Video: Linking 100 JBL Bluetooth speakers to a single Bluetooth connection

See and hear JBL's Connect+ technology in action

Heads up!

Welcome to this article from the Crutchfield archives. Have fun reading it, but be aware that the information may be outdated and links may be broken.

JBL's Connect+ technology lets you connect multiple speakers to each other, and then play music through all of them over a single Bluetooth connection. We took 100 speakers, made up of Pulse 3, Flip 4, and Boombox models, and made a colorful display we dubbed the Wall of Sound and Light. Check it out in this short video.

Eric here with Crutchfield, and today I am surrounded by 100 of JBL's latest Bluetooth speakers. So JBL claims that you can connect 100 of these together through a single Bluetooth connection, and here at Crutchfield we like to try things out for ourselves, so let's do that.

Turn the speaker on, go to settings, Bluetooth right now. To pair another one, do it simply by hitting the party mode button. So for each speaker you want to add you just repeat that process. So we're gonna do that 98 more times, and we're gonna fill our studio up with these speakers. Alright, there you have it, we successfully hooked up 100 speakers to a single Bluetooth connection. Now we're going to turn the lights off and the music up, and see what our co-workers think.

All right that was a ton of fun we love getting our hands on the products here at Crutchfield it helps us help you make the right decisions so if you have any questions about these speakers or anything else we carry feel free to give us a call.

Does it remember the connections or do you have to connect each speaker each time you power it up. Also is there a marine head unit that could stream to the independent speakers so that they could be incorporated into 1 sound system (wired and bluetooth). Thanks
