsch speakers. These particular sets of speakers are best at mid to high volume listening that's why I love the 600M II's for low volume. Crutchfield, as always is fantastic to deal with , I look forward to many more purchases(sorry dear) By the way, my wife loves the sound of "all" of my setups, she's a huge fan of the Klipsch 600M II's though. Thank you Crutchfield!!

Pros: Beautiful all around sound and particularly love the clarity of the highs. Mid's are well defined and surprisingly ample bass. For me and the wife we don't feel we need a subwoofer, the sound is beautiful as is. Like any better speakers, you still need good equipment feeding the signal. I know Klipsch speakers are very efficient but it still helps to have enough power to deliver good sound

I was looking to replace a pair of Klipsch The Nines. I absolutely loved the sound of them, but software issues with connectivity has convinced me to go back to old school, simple, non-integrated speakers. IMO The Nines are a very musical speaker and when I was looking for a bookshelf speaker on par with The Nines, an associate recommended the 600M II. I was utterly disappointed the moment I put a signal through them. I had done zero research going solely on the associates recommendation and my first thought hearing them was I had purchased a speaker built for a home theater. There was no "soul" to these speakers - no character - no feel - just sound and for me not in a good way. Listening to the The Nines moved me emotionally and I couldn't wait to hear the next piece of music to explore the sound. I felt none of that "movement" with the 600s. Sure they sound good and can deliver some loud sound, but nothing that kept me listening. It was more like just getting through the song and trying not to feel like I had made a mistake. I endured them for about an hour and that was it. I called Crutchfield later in the evening after discovering the KEF R3 Metas. I am hoping that these bring to life the music like the Nines did. Just a note about all highly connected speakers - just remember that EVERYTHING piece of equipment in the signal chain can and will cause a problem at some point - phone, PC, Wiim, whatever. The Nines that I had w

These were purchased to go with a low wattage amp. The rated sensitivity is more like 90db instead of 94+db. They are not terribly picky about amp pairing. Sound has been pretty consistent from 10, 30, 50, and 100 watts classes AB and D. All were good, 2 hit the "synergy" stage though. These are speakers that have thoroughly surprised me. The RP-600M IIs have an absolutely engaging sound. I thought that they might have an exaggerated "smile" sound profile but no. Out of the box they had a smooth, refined top end, a good depth and fullness in the mid-range, but were lacking in bass presence. Breaking them in resolved that and brought out low end articulation and control. More low end presence or extension would be nice but that is what tone controls or subwoofers can help with. Break in also brought out more definition and clarity to the top end. These are very musical speakers that can be enjoyed for hours at a time. Contrary to some other reviews I have come across these do not have a "laser beam" top end. They are not fatiguing at all. One of my "oh!" moments was when doing an A/B comparison of speakers I realized that the RP600s were unveiling the sound of the room acoustics of a choral recording. Hearing that background room reverb brought an intimacy and immediacy to an already wonderful recording. I liked the speakers before that, I loved them after. On the downside: oddly, I am not that fond of their appearance. They make me think of a startled cyc

Pros: Smooth, non-fatiguing, good balance, musical, articulate low end, good build quality, not picky about electronics pairing

Cons: A bit more low end depth would be nice, appearance (see above)

The sound definition of these speakers is immediately recognized. If you are changing an old speaker system with these speakers, you hit the jackpot. Big enough to make the big difference in your living room, small enough to keep a low profile. I figured out that I want the greatest sound available without having to sacrifice my living room space. I waited a couple months for the price to come down, as soon as it happened it was a no brainer. After researching for a few months, I knew that these speakers were the best in the market for the magnificent price. If you love music or movies give yourself a gift. Enjoy the speakers!

Look if you're a "I put cables on cable risers and can hear the difference in metallurgical composition of driver types" then this review isn't for you. If you're a normal human being that just likes good sound then this review is for you. I'm long past the honeymoon phase, I've had these for like 1.5 years at this point. Every single day these get listened to. I use an Onkyo 6100 so these are connected to my Apple TV (main music streaming device), XBox, Switch, Turntable. They get used for everything. They aren't fatiguing. They aren't "brittle on the top end". They are most certainly LOUD. They can produce enough OOMF to feel it in your chest well across the room. I can hear all the details in my music, great soundstaging. I listen to a lot of metal, classic rock, the blues, blues rock, alternative, indie, country, mexican music. I've got a pretty wide range. I'm basically just not listening to rap and hip hop. The ONLY issue I've run into with these is when I was trying to listen to Sleep (a stoner metal band) and the droning mixed with downtuned guitars proved to be too much for the 6 inch drivers and caused them to flub out and lose clarity. That said I doubt that applies to many of you, that is the only instance in which it happened, and a subwoofer fixed the issue which honestly I doubt any bookshelf would have handled that combination of low frequency with droning tone. These look fantastic uncovered in a living room. These are excellent and try for a sale.

Good speaker, bad MSRP

Luke from PORTLAND, OR on 1/16/2024

Verified customer (What's this?)
Verified employee review (What's this?)

Many speakers in the bookshelf category are better described as standmounts -- there's no better starting point than that. The Klipsch RP-600M IIs are huge for a bookshelf speaker, and do a great job of using that space and a well-placed rear port for excellent bass response. The port is well-tuned for a variety of normally-suboptimal placements, and can be tamed with minimal effort on a "tone control" 3-band EQ even as close as a foot from the wall (though further is better for a more neutral sound). The midrange on this product is definitely recessed, but in a smoother way than Klipsch's Reference line. After hearing Klipsch's previous and current generation Reference horn, I'd recommend any would-be Reference tower buyers to go for these and some stands instead. The tweeter on this is controlled despite being boosted. You won't find sibilance for the most part, again in contrast to Reference horns. Now, why 3 stars? One is because I always consider reviews as a judgment against the MSRP. This is a 4 star speaker at $425, the price I paid around July 4th. This is a 3 star speaker at $650, its MSRP. On sale days, Klipsch universally does the deepest sale price cuts and with those attractive-looking 35% off reductions, the RP-600M II easily outperforms the barrage of 5.25in woofer speakers it competes with, especially in 2.0 systems. ELAC's DBR62 is better in 2.1 systems, with better midrange response, as its only real price+size competitor when they are

Pros: Easy to drive -- sounds good with a 30wpc integrated or an 8 year old surround receiver. Good imaging -- movie soundtracks and well-recorded music placed sounds correctly. Good bass extension -- clever port design compared to competitors

Cons: Positively huge for a bookshelf speaker -- really feels like a lopped-off RP-6000F II. Scooped midrange -- if you like the Klipsch sound you'll like it. MSRP is an illusion -- Klipsch retails high so its sales look aggressive. At $650 there are better options.

Remember reading about the blind taste tests with various brands of similar style beer (in "type" categories like Bock and Pilsner)? Numerous studies showed that NO ONE could tell the difference between say one Pilsner beer and any other Pilsner beer, When told of the results the test participants still maintained that they KNEW their long preferred brand tasted better than others.........in spite of the proof to the contrary. I would lay money on similar results when listening to a comparison of the original RP600m and this later edition. One difference of course is always present.............the cost. That extra hundred or so may better be used toward an amp upgrade or perhaps a sub woofer. Upgrades that are actually that in other words.

Pros: Like the original, just at a higher price, this speaker is one of the best in the bang for the buck category. A lot of quality and flat out fun for the money.

Cons: The differences between the original and this "bottom line improving" version are minuscule. You get a hint of that when the Klipsch marketing department starts talking up the quality of the binding wire used to connect the four speaker attachment posts. What value of upgrade are we talking there? A nickel? Eight cents?

This is the second set of the RP-600M II speakers that I have purchased from Crutchfield. The first were the black finish and these are the walnut. I will not be hooking these up for some time as I bought them on sale for a system to be built at a later date (sometime early next year). But the first set plays beautifully, look nice (with or without the speaker covers). These Klipsch bookshelf bullies easily fill a relatively large space (a good size living room, dining area and kitchen with 10 ft ceilings). They are paired up with the Marantz 8006 receiver and the Marantz 6008 CD player (black). I mounted the speakers on Kanto 22" White speaker stands and the components on a white four shelf rack. It looks great. I will be pairing this second set with a Marantz Model 50 receiver and a Marantz CD 60 (both the silver/gold).

Pros: The price was right. Usually these run about $649.. got the pair for $410, less $25 off for slower shipping. So for $385.couldn't pass that deal up. And, with my points from previous Crutchfield purchases got another $7 off (every little bit helps).

Cons: Not really a con, but they are just bookshelf size speakers. Perfect for smaller areas. They are not the Heresy's or Cornets which move you up into the neighborhood wrecker category.

Bought new JBLs first, then ELACs, which I love and are my front speakers; but these are the bomb, especially for the price. I am not an audiophile, but I know that the Eagles (dead or alive) are in the next room. Klipsch is the real deal. Plenty of power and clarity in all of the main ranges/frequencies. Perfect size that makes placement anywhere you want them a good fit, front, surround, etc. Make sure you use speaker stands. Subwoofer preferred , but clearly optional with these. Boom baby...

I bought the original RP-600Ms last month. They have great sound with my SVS SoundBase amplifier driving them. Then I learned about the new RP-600M II. Based on the positive reviews and the reduction in price, I bought them too. I can honestly mention that they sound different. Version I have a definitive dip in frequency response around 2KHz. This is not an issue if you use an equalizer. Version II does not have the dip so they sound "brighter" but never harsh. Subjectively based on my listening sessions (Same room, same amplifier), I can honestly say that the RP-600M II seem to be a better match to the SVS SoundBase. Definitely I can hear an improvement in mids and highs. Bass sounds slightly more refined and detailed. I'm not saying that the RP- 600Ms doesn't have a great sound, just acknowledging that Klipsch has done a very good job on the RP-600M IIs. Honestly I can recommend both versions. He comprado ambas versiones de las bocinas RP-600M. Conectadas a mi SVS SoundBase y luego de varias sesiones a modo de comparación, puedo decir que la versión II presenta un mejor sonido. Esto no quiere decir que las RP-600M no suenen bien, honestamente tienen muy buen sonido pero reconozco que Klipsch ha hecho un gran trabajo con las RP-600 II. Apreciar y distinguir el buen sonido es una experiencia subjetiva por eso recomiendo ambas versiones.

These speakers are very transparent l can hear all the details from string noise to breath pops. I love the definition and presence; I find them to be well balanced between high and low end. As a musician I love these qualities, although a casual listener might find them fatiguing. If that's the case, I recommend using a tube amp. I ran my turntable through a Daytonaudio 12w tube and it warmed them up, but I prefer my Arcam. I tried a lot of speakers within my budget. (Boston's, Martin Logan's, NHT's, Canton's, and Monitor Audio's) I found that these Klipsch speakers are the ones for me. At the end of the day sound is subjective, try everything. You'll find the best you can afford. Good luck on your audio journey. Have fun.

Pros: Wonderful speakers for the price.

Cons: You might find them fatiguing.

Let me preface this by saying that some may like the sound these speakers produce, and they are very well-built. They also are easy to drive and have no problem filling a large room without a hint of distortion. I was thoroughly unimpressed by these speakers for music listening; they're very good for cinema. In music, they sound as if someone placed a blanket over the front of the drivers. I actually enjoy the entry-level R-50M more than this model. The only genre I listened to on these that seemed to suit them was hard rock and some Swedish metal. Even still, the PSB Imagine XBs that I chose over these were at least as good with that style of music and cost a good bit less on sale. Midrange is almost absent as well. If your use case is primarily movies then these may be a good choice for you; otherwise, there are better options at this price point.

Pros: Well-built, eye-pleasing, great for movies

Cons: I didn't enjoy them at all for music

After a lot of YouTube and other deep diving on speakers costing less than $1000 I finally pulled the trigger on the 600M's. I knew I was in for a lively exp with these. However I thought my Rega Brio amp would help in calming some of the brightness. Delivery and service from Crutchfield was fantastic as usual. Now I knew these were quite bright, however on first listening was not really prepared for how bright these sounded. On some recordings (Jazz, female vocals) it was almost painful to listen to. Never a true believer in 'running in' I'd thought I'd made a terrible mistake. However after a week of 'bearing with it' all the bright disappeared almost overnight. The 600M's certainly are lively but now sound a lot more natural and revealing. Perhaps 'running in' is a thing after all !! (Klipsch actually recommend 100 hrs)

Pros: Lively sound

Cons: Initially very bright, Need running in.

These speakers have a big, wide soundstage and precise imaging. They are also an exciting listen, like being at a live concert, but possess some audiophile qualities as well. Despite a slight bump in the high frequencies (less than previous models) I do not find them to be fatiguing in the least. They also play very well at lower volumes with lighter acoustic material and jazz. And they remain composed with complex orchestral pieces. Nice job, Klipsch.

INCREDIBLE VALUE

Verified employee review (What's this?)

I work from home full-time and decided to replace the component system in my office with something new. I got these to pair with a MARANTZ PM7000N and could not be more pleased. I have them bi-wired and on stands, mounted about 15" from the corners. As is typical with KLIPSCH speakers (I have owned others in the past), they were a little bright at the outset, but that brightness disappeared after about 10 hours of playing time, and what I have left is a beautifully balanced, very musical sound, transparent and wide, with a surprisingly solid bottom end. I have an older Britannia Series REL subwoofer to round out the system and found myself dialing down the crossovers, and that was really a surprise. I looked at other bookshelf speakers at 2-3 times the price point and am really glad I did not buy into the hype. These speakers will not blow the doors off, but they will make you smile.

Pros: Big, musical sound from a small package at a great price point.

Cons: A bit bright at the outset. Bass is sensitive to positioning. A little patience will go a long way.

Pros: Very fun and actually more balanced than I thought they would be. - Well built -Fairly large in stature

Cons: Potentially just a smidge bright... as in if max brightness is 100% then these are an 90% and I prefer a 85%. I do think the sparkle adds to how fun they are, though.

These are fantastic speakers! The clarity and sound quality is amazing and I could not be happier with my purchase! I decided to redo my audio and started with a 2.1 system with these bookshelf speakers on Sanus SF22 stands paired with an R-101SW subwoofer. I did a ton of online research and did the Crutchfield Speaker Compare and listened to others in a box store. I really liked the punch of these speakers and always wanted to try something from Klipsch and I was not disappointed. I'm a big fan of Crutchfield and purchased many items from them over the years. Their website is excellent, the ordering process was quick and easy, and delivery was super fast. Next up will be a center speaker for a 3.1 system. And maybe a couple Towers. And Surrounds. And... And...

I am powering these with a Marantz 2030 amp and it is a match made in heaven. In a 300 SF room, the sound is pristine with a beautiful warm and spatial feel. You can place all of the voices and instruments at different points on the soundstage and hear every guitar pick , high hat and snare. Bass is enveloping and warm. Multi-vocal parts are beautiful, distinct and warm. A bit of loss in the mid-range crossover as is typical of bookshelf speakers but these speakers compensate for that as well as I have heard. You will still be blown away.

As an replacement for some aging smaller bookshelf-speakers, the Klipsch RP 600M II were a noticeable upgrade. First, the looks - Klipsch's signature copper-toned driver drew looks (and compliments) when we debuted these with the HBO Last of Us premiere. The larger size compared to my old set of speakers made for a richer, clearer, meatier sound that did not disappoint (nor sound too bright, as older Klipsch can be prone to). These speakers have been tackling everything from scratchy old 45s from my turntable, to Dolby Atmos 4K UHD discs from my Oppo, and everything in between, and all sound great. Topped these with some RP SA 500 upward firing speakers (which look terrific paired together) and a Klipsch 50C center channel, and my front sound stage is sounding better than ever!

Pros: - Gorgeous looks - Solid, full sound with no issues - Pairs wonderfully with other Klipsch options

Cons: - Moderately large for "bookshelf" speakers, be sure to measure your space!

This is my third review of Klipsch speakers, and I am adding the Crutchfield company to this review. I have nothing but great things to say about both the bookshelf speakers and Crutchfield. We did have an issue with delivery and they were damaged when we received them. When I called Crutchfield to speak with customer service about the damaged speaker, Lily was so helpful. She immediately requested a new set be sent to me to replace the damaged one. These speakers are amazing too. I was going to put them in the living room for a full surround sound system upgrade. But after installing all the other ones we added to the living room, we DID NOT NEED THEM in the living room since we also added Klipsch tower speakers, a center speaker, surround sound speakers, and a subwoofer. So I ended up putting them in our bedroom. OMG. These speakers sound so good. It feels like we are at the movies. The sound is crisp and so clear.

Pros: Easy hook-up. Looks great. Feel solid and heavy. Sound great.

These speakers are replacing some R820 f floor-standing models. They sound much more accurate and detailed, and they look much better in a smaller setting, although they have great bass output, paired with a decent subwoofer they will not disappoint, I still can't believe these sound as good as they do. I thought a bookshelf speaker would be a compromise but these will convince you size doesn't always matter.

Pros: These bookshelf speakers are impressive in looks and performance.

Cons: They are in the same price range as some larger floor-standing models and will need decent stands to elevate them.

Love these speakers! A year ago I had ordered the 600M version 1 and just did not like them. I found they sounded too "shouty" and a bit boxy. Sent them back and then got a pair of RB-61ii's that I really like. I was happily using the 61s'in my main system which includes Cambridge Audio AXA35 amplifier and CXA35 cd player and Project EVO Carbon TT. Then the 600Mii's went on sale and I took the bait. These are, to me, so much better than the 600M ver.1. The shouting is not there and it does not sound boxy at all. It has that Klipsch sound without the harshness in the highs(ie Heresy's....blech) and a nice amount of bass even at low volumes. Very happy with these. The 61's are now in my basement system that includes a Yamaha RX-777 receiver and a Yamaha cd-S303 cd player.

I recently bought a refurbished Marantz 2270, after being out of the hi-fi world for 30 years. I had it hooked up to an old pair of Paradigm bookshelves, which were pretty sweet, but I longed for that Klipsch logo and sound. I was completely prepared to give them a listen, AB test them, and return them. I would then have that out of my system. My wife, and best friend of 42 years, happened to be in the room when I was hooking up the new speakers. I left a Paradigm on the left channel and installed a Klipsch on the right channel, then faded them back and forth for her. My girl often claims to not be able to hear the difference in sound from various sources, but she instantly smiled, pointed to the Klipsch and the deal was done. Very pleased with the purchase, but I must say that working with the folks at Crutchfield has been a blessing. In a world without a "stereo store", like the good old days, shopping for equipment has become a pain. But Crutchfield has provided great tools and expertise to help this old drummer rekindle his love of music. Many thanks, Crutchfield!

Pros: I found the review videos really helpful. When I didn't get the best advice with an on-line chat, I got a phone call from a supervisor, who really wanted to help. I think we spent 20 minutes talking about our early hi-fi years and he gave me some wonderful advice. Wasn't really going to buy the Klipsch right now, but the sales pricing was too good to pass up.

Cons: Got to wait to save up some more money for my next purchase!

RP-600MII vs Elac Debut 2.0

Richard from Jacksonville, FL on 11/7/2022

Verified employee review (What's this?)

Yes, all the reviews are kind right, very lively, fun speaker to listen to. I tested them out against the Elac Debut 2.0 B62. The Klipsch 600MII was fuller, thicker, more bass, made the Elac seem a little thin and anemic, BUT the Elac had a more clear, crisp, transparent, well defined mid to high frequencies. So while Zeplin sounded better on the Klpsch, Steely Dan or well recorded folk alla Iris Dement's album "Fallen Angel" sounded muffled, constricted, not as free and airy as the Debut. A great speaker, especially if it's on sale.

Pros: Full, rich, lively sound

Cons: Not amazing , clear, transparent mids to highs

These are exactly what I was hoping for. Since moving my system with RF-82's to a smaller room and selling them I've tried 4 different bookshelf speakers. None had natural sounding bass. These fill the bill in the bass area. My room is 10' x 12' x 8', so I don't need huge speakers for great bass. At least not with these. Currently connected to an Emotiva amp and pre amp. Soon to be connected to a Muzishare X7 KT-88 integrated tube amp. I can only imagine.

Klipsch speakers are sometimes called bright or fatiguing. Before passing judgement on the RP-600M ii, I would caution would-be buyers to look at all devices in their audio chain. Synergy is so important in getting the outstanding sound these speakers are capable of producing. They are extremely transparent and reveal the character of other components up the chain all too readily. I start my rig with a miniPC running Roon and send the signal via USB to a Denafrips DDC. The digital-to-digital converter cleans up noise, jitter, and timing that can result in what many call harshness. The signal then goes to a Denafrips Pontus II DAC. It's hard to beat its performance. Most importantly, it maintains signal neutrality, something many DACs cannot lay claim to. After the Pontus, it's all Schiit. First, a Loki Max to fix any records that were made with not the greatest of fidelity. Then a very neutral Saga S preamp. A Lyr headphone tube amp/speaker preamp provides tube magic, and the Aegir Class A amplifier adds 20 watts of incredibly smooth amplification. It has to be heard to be believed. This is an outstanding rig. It's performance is fully captured by the Klipsch RP-600M ii. Component synergy makes it punch way above its price. Visitors comment on how good the 600s look, and can't believe that such big, spacious and smooth sound can come from small speakers. I'm a proud papa when they say that music sounds so real. That is what hi fidelity means. Highly, highly recom

Pros: Exceptional in all the speaker parameters that matter: frequency balance, tonal accuracy, focus, soundstage, instrument separation, adequate bass weight, ability to effortlessly handle 85db levels without breaking a sweat. No clipping at those levels, etc., etc., etc. No sub required. I use one just to fill the lowest octave. I like to feel my deep bass.

Cons: Wish there were more finish options.

I would have to agree with the 3 star reviewer David from TX these speakers can sound very clinical if not matched with the right gear. These speakers do sound best with warm laid back electronics and tube amplification. Units like vintage audio Marantz and tube gear benefit from this kind of speaker. This is a super quality high efficient speaker to get better will cost around 1K. I on the other hand cannot give these speakers a 3 star rating like David did but what I don't like is the price point this is being sold at. After all these are not heritage line speakers.

Outstanding bookshelf speakers!

These are excellent bookshelf speakers. I have owned lots of bookshelf speakers in the past, and these are the best sounding. I have owned the Energy C-2, Paradigm Reference Studio 20 v2, JBL HLS-610, Monitor Audio Bronze, Infinity Interlude IL-10's, etc., and these surpass them all sonically. I also used to own a pair of floor standing Paradigm Reference Studio 100v2 towers, and these compete on a nearly equal level in the mids and highs, and actually have a smoother more balanced treble than the big Paradigms! The Paradigms could sound alittle spitty, harsh, and slightly metallic in the treble at times. I also compared them to a friend's Polk Reserve R200, and I preferred these slightly. They are more lively, dynamic sounding, and less boomy than the Polks, imho. Lively, clear, open, detailed sound with excellent bass, clear non-fatiguing treble, and excellent imaging. Go loud without distorting too. I am very pleased with these speakers and highly recommended them. I also recommend Crutchfield very highly!

Pros: Open, dynamic, lively, detailed sound. Overall smooth, clear treble. Great mids. Great soundstaging. Surprisingly good, punchy bass. I also really like the magnetic grills. Great looking speakers too.

Cons: Expensive. Even though the bass is punchy and dynamic, and extends to 37 hz in my small room, you may want to purchase a separate subwoofer for deeper bass.

Extremely good value , well made ,excellent imaging . Vocals are upfront and clear, just a little narrow for me lacking some lower harmonics on certain tracks. Has that quick punchy live sound that can make a lot of its competition sound subdued, slow and muddy when comparing. Cant give it a 5 star, there are better speakers out there, but at this price in my opinion the 600M 2 is hard to beat.

Great speakers for not too critical listening. Bass is a little bloated at times. Top end is not too bright and easy on the ears. Overall finish is attractive.

Pros: Attractive cabinet. Easy to listen to.

Cons: Bass sometimes overwhelms the midrange.

I love these speakers! I upgraded from the Klipsch RP-500M which were also good speakers, but the RP-600M IIs were awesome! Great fuller sound and the bass was a major step up. I would definitely recommend them and I don't think any other speakers in this price range can beat these.

Pros: The best speakers in this price range.

Great speakers for a home theater

Excellent looking speakers with great sound. Pairs well with the Klipsch R52C center speaker for a home theater setup! Has an optional bi-wire setup. Make sure your receiver has enough power to supply to these. I have a Yamaha RV-6A.

Pros: Great fit for my space

Cons: If you have a 5 channel surround setup - you will likely need a 7 channel receiver to give these speakers a decent amount of power

This can be fast . I love the old version. Still have them actually. I don't see the point here. Truthfully, I don't see what the IIs do SO much better. The new price tag puts the 600s in a range where they become "also rans". I am sorry that I bought them - stick with the originals unless these go discount. They are good, they were good. The IIs might be weaker. No longer a value but.

Pros: Still goid

Cons: Higher price

I'm in awe

I wanted to celebrate my birthday this year by finally completing my surround sound system with quality left and right main speakers. My old bookshelf speakers were just no longer cutting it. I've been a Klipsch fan for years and the rest of my surround sound system-center, sub, highs and backs-are all Klipsch so why not keep it in the family by buying a set of Klipsch mains? While I had contemplated getting the new RP-8000F II floor standing speakers, I really didn't see the point as I already own a R-125 subwoofer which is more than adequate for the size of my media room. So after watching both Steve Guttenberg and Andrew Robinson review this new 600M generation on YouTube, I decided to take the plunge. So what do I think? Well after spending hours listening to these after running Audyssey calibration all I can say is WOW, like truly WOW! Everything from a Bach cantata to Wolf Alice to Elliott Smith to Rufus du Sol to Kendrick Lamar sounds amazing, clear, and with an immediacy and sound stage I wasn't quite prepared for. And as for movies, well let's just say you won't be missing any of that theater sound. Explosions, gunfire, whirling helicopters and creaking doors sound as realistic as they get. Stunning. Having heard and enjoyed the sound of the original Klipsch 600Ms, I had my doubts that Klipsch would be able to improve on those iconic speakers. Boy was I wrong. So a very, very happy birthday to me!

I also have Klipsch Heritage speakers. For their size I'm very pleased. When hooked up alone twelve feet apart, I did have to pull them out a little from the corners to get the mid-bass sound right. My SB-3000 covers from 44 hz down, and my new pc build sounds pretty good. Using hybrid tube monos these make sweet sounding music even more so! The clear mid & high detail that the Klipsch horn loaded are known to have in abundance is there, but it's not as prominent. Heck an album cover could almost hide them! PC is on the same wall and the sound is good there. It's much better turned up some and in the sofa across the room!

Stepping Up.

David from Iowa Park, TX on 6/10/2022

Verified employee review (What's this?)

A decent speaker overall, but not without it's issues. Improved looks, construction and performance over the original, but still boosted above 1Khz, which I'm personally sensitive to. These will often pair well with "warm" or "laid back" gear, especially when faced out into the room, or with some slight tow-out. (ie not directly at the listening position) I wouldn't recommend these in a room with lots of bare walls, or with any "cool" or "clinical" sounding gear, which will likely make them more fatiguing and bright than they are. They're not something I want to listen to all the time, but they do some things quite well, and I'm always happy to see big brands improving the performance & construction of their products. I dont love them, but I dont hate them either.

Pros: -Wide soundstage w/ good imaging. -Improved looks & performance over previous model. -Good detail retrieval up top.

Cons: - Bright top end, much better tonal balance without tow-in. (More fatiguing with tow-in) - Mids & bass, especially vocals, feel a little lacking due to boosted treble. - Not 94.5dB. Much closer to 85dB

Wow. Hard to believe you get this much speaker for the price. Had them for just over a month and they are sweetening up nicely. Sound is very engaging and soundstage is very large. I find myself grabbing things I haven't listened to for a while and end up with a smile. Bass is good on it's own, I just happened to pair up with a SVS Micro 3000 in a smaller room for 2 channel listening and the system rocks. I have more expensive equipment elsewhere but end up going to these more. Can't comment on how they are vs. the original 600's, but these are well worth it for a bookshelf type.

Pros: Quality build, nice binding posts, sound, soundstage, sound and look great with or without grills

Cons: None

Trade Up

Madison from Austin, TX on 5/31/2022

Verified employee review (What's this?)

Preface- I am long time diehard fan of Klipsch products going back over 30 years. Currently have three systems with Heresy's and Forte's and Klipsch subs. So, review may be a stacked deck. I purchased a pair of RP-600M Mark Is 'just weeks before the Mark II model was introduced. Saw two YouTube reviews- Steve Guttenberg and Andrew Robinson- they convinced me to trade-up. The Mark II cabinets are better built, highs are more refined and overall, more balanced- and yes, the imaging is now broader with wider horn wave guide and higher SPL. I have driven the pair with three different amps (80, 50 and 6 watts per channel), and they now reside with my small tube amp in our guest room. No sub in this analog system- maybe later. Just for grins- I placed the pair on top of my vintage Fortes and drove all four speakers (A+B) with my NAD C368- oh my gosh! Almost kept the setup.....the upper mids bloomed and treble was "live". I once had an audio salesman give me a listening hint- "listen to a live recording and pay attention to the applause"..... It should sound "real" as the human ear "knows" what this should be like. This are well rounded and live-up to the Klipsch dynamic reputation.

Pros: Great for small to mid-size room They can play loud Great improvements over Mark I version

Cons: Price They do need stands For primary system- consider a small sub
